Southern Air Temple The Southern Air Temple is located in the Patola Mountain Range, and houses both male and female airbenders. The Temple is built on top of a high cliff, and is very difficult to reach without a glider or flying or climbing animal. It also has an Air Temple Sanctuary which resides a vast number of statues of past Avatars. Northern Air Temple The Northern Air Temple is located in the Northern Earth Kingdom mountain range, and is populated by Airbenders once more, and a few Earth Kingdom civilians. The Temple was built to harness the wind and let the air flow within, but the original structure has been heavily altered by the residents, mainly for their technology. Eastern Air Temple The Eastern Air Temple is located in the mountains southeast of the Earth Kingdom, and houses both male and female airbenders. The Temple, unlike the others, is made out of three big pagodas, which are built on three separate mountains, connected by bridges. As the home of the Sky Bison population and the headquarters of the deadly Tekina-Kaze warriors, the Eastern Air Temple is considered a hub of Air Nomad defenses, and thus many airbenders who hail from here tend to have a fighting side to them.	12	249	This is a thread. Western Air Temple The Western Air Temple is located in the mountains north of the Fire Nation. Unlike the other temples, it looks like is was built upside down, for it was built underneath the edge of a cliff rather than on top of a mountain, making it very hidden. It is sometimes nicknamed "The Unreachable Fortress" because of its difficulty of accessing without airbending or flying machines, and this advantage has made it a defensive stronghold for the Air Nomads as well.
