| Full Name: Jaidev Kishan Gender: Male Age: 42 Element: None Birthplace: Fire Nation Position: Training: Expert chi blocker, expert martial arts, expert with knives (close and throwing)
Personality:
Believing himself to be the world’s savior through cleansing the planet, it is clear that he has a messiah complex and that a near-complete genocide is preferable to him. These two qualities combined with his charisma and complete control over his followers makes him a large threat, should he ever gain the amount of forces he desires. Jaidev believes that chaos is balance, orders such as governments or other religions do not keep the world in balance and neither does the Avatar. People are truly on equal terms when no one has an upper hand, chaos is fair, and chaos does not choose favorites. Chaos is balance because it has no winners. People come together in crisis, if chaos is unending, everyone is united. They would be just as united as the many faces of his deity. While he considers his group a religious one, he does not see himself as its leader. He is simply the link between Koh and his followers. His group is a committee and he was selected to keep them on track with their goal.
It is uncertain whether or not he can actually enter the Spirit World like he says he can or not. Either his spiritual nature is so one-sided he can only see the evil in the Spirit World, or he is simply delusional. But he is so strong in his beliefs that others tend to follow his doctrines. Not only does he accept violence as a means to an end, he encourages it. His violent, ritualistic behavior connects him to his spiritual side. His barbarity is pure, meaning that there is no ulterior motive behind it. He does not enjoy the killing, it simply must be done.
Jaidev treats all of his members as family, becoming extremely protective of the children. It is likely that he shelters “his” children so much as a psychological means of redeeming his failures as a father. His demeanor is quiet and serious; a solemnity is always in the air when he is around. He must be ever vigilant; he was tasked with a great job which he must fulfill in order to save the world.
Abilities:
A former soldier and a former monk, Jaidev has learned multiple forms of combat and martial arts. He is known for his speed and his flurry of blades. Learning to chi block in a monastery, he combines he soldier training with knife throwing with dangerous consequences. Instead of having to poke the point in the body to disable someone, he throws a carefully aimed knife at the chi point. Despite the piercing, the effects are not permanent, unless the blade completely severed the point; it is still quite dangerous however. Blood loss is still a likely threat and the temporary disability still lasts as long as a poke.
In the monastery, he learned to focus through pain, having people believe he feels none. That is not true; he just has a large threshold especially when he is not caught off guard. His methods are fast, clean, and as painless as he can make them. The deaths he inflicts are not enjoyed, only needed, so he tends to be merciful with his killing. Unless of course he is performing a ritual. He prefers to use an opponent’s strength against them when fighting hand to hand, but can break bone should the need arise. He prefers constant movement, keeping his enemies off balance as they desperately try to keep up with his moves.
Appearance: The first things people notice about Zaidev is that he is tall, bald, dark, and very muscular for his age. He tends to dress in rather unassuming attire outside of his ceremonies. A simple roe or kimono will due, preferring to live as humbly as possible. His clothes for his congregations are more elaborate. He paints a symbol on his face, wears flat pointed shoes, a sash and sleeves. Strangely enough there is no shirt attached to the sleeves, they are just tied on. The reason being that it is supposed show some humility and purity. How that actually works is not certain but that is his explanation. His holy attire is blue and white, but not the type of blue associated with the Water Tribes. The blue is to symbolize empathy, and the white, purity. The patterns etched into his clothes are arcane symbols, their meanings lost to most from the passage of time. No matter what clothing he happens to wear, there are hidden pockets were he keeps knives. He conceals them in the chest area, his sleeves, his sash, his pants, and his shoes. They are designed so with a simply quick movement, knives will fly out. Yes, this means even knives can even be thrown from his feet. Height: 5'11" Weight: 168 lbs. Eyes: Brown Hair: none Skin: Brown
Weaponry & Other Gear:
Item Name Knives Materials: Various knives Description: Some are curved, some are not, some are daggers, some are small kunai and concealed. He also has a knife used only for rituals.
History: Not much can be verified or found regarding the history of Zaidev Kishan. It cannot even be stated that that is his real name or one of his own design. All that can be known is what he claims. He claims that his life was not worth mentioning before becoming a Fire Nation soldier. He claims that on a local raid to weed out city criminals, his wife and child were caught in the crossfire. Soon afterwards he had quit the army and lived alone, hoping to die. He did not take a job and grew poor, eventually becoming destitute, wallowing in his pity and filth. One day he had left the city and headed to the sea to die. He walked into the ocean, deeper and deeper, until his lungs were full of salt water. And yet, he would not die, fate had other plans.
Waking up on a boat, he met his saviors, monks known as the Order of the Great Spirit. They took the man in, fed him, clothed him, and nursed him back to health. Humbled even further by these kind acts, his life changed further. He joined their order and followed their doctrines. However he was not able to find the inner peace he desired, he could not get over the loss of his family. His “realization” was that order led to suffering. The army killed his family, the bank took his home, and the police would not even let him sleep in the streets. Order was the oppressor, but how could he save humanity?
In a dream, the beast of many faces came to him, comforted him, and enlightened him. Chaos, chaos was the answer. Chaos was balance. Unity was not to be forced through order; it was to be found in chaos. People would truly love and need each other if the world was in shambles. They would appreciate what they had, if it were easy to lose. Chaos was the equalizer, it did not take sides, it had no agenda, and chaos simply is. Koh must have been the Great Spirit! It was so obvious to Jaidev. In order to save the world, it needed to be rebooted. Koh needed to save the world by putting it on the edge of ruin. Only then could people’s souls be saved. His discovery leads to him to studying the darkest of rituals, long forbidden by those before him. After several more years, he came to his conclusions, to bring back Koh, he needed to kill the symbol that stood for false balance and unity, and needed to utilize a great spiritual power to summon his master. The Avatar was the answer. The bridge between two worlds and who has for countless lifetimes ruined the world with so-called “peace” needed to be killed, her flesh used as a vessel for Koh.
His conviction and charisma swayed many of his fellow monks into joining him. Those who did not fall in line were slain for they were attackers of the truth. A cult began to form, called the Children of Koh, Jaidev is their teacher, their father. He started just as most cults start; he provided a sense of community and worth to those who feel rejected. He would take in confused children, disenfranchised men, and the lonely women of the world and slowly brainwash them to his truths. He taught them blood rituals to bring them fortune, orgies to burn away shame, and trained them all in the ways of combat, to kill those who would stop them, and to kill the Avatar. Jaidev now hides in the shadows, no one knowing who he is other than his loyal brethren, he could be among anyone, and they would never know him, but they would know Koh. One day, there will be as many followers of Koh as there are as many faces of his.
