Personality: An easy-going, kindhearted, patient young man, Tiliq is well liked, making friends easily. He trained hard for years to become a strong bender, and is viewed as one of the more reliable fighters in his villaige. He is accepting of other cultures, and doesn't mind lectures, waiting, or other time consuming things.

He can be stern when need be, and stands his ground in combat, taking pride in his abilities. The person he admires most is his father, who was of Earthbending heritage. He respects the strenght and standoffish nature of earthbending.

Although he is not a steadfast patriot, he loves his home, and would face terrible odds to defend it. Not without faults, he can be shortsighted, lazy, and a stickler for rules.

He is intuitive, and easily influenced by people around him in order to fit in and gain favor. It is far from an insideous agenda, he simply wants to be liked, and make sure nothing is awry. He can be a bit forgetful.

His kindness is tempered by survival instinct and pragmaticism. He will kill in self defense if cornered, but he prefers to avoid deadly force if necessary, and would never deal a lethal blow to someone who wasn't a threat. He avoids fights with clearly inferior opponents unless necessary, but he will beat someone if it will detur them from causing trouble in the future. In single combat against non-benders, he will fight without his bending in order to even the playing field (unless they're god tier with a weapon, and he has no other choice but to strike back seriously).

He loves hearty, or spicy meals like earth nation noodles, meat, and vegetables, fire nation peppers, and stew, and dislikes things that are too sweet or bland. He enjoys abstract art, and has a mild fear of flying. He loves sliding and ramping on ice, but he hates being wet.

Abilities: Tiliq trained with his peers under a waterbending master. His emphasis on the use of added force made him an intimidating fixture among his classmates, and he rose to the top quickly. His style employ the usual broad sweeps, smooth motion, and redirection of power as is typical of waterbenders, but his motions tend to be faster, harder, and sometimes simple and straightforward, applying force rather than redirecting in order to knock an opponent offguard, or end the fight with powerful, inelegant blows.

He learned these traits from his father, and practiced compressing water into solid ice. When fighting with an abundance of water or ice, he tends to battle like an earthbender, using simple brute force and jabbing movements. He can create spikes, ramps, and freeze water to make platforms and columns to run on.

He is an intimidating hand to hand combatant as well, utilizing either waterbending martial arts consisting of broad sweeps and kicks, or he'll simply overpower the enemy with simple, straightforward brutality. He is skilled in grappling and wrestling as well. He is trained to wield small weapons, such as blunt clubs, or short blades. He tends to avoid using weaponry, but if his life is on the line, he is not above cutting someone down.

In battle, whether he's bending or fighting hand to hand, he keeps his right foot forward, fighting southpaw. He has excellent balance, and can speed himself up by sliding around on ice while attacking.

A young man in his prime, Tiliq is fairly handsome. Of average height (if a bit short), he has broad shoulders, and a healthy coat of muscle on his bones. He has a button nose, straight, neat eyebrows, and he cuts his hair short to keep it out of the way. His teeth are straight and clean, and he has a pair of scars across his eyebrow and right cheek from an attack from a dark spirit. He often wears a blank, relaxed expression, or a smile.

He wears a brown and grey cap with a short brim, and a pair of sunglasses to keep the sun out of his eyes. His wardrobe typically consists of a black tee shirt, blue, loose fabric pants, brown boots, and a blue fur cardigan jacket. He usually takes his cardigan off when fighting to keep his arms flexible, but he'll forgo this if he's in the cold. He may not wear it altogether in warmer areas like republic city.

He usually walks with one hand stuffed in his pocket, and keeps his right foot slightly forward when standing (a tick he developed from years of fighting). He hates bulky or skimpy clothing, preferring a comfortable middleground. He tends to make eye contact as much as possible when people talk.

History: Born to an Earth Nation father and a Water Tribe mother, Tiliq never got to know his dad during early childhood, and resented the man for it for the first few years of his life. He lived comfortably with his mother, aunts, and cousins. When his affinity for waterbending was discovered, he was sent to a school where he was trained as a warrior.

At first an average, laid back student, Tiliq was given an advantage by his father, who visited one day and gave him scrolls of Earth and Firebending techniques. Incorporating those movements into his own waterbending made him more powerful than his peers, and he was praised as a genious.

His father visited him again, and Tiliq taught him how to fish and fly a kite, allowing the two to bond for the first time in their lives. Tiliq discovered that his father wanted to be a part of his life, and sent him letters he was too young to remember. Tiliq tearfully forgave his father, who stayed for a year. Together, the pair of them traded knowledge of earth and waterbending, taking Tiliq's icebending skills to a new level, and teaching him hard-style hand-to-hand fighting. His father departed to Earth country, and the two stay in touch when they can.

One day, he was attacked by a strong dark spirit, and though he was able to defeat the beast, he was slashed across the face and nearly blinded. His eye was mended, but he still bears the scar as a painful reminder of the strength of a dark spirit.

Tiliq is now one of the most reliable sentinels in his medium sized town.
