Kayla's Attempt

Kayla looked positively ecstatic, she was within the Palace! All the time she was here, she had been disguised as a servant girl. After month's of work, she had finally smuggled in the drug that she would use upon the queen. While there was no fun in simple poison, she had heard tales of her mighty power. Though she was able to stop others from bending with her needles, she had to survive long enough to actually locate them within the queen's pressure points. Needless to say, by adding this drug to her food would slow down the queen's reaction time, all so that she could get her with the needles. And her metalbending would be useless here, these needles were made wood! No way she would be able to stop them from entering her skin after she consumes her meal. Now to watch as the food was going into the queen's dinning chamber.

Kayla stood and watched as the tampered food entered the Queen's dinning chamber. She then walked inside in order to finish the job that she had been hired to do. She saw that the Queen had already begun her meal. Once inside the body, the drug took only heartbeats to take effect, and Kayla knew this all to well. Kayla took a rag and walked over to the table, as though she was going to clean a spot on it. When she reached the Queen, however, she pulled out a wooden stake, and attacked.

Meili Mitali Zalika	Meili had lived a life of conspiracy and intrigue, with a little touch of violence sewn in. She was a heavy drinker, and so the effects of most drugs and liquids had a lesser effect on her resilient body. that, and earthbenders had a tendency to be of a tougher stock than those from other nations. whatever the case, she was aware that something had been put into her food, and while she didn't know what it was, she was going to find out--or so she thought. right as she was about to ask about it, one of the servant girls--the new kid, as it was, attacked. It was times like this that Meili was glad she wore her armor to most of her own everyday occasions. formal meetings would make her easier to strike, as she donned real finery, and didn't wear her armor. this time, however, was not out of the ordinary in her choice of attire. the moment she noticed that she was about to be struck, she put her rock-gloved hand out to block it, allowing the wooden stake to plunge into it. immediately she twisted her hand in an attempt to loosen the woman's grasp on the weapon, and she was on her feet, fists clenched. "there's a reason I am queen, my dear." she warned, "and it's not because the Earth Kingdom needed a successor in the post-Lei crisis." Meili was not about to make a large strike--she was more the type who waited and listened before counterattacking. Let's see what this attempt on her life would come to.

Kayla felt the stake wrenched from her hand as she jumped back. The Queen's reaction time was slower, but not as slow as it should have been. Whatever the case was, if she failed, she could always just ignite the blasting jelly that she had all over her body. A quick, simple solution to a messy assassination. Kayla drew forth six needles from within her sleeves and prepared to throw them at the Queen's neck. All she had to do was wait for an opening. She leaped around the queen in an attempt to find a weakness, any weakness, around her neck.

Meili Mitali Zalika	The would-be assassin was much swifter than Meili, but Meili took a defensive, surrounding herself with slabs of earth to block as many openings as possible. she had long since decided that she not going to die today, and thus was doing everything in her power from preventing it. Meili came off as an unbreakable wall. She would allow her opponent to wear herself out against her, and then deal out swift and just retribution. while Meili's defenses were slow and strong, she pivoted this way and that to keep the woman in her sight. letting her escape from Meili's point of vision would be the ticket to her downfall, and she was not about to allow that.

Kayla leaped forth in a mock attack, then at the last minute she jumped back. When she got on the ground, she saw that there were no openings. Except for her armpit. The armpit, such a vulnerable spot that could cause major blood loss. Kayla threw a single needle in the hopes that it would hit.

Meili Mitali Zalika	Meili did not remain very aggressive, mostly just blocking any attacks and attempted attacks that the assassin threw. she kept rock around her neck, joints, chest, and ankles, all of which were the most vulnerable. she would have also put more effort into protecting her legs, but she hadn't needed to lift them off the ground during this fight. while her dress was a warrior's garb, loose enough to not inhibit movement but thick enough that it couldn't be easily torn, it was not indestructible, and under it were Meili's bare legs. She didn't feel like weighing her legs down with stone other than around her ankles, and so she put faith in the strength of her armored skirt. She also remained silent through the battle, not feeling much of a need to say anything. her cold, cunning stance and attacks were one of the many keys to her many victories in the past.

Kayla jumped back and with a flourish, removed her clothing, revealing that her body was covered in packs of blasting jelly. From a packet she pulled out what appeared to be a small stick with a yellow tip. Kayla smiled as she struck it causing a small flame to appear on the end. She lit a small fuse and jumped forward grabbing the queen within an iron hug of death.

Meili Mitali Zalika	Meili's eyes popped open; not in fear, but in surprise. few, if any, people ever hugged her anyways, and those with explosive fluids all over their naked bodies, even less so. most of Meili's body was protected by rock, and so as she finished the job by covering hre face as she braced for the blow. Meili woke up several minutes later lying sprawled on the floor, with no sign of her assassin. well, there were signs of her--just none that were very large. blood and fragments of rocks were everywhere. Meili wiggled her toes and found that she could still move them--meaning that her legs had not been blasted off. she felt her feet surrounded by rock, meaning that her shoes had survived. her hands were bare, and she could move her arms and fingers. moving her legs was what was difficult. while they did not appear broken, they still hurt enough to hinder Meili's movement. it seemed that since they were less protected, that they had suffered more damage because of it. most of Meili's clothing below her midriff had been blasted straight away. Meili slowly and painfully sat up and ran her hands along her now bare legs, picking out flecks of rock and debris from her wounds as she went. She was mostly unfazed that she had looked death in the eyes, but was intrigued wondering who had tried killing her this time. whatever the case, the Earth Queen was not about to die this easily. But, she would be limping for a while...
