Personality: Restless, ridiculously competitive, arrogant, condescending, easily-angered, talkative, loud. Always needs to be moving and hates being restrained. She is fun and adventurous and very outgoing. She has many groups of friends and is a natural leader. However, within a few days of knowing her, it is clear that she has an attitude problem. She can be really sarcastic, condescending, and very inconsiderate. She has a problem with authority - especially when she feels they don’t deserve to be in an authoritative position - and is frustrated by nonsensical things. She’s actually frustrated quite easily by the smallest things around her. When she is corrected or offended, she becomes very spiteful and does everything in her power to verbally destroy her offender’s image with snarky off-hand remarks. Underneath her sometimes hurtful exterior, she has a lot of bottled up emotions from all the difficult times in her life and is scared to express them because bad things have happened when she does. She sees her emotions as weakness and is subconsciously worried that people will think she’s a complete joke when they get to know her. She’d rather be hated than pitied.

Abilities: She has had to train herself how to bend for most of her life. She’s always been really good at learning new things, so she’s confident in her airbending skills. She is ambitious and competitive, but if she lets her negative personality traits come through, working as a team will be nearly impossible. She is critical of the people around her, so she always wants to be the leader. To her, not being a leader means she has to play by someone else’s rules, and she hates that more than anything in the world. She is an aggressive, unlikable person sometimes, but she does her best to pretend that she’s not annoyed by this person’s blank look or that person’s nervous twitching. She lacks adaptability and isn’t too good at empathizing with people. Sometimes she just can’t let things go.

She is a fan of loose-fitting clothes that sway in the breeze and always tries to wear a scarf with whatever outfit she has on. Jyla is rather fashionable, and carries herself confidently. This and the occasional unfriendly or condescending glint in her dark gray eyes have really intimidated her more passive friends and acquaintances in the past. Her wavy, light brown hair frames her angled, pale face, and falls to the bottom of her shoulder blades. It tends to take to the wind and move freely, and that’s just the way she likes it. She wouldn’t be caught dead in a hat or a ponytail because she would miss the feeling of her hair flowing like a cape behind her as she walked. She is frequently seen wearing long skirts, loose dresses, shirts with extra-long sleeves, and scarves. In the Fire Nation, she straightens her hair and cuts it messily, and discovers a new fondness for tall boots and hooded coats.

History: Born near the east border of the Earth Kingdom, she was raised by a businessman father obsessed with his reputation to other people. When she first discovered that she was a bender, he told her to not use her gift. She never understood why, and eventually concluded that he was embarrassed by her and really didn’t want to have an airbender for a child. Their relationship frayed from there, and every day she would disobey him and he would scold her and place even more rules on her and the fight would escalate until her father realized the neighbors could probably hear them yelling and dropped it, or Jyla stormed out. She avoided home a lot, and turned to her friends for relief, but many were just as restrained, or stubborn, or boring. After a particularly bad night, Jyla and her father fought again, but something snapped inside and in her enraged state she started a tornado that destroyed half of the little town she lived in. Horrified, she flew as far away from the town as she could, and ended up at the Western Air Temple. [the following is open for editing to better fit the RP world] She is welcomed into the temple by her airbending peers, and believes she will live a much better life with the Air Nomads. Three years pass and she still feels restrained. All of her peers want to earn their tattoos, but she has no interest in the rituals the monks lead, or the rules the teachers pushing on her. She can’t stand abiding by all of them and is constantly being corrected and punished for messing up and stressing out during “calming” rituals for a religion she doesn’t believe in anyway. She feels suppressed, so she starts acting out, and becomes and overly aggressive, insensitive, irritable nightmare to the point that her favorite teacher – the one that tolerated her when other wouldn’t and still believed she was a good kid deep down – blows up at her and demands she leaves and never returns. This shocks and hurts Jyla (far more than she expected), so she flees and eventually wanders into the Fire Nation. She finds some clothes and poses as a non-bender to try and start a new life, but uses her bending to quickly steal food or money.

Yeah, everything seems alright. However you're under the word count for personality. You need a minimum of 140 words, you only have 113. It's also up for debate whether or not she would be welcomed into the temple so easily, but I don't see that as a glaring issue so i'll let it slide.
