When Night Falls...[Katara]

Saitou	Saitou trudged along quietly, for the most part. His feet ached, they'd been walking all day and he knew Rei adn Reimaru had just about had enough. He was hungry, they were likely hungry. He couldn't blame them for being grouchy, really, especially not Reimaru, given how young he was. He looked around as they neared down, the trees thinning somewhat. The sun was going down, or it would be going down soon, a quick check of inventory proved what he'd feared, out of money...again. It was a frequently noticed problem with them, and he hated being forced to rob people. Though he'd prefer that to being caught. He brushed his hair back, walking toward the town, "Looks like we'll be staying here tonight..." He walked into the crowded streets, leading them to a two story inn, he pushed the door open, finding only an old woman there to help them, he paid for a room, as well as for a plate of food for each of them. After recieving said food, looked like rice with some kind of meat, and maybe curry sauce over all of it, he led the two upstairs, and gave them their food, watching over them as they ate, and departing shortly after they'd fallen asleep. He didn't know what he was hoping to find out there, no idea. Maybe someone to talk to, someone who wasn't a literal child.

Rei	Rei wandered along quietly behind Saitou, he usually was thinking when he was quiet, which he seemed to be frequently. He was quiet, and she was nervously playing with her hair, the closer they got to town, the more worried she was of being noticed. She watched Saitou counting coins, and frowned, wanting to say something comforting, but her stomach growled, and she decided against it. Glancing at Reimaru, who looked pretty tired, but he wasn't saying anything, must have noticed Sai's mood. She didn't say a word, even when he spoke, nodding, she wished they didn't have to stay in a town where people might recognize them. But she was hungry and footsore, and Saitou definately would not take 'no' for an answer, not after their day's trek. Besides, as they got closer, and entered the streets, the inn he found was run by a nice looking old lady who made them food without even asking where they were from. She admitted to it, she gorged herself, eating until she couldn't, then she promptly dropped onto the bed, giggling softly as Reimaru did the same. Though, in truth, she fell asleep nearly right after her head hit the pillow.

Reimaru	Reimaru hardly cared what was going on, he wanted to be carried, he wanted water, he wanted to sleep. He did not want to say any of this out loud, well, he did, but he also knew better. Saitou was patient, but he looked pretty grumpy at the moment. Besides, he could see the changes around him, the road they were on looked like people walked on it a lot, plus, he could see buildings. Rei gave him a look, and he looked back at her, mouthing the words 'I'm hungry'. She seemed to be thinking the same thing, and he was overjoyed as the entered the town, and stopped at an inn. There was an old lady there, all smiling and happy, and she made the most delicious food he'd ever tasted. He ate as much as he could, needless to say, curling up beside Reimaru shortly after finishing. He was snoring softly in no time at all.

Z. Katara Len	Katara enjoyed the evening. it was cooler than the day, and so Katara was a mostly nocturnal creature in the lower latitudes. Depending on the place, she sometimes went barefoot, though she had a pair of sturdy Fire Nation boots among her scant number of belongings. She did not go barefoot to show off the scars on her calves and feet, or to try and gain pity of any kind. She simply did what she wanted. she swept her metal staff in front of her as she walked to make sure she didn't trip over anything or stub her toes. at one point as she was wandering down an alley, she somehow did, which caused her to emit a loud "DAMMIT!" before grabbing her foot and searing under her breath. she jumped back, blasting a huge burst of fire at the small rock she had hit, obliterating it. then she straightened up a little bit and continued on her way. exitting the alley led her past a two-story inn. She had a few coins on her that she had taken from her family's house, which was technically hers now though she usually kept it locked because she seldom stayed in it. Her family had not been rich, but they had been well-off. the way Katara looked, however, would have said much different. she walked past the inn without much thought to it, heading west without a real destination in mind. her glazed white eyes shimmered in the moonlight, almost glowing like an Avatar's.

Saitou	Perhaps Saitou didn't care, perhaps he had too much on his mind. Maybe he just didn't notice, walking along, checking people out. He had hoped a rich noble might cross his path, of course he had no such luck. He'd need money tomorrow, hell, he needed money now, his stomach growling. Neither of them had commented on his lack of food, because they both knew he always gave up what he needed to make sure they had what they needed first. That's what a good guardian did, they watched out for the people they are taking care of. The only issue with that was that pride in the fact that he'd done the right thing did not fill his belly. He didn't really eat regularly, but he never complained, never wished for an easier life, and certainly never asked for handouts. All these thoughts were interrupted by an angry yell, and a blast he recognized as flame, and he paused all his thinking to watch a blind girl exit an alley not too far from the inn he was standing outside of. He scanned her, took in everything, and as she passed, he walked down the steps out front. "Kinda late for a stroll.", he said, stepping around to the opposite side of her to avoid a swing just in case she was hostile. Not that his appearance really mattered, but his hair was it's usual mop-like mess, and he was wearing clothes that looked to have been in style when Firelord Zuko was a kid. Not that he cared much, he dressed in what he could afford, who cares if he looked like a kid straight out of a portrait.

Z. Katara Len	Being blind and lacking the special heat sense that skilled firebenders had, Katara wasn't exactly fashionable. She wore was what comfortable, which, to her was her baggy shirt and pants, and a pair of armored gloves. it almost looked like a Fire Nation version of a warrior getup another woman named Katara had worn a century or so before, but Zelgius Katara didn't and wouldn't know that, and probably not care either. she was alone, which she had grown accustomed to and somewhat fond of, and so she was not really complaining. that stupid rock had had what was coming for it anyways. the silence of her stroll and the glory of her solitude were cracked upon hearing a voice. what was said may have made her jump and strike, had it not been the tone. Katara did not forget voices easily. "depends on when ya woke up." she replied calmly. She was trying ton better control her anger and not lash out at people the way she used to. She was a passive creature by nature... very passive. aggression had come into her life from the trying years of her childhood, but she was smarter than to think that it justified her irrational behavior. Thus, it was a trial she was going through that she'd have to resolve on her own. "so what are you doing out this late then?" she quipped. she did not know what either of them looked like, but if voices were anything, he couldn't have been older than 20 or 21 or so.

Saitou	Saitou did noticed that, first the clothes, the way she walked. The gloves more than most things, it seemed like a pretty strange choice of clothing alongside the pants and shirt. And then he looked up at her eyes, and he couldn't help notice, just by appearance, how similar they looked. It was weird, like looking at yourself if perhaps you were the opposite gender, at least a bit. Of course his comment was answered, and she was quite calm, considering how angry she'd been a few moments ago. He smiled lightly, "Or perhaps upon when the sun went down.", he said. He was naturally pretty calm, he didn't like conflict if he could help it, which is why he worked on keeping people calm in bad situations. Saitou didn't really see the harm in telling her the truth, so he did, "I have to rob someone to keep my friends and myself alive. What about you?"

Z. Katara Len	had Katara not been blind, she would have analyzed his appearance. however, she analyzed everything she could, from the noises he made and even the sound of his footsteps. she kept very calm, but she did have something of a hair-trigger temper. she could turn from gentle to psychotic at the drop of a hat if she was provoked, which unfortunately, was easier to do than Katara liked to admit. luckily though, that did not seem to be a current issue, and so it was not on Katara's mind. "indeed." she nodded in agreement. She was a woman of few words, and so there was not much else she felt like adding to her statement. she shrugged. "ya do what you have to." she remarked. "I got nothing. I was just wandering around because I have nowhere better to go. what's your name, by the way?" perhaps if he gave his, she could give hers.
