Personality: The king of the streets, the ruthless businessman, the ambitious orphan who refused to drown in the flood that was his negative upbringing. Kaz is a criminal drug lord who wants to rule the underworld that he grew up in and take control over the game that he has been playing since he was a child. He is ruthless,brutal and a no-nonsense young man that will crush any opposition that threatens his reputation or his control. A person who steals from him will have his hands crushed. A man who soils his name and reputation will have his jaw broken and his teeth knocked down his throat. However, just because Kaz prefers to use brute force to solve his problems doesn't mean he is reckless and will not always resort to his preferred physical methods and is not above using dirty tactics against adversaries that have more power than him. As a man of the Earth Nation and a an Earth-Bender, he has the usual traits of being strong-willed, stubborn and will refuse to budge against any force that tries to push him down, emotional or physical. Kaz tries to combine his logical calculating mind with his blunt physical prowess to be a strong,and effective drug lord.
Even with all his violent attributes, Kaz is human and not entirely cold-hearted. Even though he has killed his share of people, he still has feelings as a human and has the unfortunate habit of remembering every face of his victims in his dreams every time he sleeps. Fortunately for him, his strong willpower and use of logical thinking, he has been able to suppress the emotional strain of taking a life by always reasoning that his murders are for business and never personal. Like every human, he has a good side but it is quite limited. Although he puts himself and his business above everything, he does care for his associates and members of his organization, usually having up to platonic relationships with the higher ranked members, who he trusts the most. Even though he cares for them, he is always capable of killing them without hesitation if they stop being of use or being a hindrance to his business and drug organization. Despite being able to have platonic relationships, Kaz is almost completely unable to have any intimate feeling for anyone due to his broken childhood which was full of neglect by the very people who supposed to love him unconditionally. The only true things so far in his life that Kaz truly loves is his reputation, his organization and his city, Ba Sing Se. Being extremely wealthy with all the money he has made with his various businesses, Kaz refuses to purchase nobility or live in the Upper Ring or even the Middle Ring although his restaurant is located there. He instead prefers to reside in the poor Lower Ring so he would never forget where he came from and never change who he is.
Being raised on the streets of the poor lower ring in Ba Sing Se, Kaz has never had education or some sort of master to teach him literature, history and other academics. Because of this, he speaks improperly and uses profanity quite often no matter who he is talking to. This does not mean however, that Kaz is not intelligent. Even though he does not have academic education, he is very “street smart” and is a very capable businessman through his work in the drug trade. As smart as he is, Kaz hardly uses always goes with his mind when making important decisions and tends to go with his gut, or intuition as that has never failed him in his twenty-five years of living. Despite his serious demeanor due to his reputation and position, Kaz does know how to have a good time and does have a sense of humor. Just like any other normal man, he is fond of simple pleasures such as food, sex, booze and the good old ultra violence. Being a drug lord,Kaz is a very talented herbalist, knowing a good amount knowledge of plants of the Earth Kingdom, but mostly has knowledge on the plants that have mind or mood altering effects so they can be used for his drug business. Kaz is also quite the cook when it comes to earth kingdom cuisine and owns a restaurant in the Middle Ring that his is front and legit business to help launder money through his drug trade and is where his office and safe is located and heavily protected.

Abilities: Earth Bending- Kaz is a great earth-bender and has been his most used and trusted ability since he was a kid. His style is offense to be the greatest defense, using his earth bending to overpower his opponent with his strength and creativity. His favorite techniques are mostly using walls of earth to not only defend himself but to also crush whoever dares raise their fists against him. He also shows early signs of what would eventually be pro-bending as he likes to hurl medium size rocks using his fists in a boxing like style. He is also very proficient in using seismic sense and loves to use it when interrogating and torturing in order to tell if the poor fool is lying or being honest. It is also because of his constant use of seismic sense that he stumbled upon metal bending.
Metal bending- Through his use of seismic sense, one day Kaz was able to see that there was non-purified earth in the coins he was counting. Through constant practice, he was able to bend the coins to the point he could levitate them and even throw them. Despite having some practice under his belt, he is not a prodigy at it and with having to contribute his time to his businesses, he hardly has the time to master it. At most, Kaz is only able to bend a limited amount of metal and only by directly touching it first.
Hand to Hand- With the exception of his earth bending, Kaz's hand to hand abilities are his bread and butter and his favorite style to mix with his earth bending. He has never learned an actual martial art through a master and was self-taught. His style usually boxing combined with muay thai for his striking. Due to this size and strength, his striking has a lot of knockout power but Kaz likes to really use that strength of his for his grappling which is using wrestling take-downs and throws to get his opponent on the ground. On the ground, Kaz finishes his doomed opponent with vicious ground and pound, using his fist and elbows to destroy faces, ribs and livers while using his weight and grappling to hold them down from escaping his onslaught.
Kanabo- Kaz usually likes to crush his opponents with his bare hands, but when there are multiple armed adversaries, he has his kanabo to help clean house. Weighing in at fifteen pounds, the baseball-bat -sized iron-studded club is used to break bones and bust skulls. While it is normally slow and sluggish in an average man's hands, the physically gifted Kaz is able to wield it one-handed like a sword although he prefers using it two-handed for more control and power. In addition to being a good melee weapon, it also compliments his earthbending, sometimes using it to hit levitated rocks like a baseball at ranged targets.

Being tall and physically well-built, Kaz is an imposing figure at first sight. His broad shoulders compliment his well defined treps and his wide well-toned chest. His arms are lanky yet muscled and full of power and having a very terrifying reach. His legs, just like his arms, are long yet also sturdy, giving him great balance and preventing him from being top heavy. His face can be passed as attractive but not handsome or cute due to his rugged looks. He has broad,high cheekbones and with a nose that is a bit small for his face. His eyes are an unusual bright green and almond-shaped. Kaz's hair is a light brown and shaggy with spiked bangs that cover his forehead. The only thing that keeps his body from looking like perfection are the scars that litter his back, chest, and stomach. Due to his criminal life, at only 25, he had suffered multiple stab wounds, cuts from sharp rocks, slashes, and even small burns from gang wars and people wanting revenge from the pain his crimes has caused. His biggest scar and the one he is most proud of is on his back which runs from his left shoulder and goes diagonally down to his right hip. It was given to him by a swordsman in a gang fight that was able to get a surprise on him. Unfortunately for the swordsman, his attack didn't finish the job and he paid his price for giving Kaz the decorative mark on his back.
His attire is quite simple and plain, almost unfitting for a drug lord of his wealth that gives him the low profile he desires. His first layer of clothing for his torso is a plain black short-sleeved shirt with his second layer being a dark blue collared jacket is rather unique in style yet plain in appearance so it would not garner too much attention. Kaz's lower body only consists of black cloth pants and a leather belt. He hardly ever wears shoes so he has perfect access to his seismic sense but will wear a pair of dark brown boots on rare occasion or if going somewhere that requires his feet protected like harsh climates and terrain.

* Early Life *Kaz was born to two individuals who were ill-equipped when it came to traits that attributed to being parents. His father was a young fire nation noble who was visiting Ba Sing Se to visit a family member residing there. It would be at Ba Sing Se where he would meet a beautiful yet poor earth bending woman. Lusting for her, they spent the night together which would result in the woman being pregnant with twins, Kazuya and his sister Asumi . The young noble was immature and fearing the responsibility of being a father, left the woman on her own to take care of the two children. The mother was heart-broken and her dreams of living a wealthy life with the noble were crushed by the unwanted children. She hated them, despite having given birth to the twins and being their mother. Both Kazuya and Asumi had no love for the abusive drunken woman and found it better to live on the streets than under her roof. At the age of seven, they left the place they refused to call home and only one of them would return years later.
The twins, while being brother and sister and in the same harsh situation, did not stick together and went off on their own. Kazuya cared only about surviving and being able to eat, and became a pickpocket and a thief, usually stealing from outdoor vendors in the Lower Ring or unsuspecting adults that looked like they had a bit of coin in their pocket. His sister left to the Middle Ring, hoping to find a new family that would save her from poverty. Due to her cute and adorable looks even while she was filthy, a financially-comfortable Middle Ring Family ended up adopting her. The couple didn't have knowledge that she had a twin brother because she never told as she thought it would decrease her chances of being taken in, having no concern for the well-being of her brother and only looking out for number one. Kazuya was the same way and didn't even know what happened to his sister, only caring about making it to the next morning.
It would be a year later at the age of eight when Kazuya would discover he could earth bend after playing with some rocks out of boredom. He felt he had a small connection with the earth and through it, he was able earth bend. At his young age he was a complete novice at best , only able to levitate pebbles and even then, it took great concentration. In between stealing and pickpocketing, he would find the time to practice lifting pebbles and small rocks with his bending. Without a teacher, it was harder for him to really understand how to properly earth bend, and would be quite some time before he would get the hang of it.
Being alone and poor on the Lower Ring streets, Kazuya got into a lot of fights with other kids who made fun of him for not having anyone. He lost his first few fights as he was usually out-numbered but he grew tougher with each beating and became a decent scrapper for being only eight years old. Impressed with his pickpocket skills and his toughness, he was eventually recruited into a gang of boys led by a eleven year old named Ryu. The gang known as the Lower Ring Boys, were made up of poor orphan kids like Kazuya and worked together to survive through pickpocketing and stealing as a team. The gang would end up being the closest thing to a family he would have and would become like a younger brother to Ryu.
* Getting in the Business *It was only after two years until a change would become of the Lower Ring Boys. Tired of only living off of stealing and not having a consistent, the now thirteen year old Ryu struck a deal with the owner of the local herbal shop and small time drug dealer, Mama Jiao. Selling her drugs on the corners of the Lower Ring streets, Mama Jiao would ay the Boys a percentage of the sells as long as they worked as her dealers. Ryu being the leader of the LRB was also the leader of their dealing crew and collected the money that the rest of the gang made and would turn it in to Mama Jiao who would then pay them their percentage. Being ten years old, Kazuya was quickly adapted to his new role as a dealer and started to learn the basic principals of business selling the special herbs on the corners to addicts that roamed the Lower Ring.
Even though the Lower Ring was the poorest part of Ba Sing Se, the gang was profitable and making some decent money to afford better clothes than the torn rags they wore and were able to have two meals a day consistently, never having to worry about starving. However, their success spawned the jealousy and envy of other youth gangs in Lower Ring which resulted in brawls involving children and young teenagers. The LRB won all of these brawls and started growing with more members and expanded in mote corners with their product. Kazuya didn't mind as it meant more money, but he did feel the LRB were losing their brotherly bond which didn't effect him as much as he thought it would. He was just happy that he had money ,he had food and he had people he could count on.
* The Rise of Kazuya *.
Six years went by with Kazuya being sixteen years old. Puberty was good to him as he was very strong and big for a teen his age. His earth-bending and fighting skills grew and he was promoted to chief enforcer to Ryu after proving his fighting abilities in gang fights in the Lower Ring over territory. He started also catching the eye of Mama Jiao who was impressed with his silent yet brutal attitude and his talents as an enforcer and problem solver. She also saw something Ryu did not, and that was Kazuya's business sense and his growing skill as a leader. Seeing Kazuya as the future, she took him under her wing without Ryu's knowledge and taught him about the basics of herbalism and apothecary in order for him to have complete knowledge over the product he was selling. Not only did he learn their full effects on the human body, but also on how to grow the herbs and which environments in the world they were found naturally. As grateful as Kazuya was for Mama Jiao's teachings, he was concerned why she taught him and not Ryu, his leader and who he thought was Jiao's protege.
The answer to Kaz's concerns would arrive soon enough when Ryu started taking the very drugs his gang was selling. Under the influence of the drugs, his ego as leader became too big and his minor insecurities of his leadership status increased to extreme paranoia . Once proud of Kazuya as his right hand man, that pride slowly became jealousy. He no longer felt he was on top as he was not stupid and realized that Mama Jiao and the members of the gang were looking up more to Kaz than himself. The once humble and strong leader became spiteful and paranoid, having thoughts of Kazuya taking over and putting him out of the picture. This paranoia got the best of him and ordered some of the LRB he thought were loyal to him to take out Mama Jiao and Kazuya. Unfortunately, one of the members wasn't loyal as he thought and the member informed Mama Jiao of Ryu's actions. Now knowing Ryu's plans and the members that were ordered to hit them, Mama Jiao and Kazuya created a plan of their own to take down the LRB leader turned traitor.
Taking advantage of Ryu not knowing that they were on to him, Mama Jiao and Kazuya invited him for tea in Mama Jiao's herb shop. Ryu accepted the invitation as he thought it would be the perfect time to assassinate the two. What Ryu didn't count on was seeing the bodies of his hitmen in the shop with Mama Jiao standing over them. Before he could turn around to run, Kazuya appeared behind Ryu and snapped his neck in one fluid motion. With Ryu killed, Kazuya became the new leader of the LRB. His leadership only lasted for five seconds as he disbanded the LRB to reform it into a more business oriented and organized drug ring, known as the Xue Shi Organization.
With Mama Jiao as his mentor in herbalism and his knack for business, Kazuya quickly strengthened the Xue Shi's hold of the Lower Ring and even began to expand into the Middle Ring. He would also use the money from his expanded territory to buy out and become the owner of a restaraunt in the Middle Ring, known as Little Basco's. Being the owner of the restraunt, He was able to make legitmate money and launder the money from his drug business through the restraunt. Eventually, his growing drug operation hit its first big problem. The death of Mama Jiao who died from old age. Although she had taught him much, Kazuya would have to take her previous position of getting the right plants and herbs used to produce the drugs which involved a lot of traveling to other villages and even other nations to obtain them.
Currently, Kazuya is one of the biggest Drug Kingpins in Ba Sing Se who is currently trying to expand his operation in the Upper Ring of Ba Sing Se and eventually into other cities and nations.

A rather large finger tapped impatiently against the arm of a wooden chair. Occupying the seat of that chair was Kazuya, staring at the whimpering man kneeling before him. The man had done the unfortunate mistake of trying to steal some of the drugs from one of the Xue Shi dealers and was unsuccessful. Sighing to himself, Kazuya stood up from his seat and walked over to the whimpering figure in front of him. The man tried to retreat backwards on his knees, but feel backwards and landed on his back, completely terrified of Kazuya's large imposing stature. Before the man could scurry further backwards from hims Kaz stomped his foot down hard one the man's left leg, pinning it down. The man yelped as he tried to pull his leg out from under Kaz's large foot.
“Please....let me go sir! I didn't have the money to pay....and I needed the stuff man! I needed it!” The man licked his lips nervously, trying to find the right words to use to convinced the drug kingpin he tried to steal from. Kaz nodded as if he understood the man's reasoning and released his foot from the man's previously trapped leg. The man, seeing this action, smiled with relief.
“T-thank you sir! You are so forgiving! I won't forget this!”Kaz continued to stare at the man, his face almost completely blank from emotion except for his eyes that were filled with a quiet anger.
“Yeah I'm sure you won't. I'll let ya go. No problem at all. There is just one small condition...” Kaz's fist clenched as took one step back from the man.
“Ya just need to bow to me. That's all there is to it and you free to go.'” The man nodded his head raplidly, still smiling with gratitude.
“Oh that's all sir? Of course! As you wish! Yeah! As you wish!” The man, still on his knees, leaned forward and bowed in front of the kingpin.
As the man bowed, Kaz's right foot lifted up before violently dropping down on the back of the man's head, obliterating the man's face as it was stomped into the floor. The man's body went limped as blood splattered from his head. Kaz frowned as he looked down the now fresh corpse.
“Dumb bastard. A real man don't bow to another man. If you knew that, you'd probably be livin' right now.” He then turned around began to walk away although not before muttering a few words.
“If ya gonna steal, don't steal from somebody that did it for a living. Jackasses these days...”Character Box:
