Rai sat hunched over at a table under a roofed patio of a local tea shop in the town of Gaoling. Rain was pouring heavily and his travels had led him here to this safe haven for the upper-class snobs of the Earth Kingdom. The waitress who was working at the tea shop came over to him and gave him the Jasmine tea he ordered. He placed three bronze pieces down on the table, and the waitress slid them into her palm, and walked away briskly. It was steaming, just the way he liked it. He grabbed the cup and took a sip, it was, decent, nothing compared to home. Rai looked around him and watched as people walked past the tea shop with umbrellas or hood covering them. The rain was really coming down hard now, the rain hitting the roof of the patio so hard, that he could barely hear himself think.

Rai was never a big fan of the rain only because it made him feel tired and grouchy, and this storm was not helping. A quick gust of wind swooped through the patio which caused him to spill some tea on the table and sent chills up his spine. He shivered a little bit and popped the collar on his jacket to protect his neck from the cold. He brushed the puddle of tea that was on the table off and onto the floor, before he drained whatever was left, placed the cup back down, and stood up. He might as well leave now and find a hotel of some sort so he could rest.

He stepped out from under the patio and he immediately felt the cold of the rain hit him on the head. Once he had stepped out from under the patio, that was when he really got hit hard with gusts of wind. His jacket flapped behind him and he started trudging along slowly down the muddy street. It was slow work no doubt, he feet squelched with every step, and every so often the wind slowed his movement even further. He rounded the corner of a street and began looking at signs around him. Rai had been told earlier by the waitress that there was a hotel not too far from the shop.

As he walked down the street he looked from left to right, avoiding to make eye contact with anyone. So far he hadn't spotted the hotel until he made out a sign in the distance lit by a dying torch through the pouring rain that read, 'Gaoling Royal Suites'.

'Finally' Rai thought as he kept his head down and started walking as fast as he could. He just kept on staring at the ground and then without warning he bumped into someone's shoulder quite hard, but he wasn't even phased, he didn't even apologize. He just kept on walking towards the hotel, hands tucked in his pockets which were filling up with water.

He was cold, all he wanted to feel was the warmth of a nice soft bed.

Kuki Ken	Suddenly, an explosion would sound from the walls of the hotel, a body, wearing a soldiers uniform, flying out of it. He was missing an arm, and was thus trailing blood from his stump of an arm. From the smoke still coming from the explosion, shadowy figures seemed to be fighting; three figures all seemed to be converging on one, tall female, obvious from her busty frame. Even as he watched, the three figures merged upon her. However, she was not done for. A flurry of movement and one of the figures fell, half of his leg sheared off. Another "explosion" sounded directly northwest of the downed soldier. In the blink of an eye, the other two soldiers were dispatched, both missing various limbs. The female warrior flicked her blade, then resheathed her blade. She stepped out of the debris, and he would be greeted with a beautiful women, with long red hair tied in a ponytail with a black leather cord. She had bright, emerald-green eyes, covered with a black opera mask with feathers on left side. She was wearing a short, pitch black silk Kimono, tied off with a red sash. She was also wearing black leggings and ankle length black boots. Her blade was styled after a rose; the guard, hilt, and pommel combine to create an inverted rose - the pommel and hilt being red, while the guard being green - with the blade having a vine growing across it. The vine is green, while the blade is blue. It is quite the beautiful weapon. Her eyes briefly rested on this strange firebender before she calmly and silently started walking towards him.

Suddenly, Rai found himself in the midst of an explosion and instinctively dove to the group. A substance spattered on his face and on his jacket, he looked around and saw a soldiers lying on the ground beside him, missing his arm. What the hell? He looked over and saw this tall beautiful woman standing in the middle of the hotel lobby. There were various other figures that surrounded her, but he was too disoriented to count how many.

He wiped his face on his hand, and looked to see what it was. The substance was red, it was blood from the soldier that had been propelled through the hotel door by the explosion. When he looked back over to the woman, he saw that the figures were converging on her, but before anything else, she had taken then out with several quick attacks that left more blood all over the place. It was a gruesome sight, but it wasn't anything that Rai hadn't seen before. He had seen what war was like and how gruesome it could be, this wasn't new to him; death and destruction.

As he turned his attention back to the woman, he saw th.at she had turned her focus on him, and she began to walk towards him. His instincts reacted immediately as he created a fire whip in his hand and slashed it at the ground in front of him. This woman, who was she? Some sort of serial killer?

"Don't you dare come any closer unless you want to get burned." Rai said coldly. The last thing he wanted to do was to let his guard down and end up like those soldiers. He also realized that he wasn't cold anymore, and that his adrenaline had started to kick in. His focus however did not shift away from the woman. Rai took a deep breath as to relax his senses. Whatever was to happen next, he hoped wouldn't become a bloodbath.
