Full Name: Murai Tendo “Sungale of the West”
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Element: Fire
Birthplace: Sun Warriors' Ancient city
Position: Fire Nation Lieutenant
Personality: At a glance, Murai comes off to most as a sort of cocky layabout. Murai seems to be a shallow and self-absorbed man, infamous among many of his comrades and enemies alike for the selfish and narcissistic vibe he exudes and appears to act mostly out of self-interest rather than any sort of service. He is typically a laid-back individual, and will not get himself involved in things unless necessary.
However, while these traits do have a place in his real personality, much of his outward persona can perhaps be considered an intentional facade perfectly designed to cause those unfamiliar with him to underestimate his remarkable intelligence and ability. Tendo is an exceptional tactician, well-versed in various strains of combat theory and particularly talented in the realm of Fire Bending.
At the core, he is a remarkably devoted Lieutenant whose primary focus and personal duty is to his friends and subordinates. Though he hides it well behind a veil of cynicism and self-importance, Murai Tendo is a man who cares deeply about the people who trust and support him and goes to great lengths to ensure their safety and well-being, even at the risk of his own. As a man with considerable power, Tendo considers himself a protector to those without and acts accordingly, earning the staunch loyalty of his most trusted comrades.
Abilities: Master Fire Bender, Tendo’s style is derived from the Xing Yi blends strikes from the classic "Seven Stars" hands, feet, elbows, hips, knees, shoulders and head.
He is well-versed in the basics such as:
Fire streams: A basic Firebending ability, Firebenders can shoot continuous streams of fire from their fingertips, fists, palms, or legs. These streams can be widened to create flame-thrower like techniques. Fire Nation soldiers are often seen using this technique to damage or destroy villages or towns.
Fire blade: A more advanced version of a blazing arc, Firebenders can narrow their fire arcs to create thin blades of fire that they can launch at their opponents.
Shield of fire: Creates a protective fire shield around the front of, or the whole body of, a Firebender that can deflect attacks and explosions. May be a lesser version of the Wall of Flames.
As well as the more masterful technique which he began from a young age and continues to perfect to date.
Wall of flames: One of Firebending's few defensive techniques, either a situated explosion or controlled inferno, this wall of concentrated flames acts as a barrier to incoming attacks. It may be a more powerful version of a Fire Shield. It not only protects against attacks, but when used right, can be used to stealthily escape from foes.
Fire augmentation: Firebenders can also control the size and intensity of any nearby flames and can draw them in to manipulate them at will.
Combustion Unlike normal Firebending, this does not produce a flame directly from the body. Instead, Murai concentrates his energy through the palms of his hand to super-heat the air around himself or at a great distance, producing situated explosions with a great deal of precision. This technique is extremely effective and very destructive, capable of use at close and long-range; it can completely disintegrate hill-sized boulders and instantaneously evaporate large bodies of water with ease.
Appearance: Murai wears the traditional garbs of ranking Fire nation officers. Formfitting red and black armor, with gold trim a lieutenant decor at the right breast plate and spiralling dragon emblems with the fire nations banner at its center. Costum to the lieutenant are an often worn pair of dark leather gloves with graphite grip.
He also sports a headband with round golden trim, second to a golden hairpiece resembling a dragons tail. His hair is long and jet black, it reaches his lower back if not otherwise rolled within the hairpiece. Murai is exceptionally good looking for a male warrior, and is often gauged at a much younger age by those who do not know him.

He didn’t know his parents. It was known to the Sun Warriors that the boy had been abandoned at their temple as an infant. He was a troubled youth, despite being taught to Fire Bend without hatred and anxiety, his breakthrough was made through these very means. It wasn’t until he turned 12 years old as a custom to the tribe he was presented to the two great dragons. Murai learned the hard way, but it was as if he became ten times more proficient in the art of Fire Bending. At the age of 15 set out unto the Fire Nation mainland to find his parents. In a street scuffle after his Bending prowess was demonstrated he was drafted into the Fire Nation Army, to fight in the Civil War. There he met a man he grew to admire Hayato Yamada. They spent many nights speaking on their future in the heart of the enemy rebel territory. Yamada promising to reunite the boy with his parents after the war. They were like brothers, they sparred together, they eat together, and even known to have the same taste in women. Murai immediately took notice to the difference in people there, from the Sun Warriors he grew up around. He adopted a new personality, over the person that he really was in order to fit in. During the last cycle of the Civil War at a peace summit with the enemy leader turned into an ambush, Murai demonstrated his clout by using a technique he had been perfecting over the years with his bare hands. He used Combustion to kill the Rebel leader in an instant, earning him the title of Lieutenant, and Sungale of the Western Lands.
