| Luxos scratched his head, irritated. Of course, he had decided to go out drinking the night before and this morning he woke up with a splitting headache in a ditch with a note pinned to his shirt. "Meet me out of town, your insult cannot be ignored. -Gysu". He couldn't' for the life of himself remember what had exactly transpired the night before, but he would never pass up the chance for a rumble. The field he stood in was grassy and dotted with flowers. There was a small pond to his right and stones and boulders were scattered about the area, which was surrounded by trees. He checked his water satchels. One strapped across his shoulders and another strapped around his waist. Both were full. His sword, Amarok was sheathed at his left hip.
"Not quite sure how I managed this..." he muttered to himself. He could only hope that he hadn't run away with Gysu's wife or daughter or whomever.
As he paced, a figure emerged from the tree line. Luxos' focus immediately fixed on the man. He was tall, far taller and more muscular than Luxos, who was thin and lean as many people from the Northern Water Tribe. He also wore armor. Fantastic. He started stretching, leaning back and pelvic thrusting to loosen up his hips. He looked rather ridiculous.
"Alright, you've got me here!" Luxos called out, "What's say we get this started?"

| (OOC: you had me pelvic thrusting!? Not in my character. Just saying)
"I hope that you can prepare yourself for this," Gysu yelled. Reaching within his satchel, out came a hunk of meteorite that he had begun to shape into a battleaxe. He held the blade to his hair and he tried to cut it. It wouldn't cut, so he ran his pointer finger and his thumb over the blade, clearly sharpening it. He held it up to his hair again and it cut. He smiled, he would pay for kicking Gorgo in front of his daughter. Gysu whistled and Gorgo began to circle around in the air, the lizard-parrot then dive bombed at Luxos. Given this time, Gysu ran forward wielding his battleaxe up high. |

| OOC: Sorry, that was unclear, it was all Luxos doing all the stretching and pelvic thrusting. Godmodding in my first battle would be definite no-no.
IC: Luxos looked up, rolling his shoulders as the man pulled out a large rock. 'Earthbender?' Luxos thought to himself. The rock suddenly shaped itself into a large axe. Luxos' shoulders sagged.
"Earthbender" he muttered to himself. Apparently the guy had a thing for big weapons. As he watched, the man whistled and a lizard-parrot rose from his shoulder, taking flight high above, and then suddenly wheeling around and rocketing towards Luxos. At the same time, the man began his charge. A two-fronted attack.
Judging the distance, Luxos squared his body, keeping as still as he could, hands held away from his hips. When the parrot was about five feet from himself, he whipped his hand forward, bending the water in his hip pouch so it rushed outwards in wall of water. He emptied the hip pouch to create a wall of freezing water that would create a spherical prison around the bird. He hoped that the bird was moving far too quickly in one direction to evade his attack in time. He hoped his plan for immobilizing the bird would work, but it also meant that he hadn't moved out of Gysu's charge. He looked up as the man came into range with the battleaxe. He would have to dodge, no way to block at this point.

| Gysu brought the battleaxe down upon the water bender. His hair blowing throughout the wind. Gorgo had been caught by the ice sphere. He gave out a battle cry during the middle of the swing. |

| It worked, the bird was wrapped up in a sphere of solid ice. It would be fine, the sphere was large enough to hold it without any threat to the bird's life but solid enough that it would be incredibly difficult to escape.
However, Gysu was upon him, axe held over his head. As the massive earthbender brought the weapon swishing down, Luxos dove to the right, knowing that being hit with the axe would mean the end for him. The axe came crashing down right where he had been standing and he ungracefully tumbled out of the way. He had thrown himself with more force than necessary out of desperation and anticipating that Gysu would likely swing the axe around from the ground to try to catch him with a horizontal swipe.
Safely out of reach from the axe, Luxos sprang to his feet and immediately brought his hands forwards, palms facing down to cause water from his shoulder pouches to come exploding out and pour along the ground towards Gysu. He snapped his wrists upwards causing the water to freeze into a smooth sheet of solid ice. If Gysu attacked again, he hoped that the shift of his weight would cause him to slip on the ice and fall. However, Luxos' tumble meant that there was a pause between his dodge and his counter-attack. He had sacrificed a sure-hit for a safe distance between himself and the axe. He also wasn't skilled enough to efficiently use his water and had used up all of the water in both pouches.

| Gysu jumped away from the ice sheet as it approached. He then began to execute an attack of his own. Gysu saw the way he had executed the attack. He mimicked the movement and used his earthbending to move a load of mud towards him. He then flicked his wrist upwards, and instead of solidifying the mud, caused it to spike upwards in an attack. |

| OOC: Cool, I just didn't know how you evaded the ice sheet.
IC: Luxos saw that Gysu had countered his ice with a a layer of mud over the ice. The mud surged towards Luxos and then erupted upwards at him. He spun to the right to dodge the incoming spike and pulled both hands upwards, bending the water from the mud and ice beneath Gysu's feet to attempt to freeze the Earthbender's feet in place. Then he brought his hands around, drawing water from the ice spike to bring a stream of water lashing around to try and catch Gysu in the chest.

| Gysu did the most normal thing a man could do. He took his boots off. Free from the icy prison, Gysu sent some small pebbles hurtling at the sphere which still contained Gorgo. The pebbles struck and cracked the sphere. Gysu then dodged the attack by diving underneath Luxos. With a whistle, Gorgo had broken free of his prison and had begun to attack Luxos. Gysu reformed his battleaxe into a katana(samurai sword) and then he proceeded to stab it upwards. |

| The large man evaded the attack and shot pebbles at the sphere holding his pet. Then he began to charge at Luxos and dove at him, his axe changing shape as he moved. He avoided the whip of water, and angled the sword at Luxos. Having no time to dodge, Luxos drew his own sword and brought it sweeping across to knock Gysu's blade aside. He looked up to see this parrot flying at him. He swept his hands backwards, bending the water that covered the ground to pull him away from his attacker. As the bird charged, he pinwheeled his hands, creating three tall, vertical blades of water that shot forwards along the ground. The first one was directed at the bird. It would have to veer off it's course for him or risk being cut. The other two were at Gysu, helpless on the ground. He had taken himself away from danger but had used up all of the water on the ground around him to create his counter-attack. | |

| Gysu sunk beneath the earth in order to evade the attack. Whilst Gorgo had veered off only slightly, riding the air that the attack was producing to create speed. It's claws open, it went after Luxos with the speed of the devil. Gysu then shoved his katana through the earth and up at Luxos, if it hit then Luxos would no longer be a man. |

| As the blade approached him, Gysu sunk beneath the ground. Luxos swore. The parrot evaded the blade and came for him. He threw himself backwards but he had paused for too long and the bird's claws raked across his left arm. He tumbled backwards landing hard. It took a moment to orient himself and he rolled to his feet to see a blade erupt from the ground where he had been standing where the parrot had clawed him. Gysu was going to attack him from underground.
Luxos took solace knowing that Gysu wouldn't actually be able to see him, but at the same time, he couldn't see Gysu and had no easy way of attacking back. He looked around and spotted the pond. Ignoring the blood seeping through the sleeve of his coat, he dashed towards it. When he stepped onto the surface of the lake, the water turned to ice and he drifted away from the shore. Gysu wouldn't be able to attack him from under the ground now and would have to surface at some point to get air. The bird was another matter, but Luxos had a plan all ready. He waited for the bird to attack and for Gysu to reappear.

| Gysu could sense his aura move towards the pond. He went down further beneath it and then he began to move the sludge upwards in order to drag him downwards. Gorgo began to circle waiting for a signal. |

| Luxos watched and waited, nothing happened. It seemed like the earth bender was biding his time, so he figured he should take advantage of the situation. He held a hand out, palm down as his miniature ice island came to settle above the middle of the pond, the deepest part. Water spiraled up onto his hand and he pressed it against his wound. The water wound around the gashes and glowed a brilliant blue as his wounds closed, leaving no trace there had even been an injury.
Restored, he looked out across the water. The lizard-parrot was circling high above, waiting for something. It was far out of range so he didn't even think about attacking it. He had plenty of water to bend and if the bird attacked him again it would be putting itself at serious risk. This is where he had the advantage.
"I hope you've got a good plan," Luxos called out, "Because all I've seen is bad bending and worse fighting. Unless of course you're waiting for me to breathe myself to death."
He was getting impatient. There was no advantage to be gained while underground. Until he decided to make a move. With both hands Luxos filled both of his water pouches and waited for the inevitable attack.

| The sludge from the pond suddenly burst upwards through the water and it formed a hand reaching out for Luxos. along with the hand came Gysu coming at him from behind. The katana changing form once again. This time into a scythe. He held the scythe upwards and he began to bring the scythe downwards upon Luxos. |

| As Luxos waited atop the water, he watched the surface of the pond, which was smooth and undisturbed. Suddenly, the surface became turbulent and a hand made of pond sludge erupted from the depths. He didn't even need to know what else to look for. Gysu's attacks so far had all involved some distraction and then him sneaking up from behind.
He pivoted his body, bringing his arms up at the same time. He created a wave which shielded him at an angle. The surging waters flowed so quickly that the loose earth would be torn apart by the current and any sludge that made it through would be harmless. His pivot turned and unsurprisingly he found Gysu bearing down upon him, with a new weapon this time, a scythe. Luxos had to give him credit, the man was either incredibly persistent or just plain foolish.
Luxos continued his hand movement around his body, bending the water beneath his ice island. It pulled him away and out of the path of the scythe. Instead of shooting himself across the water, he pushed himself enough and then drifted. However, before Gysu could reach the water, he pulled out his sword and pointed it straight at the Earthbender's exposed back. He pushed the trigger which would fire the spring loaded whip sword directly into Gysu's back. In the air he would have no way of evading or blocking the attack and even if the sword's piercing tip was slowed by Gysu's armor, it would still cause enough damage to slow the man down.

| Gysu spun around in the air, but it was too late. The whip(?) hit him on the arm lacerating it severely. With a howl of rage Gysu landed in the water. His scythe forming into several, smaller, blades. He then sent those blades flying as he took from his pouch his stored meteorite. He formed the meteorite into a battleaxe and then brought up more sludge, so that he could ride it. With the sludge gaining speed he went head on at Luxos and then he pulled the ax to the left and went for a horizontal swing. |

| Luxos' sword sliced into his opponent's arm as the man fell back into the water. Luxos pressed the button on the hilt of his sword, causing the sword segments to snap back together. Before Gysu fell back into the water, he sent a barrage of small flying blades at Luxos. Bringing his hands up, he created a wave that froze into a protective wall in front of him.
Each stone blade thudded into the ice shield. However, the density of the stone blades was too much, and the wall shattered with the last blade. The spray of ice and slush blocked Luxos' vision momentarily, and when he opened his eyes again, Gysu was bearing down on him, riding a wave of mud.
Luxos held his breath and swept his hands apart, melting the ice beneath his feet. He fell beneath the surface of the lake as the axe swept over his head. He had no choice, and was engulfed in the muddy depths. The swirling mud of the water blocked his view and left him unable to counter-attack. In order to avoid a follow up attack, he used water bending to propel himself backwards and away from Gysu underwater.

| Gysu brought up a thin layer of mud to go all around the bottom of the pond. He then raised his hands to bring the mud up, he did so with enough force that the small amount of mud would have toppled a war ship if one had been there. He whistled and gave the order for Gorgo to attack when Luxos resurfaced. He waited for Luxos to come up, so that he would cut off his head. |

| Luxos was propelling himself away from Gysu when he was suddenly lifted and hurled from the bottom of the pond. He was thrown upwards and when he looked around he saw Gysu waiting and heard the screech of the accursed lizard-bird. He was about six feet out of the water and unable to do anything until he saw both of his attacker's prepare for their next strike. He couldn't coordinate a smooth defense so he swung his arms and bended the water of the pond into a swirling and thick fog that covered a five foot radius around himself. Had he been able to shift his weight properly, the fog would have been evenly dispersed, but there were patches where one would be completely blinded and other small pockets where you could see everything that wasn't covered in fog.
Regardless, none of the three would be able to see. Plus, he had wounded Gysu and after such a massive attack, he wasn't sure if the earth bender would be able to move after the strain of moving so much earth. He could only hope, and he raised his arms, bending a small swell of water to cushion his fall back onto the surface of the lake. It was all he could do as he fell, unable to properly orient himself in the air.

| Gorgo did not need sight. It had smell. It went straight at Luxos and began to peck at his eyes. Clawing and gouging them, there was no way that it was going to get off without taking at least one eye. Gysu, on the other hand, was tired. He had used up to much energy. He needed to gain more, but how? |

| As Luxos fell, the parrot found him. Talons raked across his face, splitting open his forehead. Blood poured from the wound and clouded his vision. He threw his hands in front of his face to defend himself and the bird's beak buried itself in his palm, searching for his face. It was then that he hit the water. The bird's attack had distracted him and he hadn't been able to brace himself for the attack. The wind was knocked from him and he sank downwards.
Stunned, he sank downwards, again surrounded by weeds and algae. He needed air, but he also knew that the pair of attackers would be waiting for him. Now that he wasn't bending, the fog was free to disperse depending on how the wind was blowing. He could only think of one thing. He pulled water upwards, bending it a distance from himself upwards in a large splash. It was not coordinated bending, but he just needed Gysu to react to the distraction to allow himself to recover. He twisted his hands creating a small funnel of water from the surface to his mouth, where he breathed deeply. The sound would be masked by the splash he had used for distraction. Because of his injuries, he could only sit there and close his hand over his forehead to stop the bleeding. It started to glow blue and the wound started to heal itself. However, the claw marks were deep, it would take some time to fully heal. He sent up another splash of water, in a different direction to distract Gysu. It was all he could do with most of his concentration on healing himself.

| Gysu saw the blood on Gorgo's beak and claws. He looked over and saw blood in the water, a little ways away he saw bubbles forming. Not knowing which to attack, he sent out a group of earth shards to both spots. He hoped that they would hit. |
