Full Name:
Kurokon Shikyo
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Element: Fire-Lightning
Birthplace: Ba Sing Se
Position: Pirate Captain
Training: Hand to Hand - Intermediate, Bending - Expert, Swordsmanship - Expert
Personality: (1507) One of
Kurokon's main features is his incredible intelligence. Kuro is known for his fast paced logic, and instant strategizing. He is known to be an incredible genius, able to understand and formulate various scientific theories in record time. When he learned by tutors, he was usually the one correcting them. In many circles, he would be considered a true genius, one who uses logic to think rather than memory. Kuro, while intelligent, does not boast it about, preferring to sit and watch quietly, attempting to understand those he observes. He is noted for his near perfect understanding of human emotions, which allows him to mediate arguments and fights. However, he loves to confuse people by making contradicting statements. Even if they are not confused with the statement, Kuro will be happy to find someone who can at least amuse him. Kuro, unfortunately, overestimates other people's intelligence, meaning he assumes, incorrectly, that they hold the same logic and knowledge that he does. This causes problems for him when trying to predict people and their reactions. Kuro is the type of genius who sees solutions rather than problems. In other words, he doesnt see a problem as a true problem, but as a new game, a new challenge.
His memory, without a doubt, is the single most conflicting thing about him. He can often recall things from years ago with startling accuracy, but forgets things that happened just the day before. Kuro calls it a data memory, while he says most normal people have picture memories. He can recall important things that happened, and picture them in his head, but in exchange, he forgets mundane and uninteresting things rather easily. He calls this a data memory due to the fact that he knows what happened, but cannot always recall smaller details, comparing himself to machines. He often jokes about how bad his memory is, since he cannot remember mundane things easily.
One of Kuro's more astounding attributes is his emotional control. While most who say they control their emotions suppress, or destroy them, Kuro truly changes what emotions he feels at a specific moment with little trouble. He can smile at a friend's death, or weep at his enemy's. He is usually smiling and jovial due to this. This particularly makes emotional attacks against Kuro nearly useless, unless they target his anger. Kuro explains his emotional control as a willpower based control. He creates emotions from willpower, in layman's terms, he feels what he wants by wanting to feel it. When asked why he is able to control his emotions, he will usually remark with a sarcastic "I'm me, thats why"
In truth, Anger is the single emotion Kuro does not have complete control over. While he is not able to control his anger, he is able to control his actions when angry, to a degree. If something absolutely enrages him, he will probably not stop himself from murdering someone, on the other hand, if someone annoys him slightly, he could turn the anger at the person into amusement of their stupidity. His family has all had anger issues, and when angry, they do not lose focus of anything, instead, they focus their anger onto something and target the subject of their anger with all their powers, mental and, sometimes, physical.
Kuro believes in an eye for an eye, but doesnt do it. He believes that everything has a good side, and anything is justifiable, given the right reasons. He finds little wrong with killing, even in cold blood, but is against imprisonment. His morals are conflicting and confusing to others, but he sticks by them. He understands that not everyone is the same in this manner. He believes that everyone is a different version of him, meaning he uses their consciousness as a connection. Kuro could torture a child with little moral consequences, if the child was truly evil, but he does not believe in killing someone defenseless unless they truly deserve it. Although conflicting, and somewhat pacifistic, Kuro is willing to get the job done by any means necessary. He will kill anyone who stands in his way without mercy. While he doesnt kill innocents, usually at least, he will not care if they get caught in the crossfire.
Kuro believes loyalty is one of the most admirable characteristics there are. While he doesnt care for national loyalty, he does admire friendship, partnership, or any kind of loyal relationship. He absolutely loathes any form of betrayal that is directed at a friend or someone close. To him, disloyalty is a reason to die. It does not count if a pirate wishes to leave his captain, but if a friend sells him out, he will not show any mercy. Regardless of his love for loyalty, Kuro doesnt look down on mercenaries. He believes that respect, and loyalty, are earned, not given, which is why he doesnt like many soldiers.
A larger flaw of Kuro, he can get bored if he is not actively doing something, making him learn different things to alleviate the boredom, or fight. He hates stagnation, and always tries to do something to keep from stagnating himself. He will get bored fast, and whenever he is bored, he does random things to entertain himself, these things include embarrassing, confusing, or just fighting other people, eating random but tasty food, or developing new theories and ideas.
Kuro's single fear is the fear of being bored. Not necessarily being bored, but being unable to alleviate boredom. As such, he is always trying to keep from being bored, which allows him to find trivial and usually stupid things fun. The reason he fears boredom is simple, boredom is the lack of doing anything, to him at least. He fears boredom because it is the single thing he cannot beat in any way. He is not deathly afraid of being bored, but hates it. This is the reason he hates imprisonment, because it causes extreme boredom.
In order to further alleviate the constant stagnation he so fears, he often listens to music, loving fast paced and meaningful music more than anything. He believes music is a definite thing in this world, something that always changes, as such, it is the opposite of stagnation, causing him to hold most music in high regards. While he loves most music, any music without meaning, or lyrics, to him, is a disrespectful abomination.
One would think with anger problems, hatred would be a common concept, but for Kuro, hatred is a foreign idea. He can only say he hates boredom, which is an idea rather than anything physical. He cannot hate someone for who they are, or what they believe. He is incapable of truly hating anything other than boredom. This is what allows him to forgive his friends for simple problems. Since he is incapable of hatred, he is often remarked as a innocent soul, at least until he eats the child next door because fuck it.
Love, to Kuro, is complicated. It is both confusing and simple to him, meaning he can love people, but will not understand it. He often gets embarrassed or confused by someone showing him such emotions. This embarrassment could be eliminated with his control, but in non-battle situations he finds it useful in his attempts to understand what love truly is.
Although he has perfect control over his emotions, he does not have that level of control over his thoughts. In truth he has very little control over what he thinks or pictures in his mind. His mind often wanders because of this, allowing him to become distracted by simple things that he finds amusing. His lack of control over his thoughts results in random incredibly insane ideas coming forth. This furthers his intelligence by allowing him to think of indirect connections from one theory to another. He gets entertained from other people's madness as well, and often strikes friendships with those who have similar insanity.
Kuro is able to predict people who he knows well enough. He often tests people he doesnt know by asking them seemingly mundane questions to test both intelligence, and personality. He can tell what to do when someone is in an emotional breakdown, usually. Although he has flawed understanding of love, control of anger, and lack of hate, he is able to understand other people's feelings rather easily.
Kuro is able to smoothly lie with a straight face and perfect tone, as if he was telling the truth. Unfortunately for him, this eliminates his credibility with those who know him, but do not fully trust him. He often lies about mundane things to protect either himself or others from embarrassment or other trouble. With this great skill at lying, comes the ability to see through lies others tell. He can often tell if someone is lying, but doesnt usually remark on it unless he deems it important. When he lies to his friends, it is often small mundane things. He uses these lies to test their lie reading ability.
Abilities: (289) Kuro was a born swordsman, fast, agile, and accurate. Kuro is one of the more intelligent and analytical people in the world. Kuro is also one of the few people to lightning bend, but where most people barely are able to use it, it is Kuro's base bending style. This is because of his conflicting, yet balanced personality. Many claim that lightning bending requires a blank slate of mind, but a balanced one can work just as well. In this, his chi is more aligned to lightning than fire, but he is still able to use fire as one would use lightning. In simpler terms, Kuro's chi of fire has switched with lightning, meaning that, while lightning bending is as easy to him as firebending is to an expert, firebending is as difficult as lightning bending would be to an expert.
Many people have a skill mentally that sets them apart. For Kuro, it would be both his insane control over his emotions, and his strange detection of lies. While neither is perfect, both are incredibly useful. Both, however, come with drawbacks. Kuro, due to his emotional control, despises those who cannot control themselves in a decent manner, cause friction between him and pretty much anyone. One major problem with his lie detecting would be simply how reliant he may become on it. If he cannot detect the lie, and its not completely obvious, he will most likely believe the person, whether they are enemies or not. His style of fighting, thanks to his proficiency in lightning bending, involves mostly circular movements, to generate the lightning. This includes his sword fighting. Since he mostly uses his sword, his upper body strength is at high levels, like any proficient swordsman.
Appearance:
Kurokon has a thin body, but not even a little feminine. His arms and legs are long, his chest and abdomen seem to fit the archetype that a masculine body would be, being almost triangular in shape. His shoulders are broader than his abdomen, but not overly so. He is of above average height for adults, at 6'2"
Kurokon has an aristocratic face, with sharp features. He usually has his hair swept back in spikes, but when it is flat, he looks almost exactly like his brother. When he speaks, his mouth moves very little. His eyes are a gray-blue color, often changing between the two depending on the light. His hair is thick and white, exactly like his brother's.
Kurokon often wears dark clothing, usually black or blue. Sometimes he may even choose a darker red, but usually refrains because it is how most people distinguish him and his brother from each other. Kuro's posture is calm yet stiff. He often stuffs his hands in his pockets or simply holds his sword while supporting his other hand by placing it on his pants. Kuro's clothing is most commonly a black pair of pants, with a dark blue sleeveless vest, and an overcoat of a middle blue color. The coat is decorative and elegant, used for both formality and fighting. He wears fingerless gloves, a shade of brown much brighter than his brother's.

Kurokon Shikyo was born first, spite the twin features they were born about a good year apart. I won’t really go that much into detail about his parents, just listen to the story – a year later Kaigen Shikyo was born and they were the only two children of there generation in that area. Know what that meant? They were scold by like EVERYBODY to be a great Scholars, to be a great example to Blah Blah and Blah, and for the first 7 years of there lives they couldn't stand even the word book because of there family expectations.
They never wanted to be Scholars ya know? They were young and didn't know what they wanted, they watched earth bending and Kaigen himself the younger brother was interested in such - However
Kurokon was not. They were a middle class family, No real hopes or dreams to achieve but to shut their parents up. Age 12 for
Kurokon and age 11 for Kaigen is when they went on their yearly boat trip across the sea to visit a long lost relative of the brothers uncle. So to fast forward it up just a bit for you, on the way there while on the waters they were attacked - More like beat up and
Kurokon was snatched due to him being the older brother. His parents changed their minds and when they got there to the boys uncle - They kept Kaigen there and fleed to find
Kurokon in the hopes that Kaigen and his uncle could bond. His Uncle was a Monk and was then placed under his uncle wing. Meanwhile,
Kurokon smart mouth actually impressed the king of the pirate crew he was held prisoner in - There was then a sensei student bond there and the training of being a ruthless pirate began. Both of the two brothers trained two completely different styles, two different ways but with one dream of reuniting with each other. Age 17 came for Kaigen and he left the temple in search for his older brother, sadly he made an attempt and failed. The Monks did not approve of not only the reasons of him leaving due to in there own words of saying 'You aren't well trained enough to leave the temple.' Kaigen was taken as their prisoner, his motive was to leave and he wasn't trained enough to do it single handed - Though his older brother was already searching for him and with the help of his pirate crew they were able to locate and bust through the walls of the temple -
Kurokon had connection and power like that in the seas at the time.
Kurokon and Kaigen Fled out into the seas - Where their journey as not only fighters but brothers begin anew.
**OPTIONAL**Sample RP: She had accepted the promise, with all its responsibilities. Kuro couldnt say it was a wise move, but it took some damn courage. Did she fully understand all the hardships she would face on the path she wanted? The misery she would see? Feel? If she did, then she had earned Kuro's respect right there. She would not be his master, no. When Minatsuki was his master, he let himself be warped by her, to be changed. No more, he would change himself, with her as a guide. She would guide him to the light from his darkness, but he would, in turn, make sure she stayed on that path. That was his position now, a fence to keep people on a path, and out of the danger. What better weapon against the darkness, than one who controls darkness? Okay, technically the darkness they needed a weapon against was metaphorical, but who else had actually been so deep in their sins that they had a room based around it? Even so, Kuro's Excussum was an incredibly dangerous skill, but even without it, he would still be an S ranked shinobi, dangerous to even other S ranks, so with it, he was... Not a god. He was a... a sage. Yes, a sage. Just like in the past, the sages had often gone from the greatest of evil, to the greatest of good, and that fit him rather well. The sage of darkness? Eh, itd work for now. However, he still needed to find a pair of Mangekyou eyes, but this time, he would look for nonviolent solutions. After all, Koroshi had said trading eyes would work, and it would be a good offer to switch eyes with someone.
Kuro put his hand on Misaki's shoulder. "Believe me when I say this. Believe what you will about Minatsuki, she may have been cruel to her enemies, and even to nuetrals, but she loved everyone who was close to her. You, your father, her family. All of you, she loved. I have no doubt about that. She never said anything about you to me, but then, I never asked." Kuro smiled down at her. "The way she treated Kurisu showed me that she had nothing but love for her family, and I have no doubt that included you. I think she would be proud." Kuro took his hand off of her shoulder, and shook her hand. "I trust you understand how difficult the path you have laid before you will be, so I shall not warn you. However, a piece of advice. Trust those close to you, and hold them close." To those who knew Kuro, it was a new occurrence for him to be so polite and caring. It was true, or at least had been in the past. From now on, he resolved to himself to be different. For too long, he had let himself mope about and take his emotions out on people, now he was through with that. He always wanted to be a leader, so now he would be one, no more hiding in the shadows, he would protect this village. He was easily the most capable person at the moment, being able to teleport any people who needed away from the village during an attack away, being able to conjure up solid walls of darkness to stall any attacks. He had always used his darkness for offence, but in reality, it was just as good when it was defensive, but it was best, when it was both. That was the idea for his new armor, protecting while attacking.
Kuro turned to Yaju, and spoke softly. "we all have had our darkness, the key is to move on, I suppose. Each day you let yourself regret it, you run the chance of losing who you are. Embrace yourself, and change yourself to be who you want to be. You love to fight? Fight without killing unnecessarily. You love to argue? Argue in good faith. You love to train? Train with a friend, help them grow just as strong as you." Kuro grinned. "Because when you get strong, you start missing being able to let loose without killing." It was true, he hadnt really let loose in quite a while. It was painful being so controlled, having to watch even when he touched people for fear his strength would harm them. Admittedly, before, he barely controlled himself, just enough to keep from harming his allies, which, lately, had decreased in number until it was only himself. Sure he had been something of a friend to Kurisu, but they barely spoke. Same thing with Valerie and his group. Hell, even Koroshi. None of those people had any trust in Kuro, nor did he have any trust in them. It was to be expected, since they had only met once or twice, and even then, not for long. Misaki now had a bit of trust, as did Yaju. Misaki had shown him something he hadnt seen since... ever. Hope, the hope for change, for a new beginning, something Kuro wished he had earlier. To change himself from that raging beast before. Something in him now, felt... calm. Yaju reminded Kuro of himself, hell he sounded like himself when he was back with Minatsuki. It was... disturbing. Yaju, however, was willing to show his regrets, while Kuro spoke nothing of them, and took it all out on people. During that time, only Minatsuki was really safe near him.
Kuro looked at the two of them, and smiled. If they had continued down the paths they were on before, he had little doubt they would have ended up like Kuro and Minatsuki had, but this event had changed them... and him. "If either of you ever need my help, you have but to ask. For now, I am going to need to research these eyes, and no more human experimentation... well, unwilling at least." After all, he would STILL experiment on himself, and probably give other people some enhancements that came from his experiments, if they asked. Before, he held everything he knew for himself, but now, he had decided, he was going to spread his knowledge, and make the village as an entirety more powerful. He was still a scientist, but now he was a humane scientist. Some may considering what he did inhumane, but only because they did not understand biology or any science really. Any uneducated person would call surgery inhumane if they didnt understand it. It was strange, the ways minds worked. Perhaps he should start some experiments with those. Human reactions always interested him, but these experiments would probably be mostly surveys, so he would still have time for other things, like these thrice damned eyes of his. No, not the byakugan in his chest, but the Mangekyou. There had to be a way to prevent blindness, otherwise he would swear off those jutsu, regardless of how useful they were. No jutsu was worth losing his eyesight, although... He needed to test if those jutsu effected his byakugan eye. If they didnt, he would still be able to use the jutsu, but he would have to stop before he went blind, otherwise he doubted hed ever be able to heal from that blindness. "You think I have no need to thank you, but you have no idea what you have done for me." Kuro smiled softly. It was a dark moment, but it was brightening, just like him.
Character Box:
Kurokon Shikyo
|
People were stupid. Really, they had tried to rebuild a village right next to an ocean. Not just any ocean, but one which was known for tidal waves that caused the first village to be crushed. Even worse, it was being built on sand. What was Kuro's reaction to all this? Set up a picnic and watch the fools fail again. It happened quite a bit lately. Honestly after the third time, he was genuinely shocked that no one had the sense to move the location. Sure people was stupid, but there had to be a limit, right? Apparently, if there was, they hadnt quite reached it yet. Normally Kuro would be doing something more productive, but damn if it was funny.
He had even tried to help them out, but good lord, they kept going on and on about how it was tradition or some such bullshit. What good was tradition if the tradition killed everyone who tried keeping it alive? Kuro just didnt understand people. He glanced out to sea, and grinned. He had made sure he was far enough away to escape the wrath of any tidal wave, so he had little worries. As the massive wave utterly destroyed the sixth attempt to rebuild a village, Kuro found himself glad that he didnt understand them. Some things even he didnt want to know.
