Full Name: Tikaani Jahn
Gender: Male
Age: 31
Element: Water
Birthplace: Northern Water Tribe
Position: Former Merchant, Novice II Waterbender

Personality: Tikaani (or simply Tik) is a resourceful, intelligent young man. He's able to pick up and understand things with ease, and disdains those who don't. He's a planner above everything. He won't go into a situation he isn't comfortable with, and hasn't done his homework on. Some would call him cowardly, but he sees himself realistic and cognoscente as to what his odds are. Tik is impatient, both with people and the world. He won't suffer though an ounce of boredom or a person he feels is below him. Tik is very judgmental and bigoted, often refusing to get to know someone and judging them solely on appearance and stereotypes. This flaw, much like all his flaws, is completely undetectable to Tik. He believes himself completely open to anyone and everyone, patient, and perfectly humble.

Abilities: Tik kept up with his waterbending mostly in a fitness capacity. Every night before sleeping, he'd wade out into the water and bend for twenty to forty minutes. Nothing too difficult or exhaustive, but always challenging enough not to bore him. Because of this practice for twenty-odd years, Tik is a moderately skilled bender for someone not involved in it as a career. However, most of that isn’t combat based which makes him a tad nervous. In the past two-years, he’s been practicing much more and plans to increase even more. Other than waterbending, Tik has enough carpentry skill to make a functional boat, as well as a strong education and a working knowledge of the world’s geography.

Appearance: Essentially, he’s an average-looking waterbender native to the northern tribe. No special scars or tattoos. Not abnormally tall or muscular. He has light brown skin, dark, almost-black eyes and black hair. He’s a bit on the short side, but that’s never been an issue for him or anyone else. He tries to dress in traditional Northern Water Tribe as much as possible, but has found that their clothing is often impractical and uncomfortable out of the poles, and so is often forced into the green, red, and orange of other nations.

History: He was born into a moderately wealthy family, and has taken all the advantages of it. He was well educated, healthy, well dressed, and never starved from stimulation as he grew up. He was the son of shipbuilders, and it was often said that “it was in his blood.” Despite that, he never really had an interest in that side of it. Instead, he focused on the business side and found himself incredibly successful. At the tender age of 18, Tik’s parents recognized his skill and handed him the family business. It took off.
It was soon uncommon to find Mrs. Jhan’s son not in expensive clothing with high class silver jewelry on him. His business practices nearly revolutionized the industry. He had sped up the process, found more efficient materials, and even found a faster bending-method to propel the ships. Unfortunately, he became ambitious. He started investing in individual voyages. Finally, someone came to him with what seemed like the quickest way to double all he had earned. Apparently, there was an untapped spot absolutely full of fish that this one traveler had found, all he needed was enough ships to bring in the haul. Tik made a deal that he would lend the traveler the ships in exchange for half of the profit. The traveler took the ships and many of Tik’s employees, and never returned.
Tik was bankrupt. He was quick to sell the jewelry he had bought just a month earlier, but was soon hugely in debt. His parents, now very elderly, took back the business from him. Tik felt so embarrassed, he did something spontaneous for the second time in his life. He left the Northern Water Tribe, hoping to earn his fortune and return a hero. He’s been gone for two years and is seriously considering returning, but can’t bring himself to face his past.
