Personality: Liang is an outgoing man, the kind of guy who can finish work, go drinking with his men and wake up early to start the day. When faced with a decision he often gets lost in thought leaving him unable to make a solid choice in a timely manner to his superiors.
Liang is fast to let things go, should someone step out of line he isn't above reprimanding them but he thinks it's usually in everyone's best interest to make punishments as quick and painless as possible and let everyone get back into the grind of things.
Abilities:
While not an accomplished fire bender Liang has shown a natural skill with a sword and a mind for tactics that placed him near the top of his class in training. With his build Liang prefers fast paced fights and doesn't rely much on brute strength.
Liang has surprising talents unrelated to fighting, he's a fairly good cook and is able to sew. Once training is completed he can be seen doing either of these if there is nothing else to do.

Compared to most soldiers one might say Liang looks a bit scrawny, he has a small yet toned build for his size. While off duty he is dressed in a fairly high quality yukata that he has altered the fit for ease of movement. He naturally grows straight hair and keeps it grown out. During training he earned a few burns and the odd cut that later scared, he is still often mistaken as a couple years younger then he truly is as he was able to keep any damage away from his face and hasn't show any noticeable sign of stress.

History:
Liang was born into an average family, a stay at home mom and a working class father. An brother nearly four years older to show him how things are done or give him a healthy dose of teasing, when he was five years old his mother gave birth to another son.
Liang never had any issues in school, he managed to get along with most other kids and the teachers thought he was a great kid. during school he always showed a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic, upon graduation he enlisted in the fire nations army - some of his teachers thought this a great idea while others approached him and told him they thought he could do more. He decided to go back to the recruiting center and looking further into his options, after a week of looking into his options he decided to pull his application as infantry and apply as an officer.
Upon being accepted into training he was given a sword by his brother and a set of medals earned by his father as a younger man. At first his sword was confiscated with the idea what he should be focusing on his bending, it took a bit of time before the class moved into weapons training and he was allowed his sword back for practice. Overall Liang graduated in the upper third of his class, second in his military philosophy and earned a quick position near the front lines as a tactician under an experienced Colonel.
Family, Liang is on good terms with his family often visits when he is in the area or on leave.
