Amaji has been alive for a very, very long time. So long, in fact, that even she has forgotten her own age. A kind, sometimes insane, old woman, she has dedicated the remainder of her life to helping weary travelers, all in exchange for a good joke. Non-intrusive, she will help anyone, for she believes all humanity is worth saving, no matter what their deeds. Amaji is perhaps the most humble, kind, and forgiving woman you will ever meet, simply because life has taught her that love and acceptance of others is the only way you can truly live.

While when she was younger she had been a fierce fighter, Amaji now only uses her waterbending to help others. Healing is a special gift she has, and she enjoys using it very much. She lost the ability to use waterbending to fight at around 40, and now Amaji can no longer waterbend unless completely calm.

Appearance: (60)
Long flowing silver-white hair. A fairly lined face, although it is apparent that when she was younger, she was very beautiful. She usually ties the hair around her face back, and wears simple Earth Kingdom clothing. A floor-length skirt and a loose green tunic paired with light green slippers are her usual attire. She usually has various herbs strung onto her belt, along with a small canteen so that she has water with her at all times.

At a young age, Amaji was a girl thirsty for success. A water-bending prodigy from the age of five, she displayed success in most everything she did. Her father and mother were very proud of her, and usually ignored her other siblings. They were not a rich family, but more often than not her parents would shower her with gifts, even if it meant that the others went hungry.

At the ripe age of fifteen, she left the Northern Water Tribe to see the world, and brought many stories and souvenirs home to her family. Loved by most, it gave her a sense of arrogance and narcissism, and her waterbending abilities excelled far above most others.

As she matured, her ferocity grew. Many who met her believed her to be cruel and heartless, because she was quite a bully. Her turning point into becoming a simple minded kind woman was when she killed someone. Although she'd been in many battles, she realized what kind of monster she was becoming after taking the life of a simple thief, and therefore moved to Chin village and has remained there ever since, running a small shop that sells herbal remedies and spices.
