Full Name: Kyofu Tatsumaki
Gender: Male
Age: 31
Element: Air
Birthplace: Southern Air Temple
Position: Travelling Airbending Researcher (he travels across the world, looking for rare styles of airbending to either teach to people and help revive, and to design new kinds of airbending.)
Personality: Kyofu is a very mentally strong man, always peaceful until it calls for it. He tends to be one of those people who you underestimate by looking at him, and later when your face is in a puddle of it’s own blood you wonder what just happened. He is often seen reading when he should be meditating, as he has long since progressed past the need for meditation, although he still does it occasionally. Most of the time he has his head in a book, and has been thought of as a little bit of a nerd. However, the books tend to be rather gruesome and when people read small chunks of it, they tend to need to go throw up.
Abilities: Kyofu is a master of airbending, having travelled much of the world and learned from the best. He has normal air bending (if you want a comparison, look at Tenzin), as well as two other self made styles. the first is oxygen bending, where he is able to reduce, remove or increase the concentration of oxygen in air. He can use this to strangle someone, or to cause something to explode. Finally, he has something called “Thermal current bending”. This is where he creates a strong enough thermal current to lift an area of space like it was being levitated. Right now, he is able to lift five times his weight as high as he wants, and it also allows him to fly without the huge nuisance of making an extremely visible torade of air. However, his concentration on his bending arts has caused him to become out of touch with other means of combat, and thus is only skilled in close combat and bending.
Appearance:
- Spoiler:
Height: 6’0’’
Weight: 72 kilograms
Eyes: blue
Hair: long, white hair
Kyofu is a very neat looking man, despite his constant travels. He always appears to be wearing a robe, although it’s a black robe with a white overcoat rather than the usual red and blue cloak of airbenders. This is because of his specialist airbending being different than the usual airbending, and thus he likes to make the diferentation with the way he dresses. Also, his white hair causes him to look much older than he actually is, but his face reveals his actual youth. He is lightly muscled and thin from never over indulging.
Weaponry & Other Gear:
Tinder Box: Due to some of his more... irregular bending techniques, he has found that it helps to have a tinderbox filled with matches for when he uses Oxygen bending to fill an area with explosively-high concentrations of it.
History: Kyofu was born a son of the head monk of a small temple between the north and South air temples. It was nowhere near as big as the other four, but it was well respected for the traits that it taught. However, the only way they disagreed with their air-bending brothers was that they refused to have their hair cut, and instead grew it long as it showed the natural aspect of their body. They were much more naturally inclined than their brothers, involving a lot of bonding with the natural world among their lessons. Every member had a pet, for example Kyofu’s is a small raven, which he got at the age of twelve during his lessons. It is now fully grown and usually rests on his shoulder as he walks, giving him the nickname “Snow Raven”.
He grew up like most air monks do, training every day, learning to gain inner peace, meditating, then more training. However, he spent most of his days training his air bending, and was considered a prodigy with his airbending skill. He was indeed his father’s son, and has always been almost unbelievably skilled. Whether this was from having a good life, a roof over his head and a loving mother and father and thus being able to find inner peace easily, or whether it was from just having a lot of natural skill he didn’t know. What he did know is that he needed to do something with it.
As he turned 16, he asked his father’s permission to start teaching his own students. He was allowed, and for around five years became the youngest master in the temple. However, it only took four years until he got bored of that and when he was twenty, he broke into one of the council meetings, just sitting in the corner and listening to them. Most of them thought he was a hassle and refused to continue whilst he was there, however one of the coucillors liked his spunk and so called him for a conversation afterwards. it turned out that he’d been heard of as one of the youngest airbending masters and was given a small task. He didn’t know it then but it was a trial of fire to see if he was good enough to be the councilor’s agent.
Eventually, he managed to do it and he came back with his spoils in hand... much to his boss’s joy. He was enlisted as an agent of the council, and has since been acknowledged as an unofficial member of the council, reporting back on rare aspects of airbending and visiting small clans of airbenders to try and relink them with the council, and eventually get every airbender who wants to be to be able to have their village counted in decisions. However, even more unofficially, he’s been bringing back notebooks full of bending techniques to his ex-boss to spread the knowledge of rare air-bending styles to as many people as possible, and make the entire group of them as powerful as possible.
**OPTIONAL**Sample RP: The pair had split early in the morning, so both of them would have plenty of time to get dressed into their outfits for the party. Despite Dusk's protests, he was having to dress smart, or at least smart enough so he didn't stand out. As such, he was wearing a white jacket and black smart shirt, with a pair of black chinos. He was SUPPOSED to be wearing a tie too, but he'd managed to wrangle his way out of that one at least. He grabbed his usual bandanna and, with a quick trim of the scissors, he cut off the frayed edges and made it neat enough to be acceptable, before tying it around his forehead, hiding his third eye.
Eris, on the other hand, was excelling on his fashion today. He was wearing a black jacket, buttoned up to his neck, and a pair of matching black trousers. The only other color with it was a pair of white gloves, reminiscent of a pair of butler's gloves, that he wore to stop him looking like he'd only chosen one color. Finally he was done and the pair were ready to leave
It didn't take very long to get to the guild, and a few moments later arrived just outside the Christina. Eris grinned, loving the look of the ship. It was so... unique! there was nothing else quite like it, and it was beautiful and fashionable in it's own way, even if it was a bit too blue. On the other hand, Dusk didn't seem to be impressed at all. This just seemed like a lot of flashing their aces to him, and it didn't sit right at all. This was supposed to be a weapon, not a flying ballroom. He started to wonder if the Guildmaster hadn't been hit on the head recently when she called out across the crowd, telling them to board.
Dusk started whispering to Eris as they walked towards the ramp
"Eris, you do realize that if someone was to attack the ship and win, the entire guild would die in the same fiery explosion, right?" Eris had to fight a very strong urge to facepalm as he sighed. This, THIS was his partner? This was the guy who he had to trust his life with?
"What happened to the strong Dusk that was fighting that idiot a few days ago?" Dusk sighed and looked him in the eyes
"I was just pointing out the obvious. This is going to be dangerous if it goes wrong." he said as they finally boarded the ship.
As they got on board they looked around, looking for someone to talk to. There were a lot of other recent joiners to the guild, including other people they'd only seen other people talk to... in fact, it seemed to be completely comprised of people they'd only seen other people talk to... that was when they realized that despite having joined six months, they'd never socialized with their other guildmates. They'd always been off on training, hunting or missions. There was nothing that could have counted as being friends with any of the other people here. Eris and Dusk shared the same thought, but Eris seemed to be more hurt by the idea than his partner. Dusk sensed that and grabbed his hand, smiling warmly for the first time in he didn't know when.
"If you're getting depressed about not having any friends here, let's go make some friends. Hey, what do you know? maybe we'll find a hot chick or two, make the after party more interesting?" Eris nodded and they went off to find someone interesting to talk to.
