Why is the sky blue?

It's blue because the blue in sunlight strikes nitrogen and oxygen molecules, the color with the shorter wavelength is scattered more by this collision, and since blue has one of the shorter wavelengths (along with violet) we perceive it as blue.


Why does water feel much colder than air, at the same temperature?

t has a higher specific heat and higher thermal conductivity.

Specific heat measures how much energy it takes to raise the temperature by one degree - it takes a lot more of your 98.6 to warm up water than air.

Thermal conductivity means that, when there's a temperature difference, thermal energy flows easily from the warm side (you) to the cold side (the water).
