History: Aquoia was born in the Southern Air Temple to a pair of young Air Nomads who were far too young to be parents. The masters had been willing to let them attempt to raise their daughter, but the responsibility proved too much. In order to secure a safe and healthy environment for Aquoia, they decided to send her to the Northern Air Temple, where she was placed into the care of Master Aila Sen. Her parents came to visit her often, but Master Sen insisted that they not tell her who they were. It proved too painful for them. One day, they left from a visit and never returned.

For some years, Aquoia was an outcast. She wasn't a particularly talented bender and she didn't fit in with the other children. She was too quiet and tended to sit in corners humming to herself for hours in lieu of playing. Master Sen tried everything she could think of to spur the young bender's interest, but nothing worked. Nothing, that is, until Koy took notice of the workshop set up in the old bathhouse. It belonged to Master Ji Tong, a renowned mechanist and inventor.

A good period of time passed where Aquoia simply went and quietly watched the master at work from the rooftops where she thought he couldn't see her. She began tinkering with simple wooden devices. Gear clusters and the like. She found she was quite talented at it. Master Sen took notice and began watching for her inspiration. Sure enough, Ji Tong's influence was revealed in time. But not before Master Tong himself made the first move. He had known from the beginning, of course, that he had an audience many days. It didn't bother him. When he spotted her tinkering with a wooden box designed simply to wind up, flip a switch, and then have a small arm extend from within and flip the switch off again over and over, he took an interest in training her.

Koy, as she was now called by her two masters, spent her teenage years learning everything there was to know about mechanics and the science behind them. She quickly graduated from wood to metals and started crafting truly remarkable objects. She designed her notable revolver when she was sixteen simply to impress her master with her knowledge of trigger mechanisms and confined force. Disliking the bulky gliders, she designed one that was much small, lighter, and stronger from a light metal called aluminum.

Eventually, of course, she left the Northern Air Temple and began to travel, seeing the world. Her creations served her well. She was able to rent out her services to fix things for a few coins just about anywhere she went. She became fascinated with devices designed to trick people in her travels. Not in a malicious way, of course. Simply in the interest of entertainment. She began designing things like disappearing cabinets and the like for entertainment groups looking to put on magic shows and the like. Eventually, she became a part of the Pasang's Travelling Circus and continues to travel about to this day...
