Personality:
Xin is a confident, adventurous young man who is always outgoing and ready to try new things. His goals are simple, to be awesome. That is how he’d put it at least. He is a very energetic young man, constantly moving, or at least fidgeting when he can’t stay till. He is always up on taking a dare despite how unwise it may seem, if it would be amazing, he is going to try to do it. However, he is not a complete bonehead. When it comes to archaeology he is actually very perceptive and knowledgeable. He is a quick learner and is very perceptive regarding the feelings of others. He is not however, very perceptive of the motives of others. He can be trustful to point of naivety and takes betrayal very harshly.

He is a sucker for good food, almost always dropping everything he does, regardless of its importance if the smell of a cooked meal is enticing enough. Loyal to a fault as well as idealistic, if someone is in the wrong he will get involved regardless of the consequences. He is an adventurous, impulsive, and generally outgoing young man who is always up for a grand quest and making friends along the way.


Abilities:
One aspect of Xin’s bending is his developing of firing stone “bullets”. Developed by his father, Xin has dedicated his efforts into fleshing out this technique. The technique is essentially breaking hard stone into small pieces and fires them at a rapid speed that can pierce the body. However, he has not been able to launch projectiles this fast yet. The bullets only have enough stopping power to stun or knock out. He can fire multiple pebble bullets at once, feeling vibrations in the earth to take aim at those outside of his scope of vision. However, he is still an intermediate bender. His aim is not perfect, the strength is not expert level and there is still room for improvement. He also has access to typical bending techniques such as making defense walls, small tremors, rock spikes, and so forth.

Like most earth benders, his style is largely one of strong movements meant to work as defense and offense often at the same time. Different from some Earth benders however, he does not tend to stand as still when fighting, preferring keeping people guessing as to what he is going to do next. He gains his strength in his form through momentum as opposed to heavy weight shifting. If he can move fast, his movements would have the same impact as shifting his stances while staying still.


Appearance:
His spiky hair is very noticeable for Xin. No matter how often someone combs it down, his constant activity just means it’s going to get even messier afterwards. He wears a gold plated headband that his father gave him after finding it on an expedition. He wears it no matter what, even in his sleep, even when he bathes. It is fortunate that it has been rust-proofed. His ears are a little large, and he gets very defensive when people tease him about it. He also wears soft, flowing, short-sleeved robes, with a high puffed collar. He tends to stand out from others because he does not dress in traditional Earth colors. He tends to wear white, red, and orange.
He has the typical physique of a kid his age, mainly lean muscle. He has large brown eyes that always show what is on his mind whether he wants them too or not. He tends to have a smile on his face be it a playful one or a cocky grin and has a locket with portraits of his mom and dad in it. He tends to wear wooden sandals, that make loud clacking noise as he walks.

History:
Xin was born to a family of Earth Benders who were archaeology majors at Ba Sing Se University. He inherited his mother’s thirst for adventure, and his father’s bending. He was born in a well-off household, his parent both loved him very much and could provide for him due to their vastly valuable finds when they would go off on expeditions. Though they occasionally have to go and leave him when they go an expedition the family is very happy and in times as these, his grandfather keeps him company. His grandfather is another eccentric archaeologist, though technically more of a tomb raider and the stories he’d tell Xin as a child of his adventures as well as Xin’s parents cemented Xin’s desires for being a famous adventurer. Finding lost cities, saving the kingdom, all dreams that despite reaching his teenage years, has never grown out of. He also promised himself and pretty much everyone else he meets that he will become the world’s greatest earth bender. He had a talent for it and wanted to follow in his father and grandfather’s footsteps, they had won several trophies for their talents.

Being a bit of a loud mouth, some people find him as obnoxious or just overly eager to prove himself. He often skips school to go out on his own adventures, be it exploring caves nearby the city, or trying to win street fights to prove how awesome he is. He also spends a great deal of his time trying to master his father’s personal earth bending technique, rapid firing, small stones with enough power to pierce through solid rock. He isn’t quite that powerful yet, but he is definitely taking to it well. He promised his dad he’s master it by the time he and mom came back home. His parents are out on an expedition in the dessert to find a certain buried library. They have not really made much progress thus far.

Xin has more often than before has started wandering out the city even further, his grandfather finally letting him be able to camp out in the wild on his own. The new locales have helped him grow in self-sufficiency, and survival. Xin is finally starting to feel a little more grown up as he proves to himself he can live on his own and support his weight.
