Full Name:
Chouhi Kayashi
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Element: 24 Inch Katana Blade named Lunar
Birthplace: Omashu
Position: Owns an unpopular inn
Training: (List bending/weapon tier(s) here)
Personality:
Drunk- Ever since
Chouhi had turned nineteen (19), she had been drinking every night she could get her hands on alcohol. She's often seen either hungover or completely intoxicated, meaning she's either moody or giddy. Her drinking habits aren't supplemented well by her low income, and her constant drunken state is common gossip in the Fire Nation. She knows that if she stops stops drinking as often and focuses more on her inn, the customer will increase, but she claims that she, "can't part with her baby". She drinks to prevent herself from having nightmares.
Dependent- She often depends on the manager she hired to run the inn in her stead because she's rarely there.
Chouhi has been dependent ever since she was a child, when her mother used to do everything for her up until she was eleven (11). She lacks independence due to this, however, today she can take care of herself. When she does go to the inn, she usually sits in the lobby or walks around the halls looking for nothing in particular. Being dependent doesn't affect her fighting style much because she is always fighting alone.
Cool-Headed- Despite her being a drunken fool forty-nine (49) percent of the day,
Chouhi isn't hot-headed. The shortest amount of time it took to make her snap was ten hours, and that was only because she wasn't hungover nor drunk. By being able to keep a cool head, during a fight she'll think before she acts at all times. The one thing that gets on her nerves fast is someone who doesn't follow the orders she gives.
Humorous-
Chouhi likes to tell jokes when she's drunk, fighting, or just having a normal conversation. The jokes are always lame, but she tells them without a care in the world. There was once a rumor that she even scared off a potential customer with a horrible joke.
Happy-Go-Lucky- If you are ever looking to have a fun night (and not in
that way), you can always find
Chouhi mouthing off in some bar. It might not be the company you want, but it is surely better than being alone.
Mooch- Seeing as she runs an unpopular inn,
Chouhi constantly tries to mooch money off of people. Whether it be for food or alcohol, she won't stop asking until the bars open. On the days when she doesn't fall asleep on the side of a road,
Chouhi sleeps at her inn.
Entomophobia (Insectophobia) - Due to an experience as a child,
Chouhi has an outrageous fear of every type of bug. She becomes extremely vulnerable and frightened when she sees one. It's a huge disadvantage during a battle.
Chouhi will sometimes receive nightmares because of this.
Abilities:
Hand to Hand Combat [Beginner] - As someone who has focused more on learning swordsmanship, hand to hand combat was a more secondary skill. From the small amount of teaching she has had in the area,
Chouhi went by the motto, "there is no such thing as a fair fight". Her father had taught her what she knew when she was six (6).
Sword Combat [Intermediate] - At the age of seven (7),
Chouhi found a sword with a red blade to match her red hair. As someone who couldn't bend in a world of benders, she was intent on learning how to use the weapon. She put off her martial arts studies in order to learn how to wield the blade, finally mastering the basics when she was fourteen (14). Since then she has done her best to learn the advanced techniques, but she is in desperate need of a teacher in order to help her learn. Her strikes have considerable force and speed, but can easily be blocked or parried. Her sword was given the name
Lunar because
Chouhi often fights at night and the blade reflects the moon's light.
WeaknessesSandy terrain - The sand slows
Chouhi's movements considerably.
Foggy setting -
Chouhi's eyesight isn't the best, and with an obscured vision her fighting capabilities drop tremendously.
Benders - As
Chouhi is unable to bend elements, benders easily overpower her.
Buggy terrain - If an area favors bugs,
Chouhi will be unable to fight in it.
Appearance:
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 133lbs
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Red
Skin: Partly tanned
Unlike most people in her time,
Chouhi decides to wear revealing clothing. The lack of cloth makes her feel lighter and makes her feel as if she moves faster. She wears a black/brown and white kimono-styled dress that has various cuts and openings all throughout it. She wears black spandex underneath as to not reveal too much. She has an almost shoulder-high glove on he right arm and a regular sized one on her left hand. She also has a black armband on her left arm. She wears black boots with a low heel that have four (4) rings in the top of them. Her hair is usually in a sloppy ponytail with numerous bangs out on the top.

History:
Chouhi was born in Omashu, but her parents quickly migrated to Ba Sing Se four months after her birth to escape the government problems.
Chouhi's mother did everything for the family from doing their laundry to doing their chores.
Chouhi spent her days walking throughout the large town and learning about the different cultures. She often found herself looking into bars or standing outside to watch the people who went in and out. By the time she actually understood what a bar was, she was being taught martial arts by her father. He had said that because she couldn't bend any of the four elements, she had to learn.
Chouhi knew better than to disobey her father, so she followed along with his lessons. As it turned out, she had a knack for fighting. She was brimming with potential that she could reach so easily if she had just continued training, but once she received her sword martial arts was completely forgotten. The blade was without a name and she had found it in an alley way. It was worn out and needed repairs, but she managed to get it fixed up by her birthday.
She asked her father to teach her how to fight with a sword instead, and though he was hesitant, he said okay.
Chouhi's father didn't know much about swordplay, but he taught her the basics that were taught to him. The most he could teach her was how to strike fast and jump away and how to parry weak blows. Once she was able to do them herself with the lowest skill possible, she quit training with her father and branched off to train herself. This training consisted of climbing trees, running through the town, practicing her strike on a tree, and meditating.
When she was ten, her father went out one morning and didn't come back until two nights later. She asked him why, but he said nothing. When she asked her mother, she claimed she didn't know anything. That night
Chouhi found herself swatting at more spiders than usual.
The next morning, her father looked sickly. He was coughing and was pale, but when asked if something was wrong he waved off the question.
Chouhi and her mother ignored the rigorous coughing as they were told. Sitting down at the table next to her father,
Chouhi waited for her mother to finish breakfast. She felt something crawling on her hand and swatted at it, it turned out to be a cockroach. She glanced at her father, who was clutching his throat as if being suffocated.
Chouhi screamed and jumped away as a multitude of insects crawled from out of his mouth and began to cover his face.
Chouhi' mother was frozen still in her spot in fear. It wasn't until her father's head fell against the table that her mother grabbed her hand and they both ran out of the house. People who had heard the scream had gathered outside in a small crowd and were surprised to see the now crying mother and daughter run out of their home. The family of two were devastated. They switched homes after the incident, but
Chouhi's mother changed completely. She stopped functioning to put it simply. Whenever
Chouhi asked her a quetion, all she did was stare off into space and on the occasion she would cry.
Chouhi hated it in her home, and once she turned sixteen (16), she left to live in the Fire Nation Capital City. She had tried to convince her mother to join her, but to no avail.
As she left Ba Sing Se to go to the Capital City,
Chouhi was faced with many bandits on her way. She sharpened her skills as a swordsman as she faced various weapon wielders. Her most difficult fight was when she was only half a day from the Fire Nation, and a stray fire bender attacked her. She received deep burns and barely managed to escape the encounter. The burns were around her eyes, which weakened her eyesight. It ended up taking her two more days to reach her destination due to the injuries.
Chouhi, in need of work, did everything she could to earn a quick buck. She's done things that she's not proud of, but she'll say it was worth it if you ask her. She opened her inn, the Asuka Inn, when she was eighteen (18). It had minor popularity when it first opened, but within a year it became just another hotel. By this time
Chouhi had started drinking, but the tales of her and alcohol had yet to be told and weren't the cause of the drop in customers. She didn't care much about the loss, she claimed that as long as the inn wasn't in debt it didn't matter how many customers came.
And that brings the story to the current day
Chouhi Kayashi, the drunk girl who carries a sword around with her. She'll buy you a drink if you ask nicely.

Chouhi
| The small bar was engulfed in an alcoholic odor that could be smelled from the top of the street, even though it was in the middle. It was that heavy scent that attracted the wandering Chouhi to the bar, her legs moving on their own to the desired destination. She hadn't been able to get her hands on any money throughout the day and could only become drunk from the smells. When she walked into the tiny establishment, she found it half full of burly and capable men. They were scattered all throughout, some at the small round tables and others seated at the bars. Chouhi, slumped over and groaning quietly, dragged herself to the bar and sat in a seat. "What can I get you, Miss?" a grey-haired bartender asked as he walked over. Chouhi looked at him blankly, remembering that she was without money. She looked at the men seated around her with the stare of a ghost, scaring the one on her right out of his seat. She turned her attention to the man on her left, thinking she might be able to mooch some money from him. "You look like you really need that beer," Chouhi commented as she lazily rested her head on her hand, looking at the man with a gaze that enticed him to continue the conversation. "I work in an armory, I need at least three beers a night just to continue functioning," the man replied, taking one long swig of his drink before placing it back on the counter. He eyed Chouhi suspiciously. "What?" Chouhi asked as she read his gaze, "I'm not a thief. All I've come to do was have a nice night in a bar. Here," Chouhi smiled as she sat up, "Let's have a drinking contest. The loser has to pay." The man's eyebrows rose slightly. He examined Chouhi's thin frame, deciding it wasn't capable of holding as much alcohol as his own. After another minute of thinking it over, the man accepted. "Great!" Chouhi smiled and waved over the bartender. "We'll have two beers, and keep them coming after that, please." "Okay," the bartender replied and retrieved the requested items. Chouhi was nearly drooling at the sight of the sweet beer in front of her, counting down in her head until the man would say start so she could delve into her lovely friend. "We'll drink until we fall over," the man said. Chouhi nodded eagerly and grabbed onto the handle of the beer and threw her head back, chugging it all down in one go. The man copied her actions. Once her drink was empty, Chouhi slammed the empty mug down and let out a relieved sigh and small laugh. Twenty-three mugs later, Chouhi was still happily drinking. Her cheeks were tinted red from the alcohol, but otherwise she was fine. The man had started to wobble after his tenth beer, but he didn't fall out of his chair until his fifteenth. Chouhi had been to busy drinking to notice and happily increased the tab the man would pay when he woke up. The other men in the bar had started to cheer her on and were now holding conversation with her. "With a stomach like that I'm surprised you aren't known throughout the bars," One man commented, causing a ripple of laughter through the crowd. "Oh please, anyone here can drink just as much as me any day. Besides, what kind of girl wants to become famous for being an alcoholic?" Chouhi asked with a toothy grin. "Hey, you guys want to hear a joke?" "Go ahead," the group agreed. "What's orange and sounds like a parrot?" she questioned while trying to keep a straight face. When no one responded, she finished the joke, "A carrot!" Chouhi broke out laughing at her own joke, however no one else in the bar moved a muscle. Some men left, others looked away and sipped from their drinks. Once she stopped laughing, Chouhi left the bar, now cloaked in a blanket of the alcohol scent herself, and stumbled her way back to her inn where she would sleep for the night.
