| (After several weeks of relentless pushing to newspapers and other sources of information across the globe, Da-Zho's article has become accessible in nearly every city, town, and village on Earth. This is why you can read it easily no matter your character.)
Da-Zho Yin Omashu Hidden Dragon Forge, Blacksmith, Owner "An Invitation for Those Who Want it and a Warning to Those Who Do Not."
It is no secret that for several years now this world has been going through many massive and uplifting changes. Ever since the Fire Nation jumpstarted the industrialization movement during the Hundred Years' War, this world has grown more and more industrial. Many have welcomed this change, excited for the growth of the job market, economy, and the newfound creation of cheap goods. What no one has realized is that this New World Order will be the end of all that has made our society so great.
This world is so culturally rich, from the water nation to the fire nation, from the Earth Palace to the Air Temples, and each and every village of this vast plane. We all come from strikingly unique places, we all carry with us histories that span millenia and tales that entice us with grandeur and honor. The progress of Industrialization threatens us in this way more than anything else. Industrialization will create a world full of conformity and expectation. It will force all of us into lives that we don't want to live and it sickens me to see so many embracing it. People do not seem to realize, industry will make us SLAVES to the society we live in. We will be expected to do what is expected, no more and no less. We will end up living lives of debt and poverty, desperately awaiting the next payday to keep us afloat. This has been cleverly hidden from us by those that have pushed industrialization upon us, with a facade of material plenty that ultimately will become meaningless when we realize that though we can pay one yuan for anything produced by a factory, our homes will grow farther from our economic power and we will not be able to feed our families. The most frightening thing about this doom is that almost no one will be able to escape it. Blacksmiths like me will be unable to compete with factories that produce cheap items in unbelievable amounts. The art of blacksmithing, something that has been a foundation of ourselves for millenia, will be gone and those who devoted their lives to it will end up in the factories like everyone else. Farmers, I promise you that one day the industries will put cabbages on an assembly line too, and you'll be stuck in the factories. Coopers, carpenters, tailors, you name it, will be in the factories, lacking the freedom they once did, the entrepreneurship they once practiced, and they happiness they once had. The only one's who escape this fate will be the factory owners, the CEOs, etc. and they WILL NOT acknowledge you. Inevitably, the wealth that now is fairly distributed amongst us will flow to the very top of the economic food chain, where it will stay, leaving everyone else in the dust with the crumbs of wealth to crave. We will become crushed under the weight of giants who will stop at nothing to better themselves. We will end up bowing to these giants, these greedy, selfish leaders. In an industrialized society, only the worst of us win.
Fully industrializing our society will throw this world out of balance. Theoretically, in times of imbalance, in times of chaos, we could call the Avatar for aid. The Avatar could make things right, but when we need balance the most, it is in fact the Avatar we can rely on the least. Why? Because the Avatar is leading the movement. She isn't alone, either. A large majority of the Earth's leaders are in favor of the movement as well, and it isn't because they think it will help us. Our leaders will lose nothing from this industrialization, and in return they will gain easy control over their citizens, since the citizens will have no ability to resist. Tyrants will be born from this movement and the Avatar is supporting them.
Right now, our world is doomed. Right now, almost no one realizes that this movement will be the end of all good in our lives. The only way we can change this is through cooperation and bravery. I urge you brave men and women to join my society, the Ludines, and stop the tracks of tyranny. You can join me, and we will save the world. I invite those who are able to Omashu. Come to the Hidden Dragon Forge, my shop, and join my society. To those unable, send me mail and if I receive it I WILL reply and work together with you to help you and the world.
To those who disagree, I warn you of the dangers of industrialized society. Who could live under both metaphorical and literal chains willingly disappoints me, but your decision is yours, no matter what. I also urge you to send me mail, maybe I can set you on the right path.

| It was not long before the Avatar found flyers that were essentially the opposing force against what she was aiming for. Well... needless to say, that would not go over well. However, the young avatar kept her calm and simply scanned the message several times, trying to take it apart and interpret what exactly he planned to do against her. It certainly wasn't the first time someone accused her of not doing her job, but really, what did they know? what did they know about being the Avatar? Who got to decide what 'balance' was? To Zulera, that was exactly what her industrial revolution would do. The Fire Nation was already still a few steps ahead of the other nations, even with the recent advancements in the Water Tribes and Earth Kingdom, and with Xilingshi's mechanists in the Northern and Western Air Temples.
So sure, Zulera might have been a little irked at all of this. Yes there would be people who might lose their job or might have to change their craft, but it wasn't like machines would get invented right away that would do all of people's work, and even if they did, even Zulera was aware that some things were still better made by hand. So instead, she sat down and penned a response.
To Mr. Da-Zho Yin of the Omashu Hidden Dragon Forge: I have come across your writings during my travels and, while I understand that there are valid concerns, it intrigues me that someone would wish to remain so rooted in the war-torn past that they refuse to step into the peaceful and prosperous future. However, I suppose it would be more appropriate as well as more courteous to refrain from having a debate by mail, and so if you would, I would like to meet you in person for a discussion on the subject. I suspect that neither of us will be swayed from our endeavors, but let it not be said that I am disattached from the world and its people. It might be a nice change for both of us to at least get an idea of where the other side comes from.
Get back to me on a time and a place as soon as is convenient. Do not worry--the messenger hawk will know where to find me.
Utmost regards, ~Zulera Joanna Tallarico, Avatar~

Avatar Zulera,
I am sure that speaking with you will be enlightening. I ordinarily would meet you where you are, but for now I am tied down with responsibility as I have recently returned from an extensive expedition. It would be a great help to me if you could come to Omashu. Anywhere in the city, I can meet you. I understand you may not be comfortable to meet me directly in my shop so let me know where you would be most comfortable and I will speak to you there.

| Incidentally, when Zulera had received this letter, she had been *in* Omashu. She was not sure how strong Meili's influence was over this city. The king of this place had once been one of Meili's nephews, but supposedly he had stepped down to do other things with his life, or whatever. It wasn't important.
So, she penned a simple response. Mr. Yin... I am currently in the fine city of Omashu at the moment, and so your shop--or anywhere else for that matter--would suffice enough for me. I am available at any time, and so at your easiest convenience, feel free to schedule the appointment. My responsibilities have let up enough that I have a bit of extra time on my hands, and so I assure you that I am free whenever you are.

| Avatar Zulera,
I would be pleased if you could meet me at my shop. It is the most convenient, comfortable, as well as the safest place for a meeting such as this. It would preferable for you to come past 10pm, as I would not like to have business matters interrupt.
Thanks,
Da-Zho Yin
