Personality: Yin is a cheerful and positive girl, albeit too inquisitive for her own good, and a little clumsy. Also, having had little exposure to the world outside of the Western Air Temple, she is naive and highly gullible. Nevertheless, she tries to see the best in people and looks for the bright side in every situation (however hard it might be to find). She doesn't like it when people are upset, and always does her best to make them feel better when they are, often by simply trying to take their mind off the subject of their concerns. This has lead to her bad habit of trying to deflect negative subjects instead of confronting them. She also has a phobia of needles.

Abilities: Yin is a talented airbender, as well as being a keen dancer and musician. She is the most skilled at playing a wooden flute, which is the only instrument she carries with her on her travels. However, she has basic experience with a wide range of musical intruments (even if she has fallen out of practice with most of them after leaving the Air Temple). She is also notoriously TERRIBLE at Air-ball.

Appearance: Yin is short for her age, but slim, with wide brown eyes and long black hair that is pulled back from her forehead and tied into three long braids. The centre braid falls down her back, whilst the other two drape over each shoulder. She wears her traditional, yellow Air Temple robes with an orange shawl and sash, along with a wide, conical straw hat that is slightly too big for her (it often falls over her eyes if she moves about too much). She also carries her glider-staff with her, although it has been jammed ever since she accidentally sat on it when she was twelve. She only uses it as a dancing implement or to aid her airbending. Her sash has several pockets on the inside, where she holds money, her flute, and numerous menial keepsakes.

History: Yin spent most of her life growing up in the Western Air Temple with the other Air Nuns. Her mother passed away when Yin was four, and it was from her that she inherited her prized flute, and later became skilled in its use. She also honed her airbending skills and became reasonably good at it, although she became discouraged when her close friend, Weya, mastered the art...and Yin had snuck a peek into the chamber where Weya was receiving her tattoos. Upon witnissing the amount of pain her friend was in -a pain she would have to share if she ever mastered airbending herself - Yin discontinued her training and decided to leave the temple for a while and see more of the world.
She does performances with her flute in order to make money, mainly on the street, although she is occassionally invited to play in taverns or restaurants. Due to her naive attitude concerning the world outside of the Air Temple, she has been swindled out of money on more than one occassion, particularly by the street-savvy con men of the Fire Nation. Nevertheless, she has always managed to get by, even on very little.
