Personality: Outgoing from a young age, Tashi 0stuck out amongst the younger airbenders at the temple not because of his bending abilities, but his social skills and thirst for knowledge. Outwardly, he is humorous and charming, though his closest friends know that his inner demons are never at rest. A rootless depression exists within him, hidden to most.

Possessive is another word one might use to describe Tashi. He can be aggressively possessive of ideas and people. These behaviors initially took him out of favor with the monks, though he's gradually learned to reduce them, or hide them from his overseers.

A sarcastic humor and quick wit make him a fascinating conversationalist.

Just as at home in a social gathering as in a laboratory, he sees his airbending more as a supplement to his studies, predominantly astronomy and cartography. Being born with a larger frame means that Tashi must either work to keep it muscular, contrary to the nature of airbending, or let himself become plump. Therefore, exercise is an important part of the day. He can often be found hiking up and down the mountains housing the temples without the use of airbending.
