Loki	Loki took off, trying to outdo her new companions. The sprint was short though, and she didn't have time to overtake them. Hey! Was that girl stealing? What amateurs! Some sort of code of thievery kept getting stepped on in her mind. She associated subtlety with safety, and to see these two repeatedly squander that...well, she just didn't understand how they'd survived this long. Then again, they had already been caught, they were already being chased, what did a little more stealing hurt? She didn't partake in this thievery, but she understood that subtlety was no longer required. She wondered where they would go. She would rather fly, but flying with two other people was too difficult, so she'd probably fly along side them as they walked wherever they went.

Nokomi	Nokomi smiled to herself as she wrapped her arm-whips around her arms. It felt good to feel the pressure of them against her skin, and she cracked one at a branch. It hit it with a loud smack, and coiled back around her arm. She nodded to herself, satisfied. Then she turned to look at the others, awaiting for them to make plans or something. She didn't feel the need to speak, therefore she didn't. She only stared at them stonily before looking at the things she'd grabbed while she had been running. Among these were some dried fruits, a small children's doll, a flute, a small gold chain, and old tattered cloth. She stowed the flute and tattered cloth in her bag, before tossing the gold chain to Loki because it was quite obvious that she enjoyed high-fashion jewelry, and then threw the other items in the grass. Let someone else have them. She didn't need them.

Loki	Loki caught the necklace. Huh, this could be a game changing decision. She could either complain about the methods used to procure this chain, or she could put it on and thank Nokomi for the gift. Did it matter how it was stolen, or did it matter more that it was stolen safely in the end? She felt the fine chain of golden links, digging into the texture of crafted metal. It was so finely made. She decided she'd just accept it. She'd been being a bit overdramatic anyway. She slipped it around her neck, carefully. "Thank you for this gift. It means a lot to me. After all, by taking this, you put yourself at risk. How kind." Man, she was being so overdramatic today. "So let's brainstorm. What's the nearest and safest city?"

Hakota-Zai	"What's the nearest and safest city?" Zai notably winced, almost falling from his perch against the tree. He let out an elongated sigh, looking to the sky. The answer was somewhat obvious, but he was hesitant to say it. Though, with another sigh, "Likely Chin village... I suppose..." He stood straight again, swaying lightly. "Well let's get going, then. Much haste and all." He shrugged, looking to his two unexpected companions. He guessed they would be traveling together more, but.... He hadn't gone so close to home in four years.

Nokomi	Nokomi looked at Zai curiously. Something was off, but she couldn't quite place her finger on it. Oh, well, what did she care? It was apparent that they were all thieves, they were now wanted in Gaoling, and that--for now--they needed each other. Anything else about the two wasn't her business, nor did she want it to be her business. Making friends, getting involved with other people, that just spelled trouble for her. So she shrugged and started walking. As she walked, she plucked a few bits of tall grass and began weaving them together.

Loki	"Umm, I'll keep watch for guards. See how close they are and such." And with that she took off her "skirt" and revealed it to be a large canvas sail. She filled it with air and jumped. She focused all her airbending into the sail and began flying steadily. She pushed higher and higher until she had a good view the most of the city. It was still pretty early, but the markets were starting to fill up. People were beginning to leave their homes for either work or shopping. Then Loki saw a strange sight. Like a tidal wave of green and shiny weapons. Looks like the guards were coming and fast too. "They're coming from the west! If we want to avoid them we'd better go east. 'Less we wanna fight of course. 'Bout a hundred I think," she yelled down from the sky.

Nokomi	Nokomi smiled to herself and threw the bit of grass she was weaving on the ground. More guards? This day was just getting better and better. She pulled a small vial out of her pack and began sprinkling a white powder on her arm-whips. If she was going to fight, she was going to give her weapons a little bit more of a kick. She stowed the vial away and made sure that her quiver of arrows was tightly strapped to her back before cracking a whip at a tree. The whip coiled around the branch and pulled her up into the tree. That was the greatest benefit of her arm-whips; no matter what she was hitting or wrapping them around, they automatically recoiled around her arms, either dragging someone to her or pulling her closer to where she needed to go. Grabbing the branch with her legs, she turned herself upside down, loading the bow with an arrow and aiming to the west where Loki had said they were coming from. Most would think that this was a huge disadvantage, shooting upside down, but Nokomi preferred it. It just meant that her skills were greater than others, because she could shoot no matter what way she was turned. The first few guards made an appearance around a bend, and she focused on the first one. Paid attention to the chink in his armor before letting the arrow loose, ending in a bulls-eye in the center of his heart. She let out a laugh of exhilaration before letting another three loose, taking down two more guards, but the third bounced off of the armor of the last. She had only twenty-five arrows in her quiver, and was down to twenty-one. She did the calculations in her head, and decided that she'd let another three loose, and if she missed again, she'd be better off dealing with them using her whips. She released the three arrows and hit one more mark, but missed the other two. Ah, well, it'll give her a chance to loosen the whips up anyway. She hopped out of the tree before cracking a whip at a guard, wrapping it around his foot and yanking it towards herself. She kicked him in the head, assuring that he was sufficiently knocked out and began releasing the whips into the fray, pulling random guards down and either slitting their throat with her dagger or just kicking them in the face. A small laugh escaped her lips as she took down another, noticing nothing in the world except the exhilaration and thrill that was all a part of the fight.

Hakota-Zai	"A hundred..." Zai was calculating in his mind the possibilities. Among other things, they could hide or run. Such would be their best bet, running especially. He had faced much in the war, yes, but even for a group of three trained soldiers, a hundred would be too.... Zai's thoughts were interrupted as Nokomi began firing at the approaching mass of guards. What in the world did she think she was doing? She then began tripping and killing off guards. Did she realize what kind of trouble this would get them in? And yet, she continued killing and brawling, not seeming to even think twice about it. "Are you BLOODY INSANE," he called out, his voice not panicked, but somewhat frustrated. After all, he had almost directly started this whole mess, he just wished it could end now, in a way they all didn't become the most wanted public enemy. He was only lucky the guards had yet to get any sense of a good look at him. Zai now only looked to the sky, to see if Loki, being an airbender, was sensible enough to know that now was a time to run. But in the end, he knew this was pretty much his fault, and pebbles leaped from the ground to seal tightly his cloak in the front, his arms sliding trough tears at the shoulders. This would hide his Kiyoshi armor in case he had to fight, and it only took a slight adjustment of his facecloth to hide all but his only good eye. He'd fight if they did, since it'd be on his conscious for leading them to this point.

Loki	Loki looked over the huge crowd of guards. There was no way they could win, and she knew that. The group of 10 or so guards from before was fun, but this was too much. Could she lift three people out of here though? Well, she'd have to try. "Come on! We don't stand a chance!" She lowered herself, floating above Zai. "We have to get out of her! Grab my legs, let's go." She knew she could lift two people, but three seemed a bit much. She'd try though. "Come on Nokomi!"

Nokomi	"Are you BLOODY INSANE?" Zai shouted. Nokomi snorted before kicking someone in the stomach. She probably was. A hundred guards? Seemed quite excessive to catch three thieves, but hey, apparently rich people wanted their justice. Her worst trait was that she always jumped into things without thinking them through. This was a severe case of one of those instances. She was a strong fighter, but no one could wipe out a hundred guards single-handed. "Come on, Nokomi!" Loki yelled. Nokomi spared a glance at her. The probability of her being able to lift all three of them was slim. "I'll follow you through the trees!" She called, throwing a guard against a wall and using her whips to pull her into a tree. "It'll take too long to get us out of here if you carry us both! Get going, I can keep up."

[Hey, guys. Sorry for not posting 'till now.]

Hakota-Zai	Zai was glad Nokomi was seeing sense now, but he saw no point in wasting much more time. He wasn't about to fly any time soon, however, given he would be a good bit heavier and less aerodynamic than she since he wore armor and robes under his cloak. Such did not make well for flight. He also knew he would make for better speed on the ground. "No, Loki, take Nokomi and I'll meet you at the east gate," Zai called, not waiting for a response before the ground beneath his feet jutted up, projecting him into the platoon of guards. Several spears raised to catch him, but a quick-drawn blade parried them aside. Once Zai landed, he showed what was likely the only offensive earthbending he knew. The road beneath him and the guards about him trembled and cracked in his wake, sending the guards in the front of the small army to the ground. It was merely a distraction, letting the three get away smoothly. Zai himself took this moment to dash north, meaning to mislead the guardsmen with that same strange speed of his while the other two gained a window to flee themselves.

Loki	Loki wasn't used to such stubborn individuals. She rolled her eyes as both of her companions refused a free escape. After Zai refused she shouted, "Well if you insist!" and wrapped her legs awkwardly around Nokomi's head. "I'll just have to strangle you if you won't go willingly," she said flustered. She took off before any protests could be made, and imagined Nokomi would have to hold on for fear of falling. Then she could stop strangling her. Until then, Loki uncomfortably balanced bending and holding on as tight as possible to Nokomi and the sail. She'd flown with other people, but they always were by her side, not under her. This way was much more difficult. The flight wouldn't be too long though, as the East Gate loomed closer and closer. Nokomi was right, this was too many guards for a couple of thieves. Had they stolen something of incredible value? Well, it wasn't the peach, that was for sure. She looked at her armed, the metal glistened tenderly. She pondered the possibilities of her new ornament. Maybe it was meant for a firebender, but she wouldn't be giving it away just yet.

Nokomi	Nokomi made a slight choking sound and strapped her bow to her back before grabbing Loki's waist with her hands and hoisting herself up so that she could stop being strangled. She wasn't level with Loki's head, but it was far better than having her legs around her neck. The guards below were shouting and throwing spears and arrows up at them, but they couldn't quite reach. She looked down and saw Zai deflect some spears and then earthbend the front line of guards down. Huh. She had assumed he was a non-bender, seeing as how he hadn't used the skill while fighting before, but it was apparent she was wrong. She enjoyed the view and being this high up, for being in the air was a great joy to her. This was much of the reason why she spent quite a lot of time up in trees. With one arm still wrapped tightly around Loki, she rummaged through her bag and found the flask containing the powder she used on her arm-whips to shock people. It'd take her an extremely long time to replace it, but she sighed, put the flask back in her bag so she could use her hand, and unscrewed the top of a jar containing a foul-smelling liquid. This would cause the white powder to explode violently and blow back anyone in range, as well as creating a sufficient amount of smoke so that they would not be followed. Dumping all but a minuscule amount of the white powder into the jar, she dropped the flask so that she could quickly screw the lid onto the jar. In about fifteen seconds, it'd explode. With the lid secure, she shook the jar quickly, causing it to react with the powder even faster before dropping the jar down below, in the midst of guards still following them. A satisfying boom made her smile roguishly before a giant cloud of smoke billowed up, giving them a fantastic cover. She'd have to spend weeks, maybe months, scrounging about and finding the ingredients to replace the liquid in that jar, but it was useful in emergencies and she felt as though it wasn't wasted. She would never admit it, but this was probably the best day of her entire life.

Hakota-Zai	Zai had been fortunate to outrun the explosion by a good margin, shifting through the alleys with strangely fluid motion. He held firm than only a swift airbender could catch him while he was on smooth earth. And this showed in the blurred pace he weaved through the alleys, looping towards the east. Most of the guards, instantly giving up on chasing something that flies, took off after Zai if they could see him through the smoke. It wouldn't be a great length of time before the mercenary reached the East Gate, but in no way could he outrace and Airbender, even with a load to bear.

Loki	Loki had a swift flight over to the East gate. Even with the uncomfortable weight of Nokomi dragging her down, this wasn't the worst flight she'd been through. The arrows and spears thrown at them seemed to be pushed down by a strange and benevolent wind. Of course, it was one conjured up by Loki herself. She didn't notice her friend making a combustive concoction, and she was a bit startled by the explosion. She held on in the shock. She pushed them to the East Gate, finally alighting in a tree near the entrance. She's be able to blow the gates shut as soon as Zai ran out. "How was your flight?" she asked, mostly to kill the time.

Nokomi	Letting go of Loki and leaning back against the trunk of the tree, Nokomi smiled at her--it felt odd to be smiling at another human being, she hadn't done it in so long, but she liked the feeling. "Fun and exhilarating. I quite envy you, actually." She said. She looked around, eyeing the great cloud of blue-ish white smoke that was now dissipating, looking for any trace of Zai. She hadn't given a single thought to the fact that he was down there, and was now quite worried that she might've blown him to bits. To pass the time, she pulled the contents of her bag out, one by one, and then put them back in, rearranging it so that her more offensive chemicals were at the top of the bag. All that remained out was a small knife and the flute she'd stolen. She picked it up and began carving small designs into the side of the wooden instrument, peeling away the red paint and revealing the natural white bark underneath. "So...how much fun is it being an airbender?" She asked, tearing her gaze away from the small knife's movements to look at Loki curiously. This was the first time in a great while that she actually was trying to strike up a conversation, and she fidgeted awkwardly.

Loki	Loki looked at her recent co-pilot with a bit of a smirk. It was a strange question Nokomi asked, how could she know if her day to day life was any funner than anyone else's? She rolled her answer around in her mind, deciding on a small lie or a cynical and bold faced truth. Loki had always been interested in the perceptions that people had based on simple facts, and this was definitely one of them. Why would airbending be more exciting than, well, firebending, waterbending, or earthbending? Sure she could fly, but the other bending types could do a mock version of it. But...was Nokomi a nonbender? She'd never seen her bend, so far she'd shot arrows, whipped whips, and created explosive concoctions. "I'd say I have the same amount of fun as anyone else. You seem to have a lot of fun tricks yourself." she said with a wide smile. It would be sad and boring to not be able to bend, and Loki only assumed a bender would have shown off their skills in battle. She held onto the perception that Nokomi was not a bender for now.

Hakota-Zai	It wasn't long until Zai burst through the open gates, almost tumbling as the ground beneath his feet stopped fluctuating. He came to a skidding stop, falling just short of the two. "Well... That was fun," he'd say boredly, looking back to the gate a moment. He was honestly a bit scraped up, and even reached beneath his cloak, protruding a bloody, broken arrow a moment later, tossing it to the ground. A moment later the arrow sunk beneath the cobble road, lost for an indefinite term.

Loki	Loki blew the gates shut and said, "You think they'll give chase outside of the town?" She looked at both of their faces, noting the features of each. She responded to her own question almost immediately after saying it, "Well I'm not taking any chances, let's get going," she said. She began walking in a direction, unsure of where Chin Village actually was. Her confidence made it seem like she knew though. As she walked she glanced upon the bracelet. The light it gave off was intense, almost like it increased the power of the sun. She looked away almost immediately. "Damn, that's some shiny jewelry," she mumbled, her eyes squinted into thin lines. She wondered if she should put it away, the bracelet could blind people if she wasn't careful.

Nokomi	Noko would have rather liked to look at the broken arrow Zai had just bended into the Earth, but it was too late. Loki blew the gates shut with a burst of wind, and her bracelet caught Nokomi's eye for a moment, as it was almost glaringly bright. How strange. She looked away from it, turning back to her flute. She sighed and slid down the trunk of the tree quickly, not necessarily paying much attention to the other two any longer. She was caught up in some of her own thoughts whilst running her knife along the flute, peeling away the paint, and stumbled over a small rock, slicing her thumb open. She sighed again and began to suck on it, storing the flute and knife in her bag after wiping the blood off of the knife with her shorts. Walking was quite a bore to her, and it wasn't long before she began rummaging through her bag, trying to find something else to occupy her time with. Finding some dried plants, she began crushing them and storing them into jars. For some strange reason, she went from being absolutely delighted with the way the day's events were going to slightly depressed. It was just another one of those days where she really shouldn't have been left alone with her thoughts. She looked back at Loki, then at Zai, deciding whether to speak, but decided against it. Zai looked rather tired, as she could understand, seeing as how she'd almost blown him to bits today. Loki looked...like Loki, with a determined look on her happy and haughty face. She might've been tired too, but one really couldn't tell. Well, at least if she had to run away from a bunch of guards, at least she now had some partners in doing it. It was both strange and nice to have company for a change, as she'd grown so used to solitude. She really wasn't sure how to act, and her hand twitched. Stupid social mannerisms, she thought, controlling the twitch expertly and going back to stuffing random plants into jars.
