Full Name: Shurim Ama Shan
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Element: Sandbending (Sub-type of Earth)
Birthplace: Si Wong Desert
Position: Traveling Sandbender
Training: Sandbending [Intermediate], Glassbending [Beginner], Spear [Intermediate] Earthbending[(Very)Beginner].
Personality: Overall, Shurim is creative. During his life time in the deserts, he didn't have much to do, he often shaped the sands into thousands upon thousands of figures of unknown craft. He wished to see the entire desert, though his parents were somewhat supportive, they restricted him from leaving the camp until he was sixteen, which fueled his desire to see beyond the familiar dunes. He often took his sandbending and experimented with it, trying to find new ways to use it, since sandbending anywhere but the desert is useless.
Other than that, he can be solemn. Time spent alone under the deserts moon have attuned him to spending many nights alone, practicing his bending. Being alone for long periods of time would not affect as much as it would to many.
Abilities: Shurim has been taught by his parents and elders the basics of Sandbending. Sandbending for him is like manipulating thousands of tiny rocks, and somewhat like the style of waterbending. Though he never truly grasp earthbending, he has the power to use it, but has not had a proper Earthbending trainer, or any idea how to even use it. He has also found a way to use sand that's within glass to manipulate it, though he has recently acquired this skill and has not completely learned about it, yet. Besides bending, he has been trained in the art of the spear, in case his bending ever fails him. He can use his sandbending to move Sandbender desert ships through the deserts, but would require several other sandbenders to move a entire sandbender ship.
Appearance: Shurim wears a muscle shirt like tunic, with sand stained wrappings covering his arms. Apon his waist is a belt holding a vial usually filled with water. He wears extendable shorts which are slightly ripped, and are also laden with sand. On his feet, are also wrapping similar to his arms, to protect from the desert sand. The reason for him no wearing sandals or other such footwear is the fact that it would slow any sort of movement he would have in the desert, despite his sandbending abilities. The last item he has on him is a turban like head piece for traversing sandstorms, if any come to pass.

History: Born in the deserts, Shurim lived a normal life of any sandbender. He was first introduced to sandbending by his father who helped him discover his gift. During his time in the desert, from his early ages, he discovered not a want to leave the desert, but a ambitious goal to see all of the expanse the sandy tundra has in store. He was always straying to far from the village, running from beasts lurking in the sands, his sandbending barely saving him during each encounter. Shurim's mother later discovered these dangerous expeditions he has been making after Shurim came back from a supposed visit to his friends house, with a bloody and broken arm from one of the many desert beasts, and was immediately banned from leaving the camp by his mother.
He spent 4 years stuck in the camp, each day feeling like a prod from a heated poker, as the days passed on. The desert may look the same, and Shurim knew that, but he wanted to see every inch of it. After his sand bending training was completed, to a standard level at the age of 15, he decided to leave the village despite his mother's ban on it. He set off after purchasing a array of supplies, and that was the last his village saw of Shurim. Shurim wished he never went against his mother's wishes, as the desert proved more deadly than the area where his village resided. As it did several years ago, his sandbending was all that kept him from being some creatures dinner. The nights were even worse, and if he has not of found another village, he would have surely gone mad.
Several years passed and Shurim finally reached the edge of the desert. HE looked over at the expanse which turned sand to fields. This sight was terribly foreign to a man who had spent his life in the desert. He entered the plains, seeing unknown creatures and people who were leaving the desert as well. He convinced them to allow him to travel to their next location, which was near a remote village by the cost. He parted ways with the traders, who gave him a map of the earth kingdom. He used the map to to find his way to Makapu Village, where he currently is residing at a inn. All he has is a map, 1000 $ equivalent in earth kingdom money, his clothes, and his sand vial.
Sample RP: "Again." His teacher instructed. He struck a pose, as he moved his hand up, sands forming a weak pillar, before crashing to a pile onto the ground. "Damn.." Shurim muttered. His teacher sighed and walked over to him. "Like this." The teacher took a stance like Shurim, and raised the sand into a solid pillar, Shurim watched and studied the movements. "Okay, I think I can do it this time.." Shurim took a breath, looking to his teacher, then to where his previous pillar had fallen. He took a breath, moving his hand upwards as the grains moved slowly upwards. Another, breath as he quickly moved his hand upwards, the sand following, he held it in place for a good minute before it collapsed. "Better, that will conclude training for today, but I want you to continue practicing it, this will help you learn how to steady the sands and will be used for more advanced techniques later on. " Shurim's master walked off. "Yes sir." Shurim stated as he walked off, and as he left Shurim's sight, he let out a sigh. In his mind he heard "Again." and continued creating pillars of sand, every time it fell he heard his master's voice. "Again." He continued making pillars until the morning, where his master later saw a tiring Shurim, weakly holding a pillar up. Shurim muttered "This...This ones been up for a good hour...." As he collapsed to the sand, the pillar staying up. His master smiled and left Shurim. Shurim layed there for hours, before getting up and hearing "Again.", this time from his master, who was waiting for Shurim to awake. He took a breath, and began to make a second pillar.

Hopefully I didn't utterly mess up the box. Which seems to happen when I don't atleast add 3 million lines of dialogue to the thing so it doesn't make the image mess up the chat area.
