Kaede Zorana Raiden

Kaede is a soft-spoken but oddly, a very charismatic individual. She is proud and resoundingly stubborn, but she is also very passive and generally pretty friendly. She is by no means a coward, but she knows better than to recklessly jump into a situation, instead taking after her mother and stopping for a few moments to analyze the situation at hand and then decide her actions or reactions accordingly. She is very confident in her abilities, but she is also very humble about them, never trying to prove she's better than anyone else, or rubbing her skills in anyone else's face.

Coming from a highly-disciplined household, Kaede has a strict self-imposed moral code that she follows, which is very reminiscent of the morals of a certain Varsha Zere Zakau, who in turn adopted them from the Tekina-Kaze. she tries to avoid violence, but will fight if the need arises, and will kill as well if she is left with no other practical options. She, like her brother, was taught much about honor and integrity, and these highstanding morals play a major role in her life.

Kaede is a very cheerful person, and her sweet, loving nature and charm can make many people smile. She is much more introverted than her brother, but that does not mean she is shy. It just means that she is content with entertaining herself or being alone, which she especially enjoys on fields of flowers. She is slow to anger, but very stern in warning someone if they are pushing her too far.

Peaceful and serene situations are Kaede's favorite, but she is a cunning thinker and can act quickly under pressure. she forms elaborate plans a bit slower than Katsuo, but she thinks hers through much better and also helps him refine his a bit when needed. As a result, her plans seldom fail if she has enough time to formulate them.

Ultimately, Kaede is a very feminine little girl, always wearing pretty skirts and flitting about. She enjoys pretty things, especially flowers.

Kaede is the talented daughter of a world-class ex-assassin and a powerful Fire Nation general. Because of this, and both of her parents believing that children should be trained young, she was considered no exception. Starting from age 2, she began learning the basics of Martial Arts and firebending, and by ages 5 and 6, she was learning how to use a wooden sword. While she did learn discipline, she enjoyed the training because of the way her parents presented it. Given that both of them were fond of honing skills, it was a pleasurable thing that they made interesting and exciting for Kaede, which in turn pumped her motivation and desire to train more, thus increasing her skills.

Hard work and dedication, as well as the early age of training and being born a prodigy to two very talented firebenders, all paid off and turned Kaede into a formidable opponent. She became very talented at weaponry, martial arts, and firebending. She was particularly talented at the latter, learning how to generate lightning at a common but proficient level. More than that, she also gained and honed her heat senses, which were firebending abilities perfected by her mother, Zelgius Sanaki.

While her brother excelled at strength, Kaede's forte was speed and dexterity, also being very nimble and flexible, just like her mother. She is versatile, and thinks quickly when in combat, knowing where to aim her strikes to make them hurt the most.

Firebending: Kaede is an expert firebender, considered a prodigy. she is more focused on the grace and perfection of her technique, usually using speed to throw a slew of small successive strikes than to use strength or power to shoot one giant attack. She is skilled at conjuring elaborate and deceptively strong swathes of flames.
Lightningbending: Kaede's keen level of control and perfectionist nature helped her master the basics of lightning a little earlier than usual. While she has a ways to go before becoming a master, she is very proficient at controlling swathes even of lightning the same way she utilizes fire, even though the sources of these abilities are completely different.
Martial Arts and Sword-Fighting: Kaede enjoyed martial arts and swordplay, both of which were techniques extensively taught to her by her mother Sanaki. While she enjoyed most training, martial arts were always one of her favorites. This and her dexterity augmented her skills ever further in that regard.
Heat Sense: Kaede was keenly interested in Sanaki's heat senses, and developed them strongly. She is not as keen as Sanaki and certainly not so much as Kozue, who seems to be able to use it to replace both her eyesight and hearing, which she lacks. however, Kaede can close her eyes and keenly observe most of her immediate surroundings, which was about where Sanaki was when she was Kaede's age--maybe a few years earlier.


Kaede bears a strong resemblance to her mother, though possesses very distinct features of her father as well. his skin and hair color are most prominent among them, being lightly tanned, and having wavy brown hair. She has a petite frame the way her mother does, but has the slender, athletic build of Tarek as well.

Despite that wavy hair, she always kept it neat and well-maintained, as she always enjoyed looking pretty, even if she was not vain in the slightest. Her momma had always taught her to look her best, and Kaede took that very seriously, and still does to this day, always appearing as one of the best-dressed little girls you could meet.

She has a slender frame, but is also in very good shape. She is also very lithe, almost to the point of being double-joined. she can do a full-180 splits pose with her legs, and can easily perform flips and handstands and the likes. She always dresses in nice clothing; even in casual occasions, she will usually be looking cute. While she almost always wears long sleeves the same way her mother does (and contrary to the image xP), it is rumored that Kaede's little knees have never been covered, since that's around where her favorite skirts end, and she is always wearing one. If she is ever in a dodgy place, she will carry weapons, but otherwise, remains unarmed more often than not, preferring her martial arts and firebending skills.

Kaede was born into a very close-knit and loving family, and it seemed that said family was the center of the lives of every member of said family. She had a very happy childhood, full of vibrant toddler memories, growing up with her twin brother Katsuo, and playing "skill games" with her parents as they taught her useful abilities. She was normally very well-behaved but she seemed to be easily swayed by Katsuo when he wanted her to accompany him in one of his shenanigans. She would also often fall victim to getting her skirts pulled right off by Katsuo, but she learned to deal with it. She also took the part of Avatar Zulera in one of their favorite games "Novai and Zulera". however, she learned at a very young age that she wouldn't be emulating Zulera's trademark of stripping from the waist up.

Kaede loved flowers growing up, and spent many hours in the family flower garden, arranging, picking, sniffing, and even planting and tending to those flowers with Zerviah, the ancient old keeper of the grounds. She also took up her mother's passion of dancing and enjoying the outdoors (As well as a few other things), and was overall always an adorable little girl whose adorable movements and appearance could make even the most hardened person want to pick her up and lovingly squeeze her.

When Kaede was 6, a terrorist group attacked the Zelgius estate while Tarek and Sanaki were out and kidnapped him and his sister. The mastermind of the plot, a dangerously powerful firebending master named Raikou, led the strike for his own personal reasons. He was truly a devious fellow, even being well-aware of the groundskeeper of the Zelgius Estate, a then-116-year-old waterbending legend who had seen two massive-scale world wars, fought in hundreds of smaller ones, and travelled the world extensively. Knowing that she was dangerous, he brought enough men to keep her occupied. While Zerviah was a one-woman army, decisively gaining victory over these mooks by slaying them, Kaede and Katsuo were still lost in the fray. It was a terrifying ordeal for little Kaede, but it caused her to bond extremely closely with Katsuo, and in a unique way no less. Ever since then, Kaede has always hated being too far from Katsuo.

During their imprisonment, Katsuo put his quick thinking skills to the test, and Kaede used her logic to help refine the plans. Soon, during a transfer to a different hideout, they made a daring escape, attacking their captors with small but searing fireballs, and made a break for it. Kaede, being significantly faster than Katsuo, pulled him along, determined not to let him get left behind.
After a long game of evasion, which was immediately succeeded by a game of "fine-out-where-we-are", she, Katsuo, and their parents were eventually reunited. it was one of the better days of her life, and she has always deeply appreciated her parents and her blessings ever since.

Since then, Kaede has continued to hone her little charisma skills, as well as her familial bonds, both with her brother and parents, but also with her new siblings, as well as her older adopted sister, Kozue Maziki Zenava. She and Zerviah developed a special bond as well, particularly over maintenance of the flower garden, which she wanted Kaede to take over for her when (or if) she passed away. At 130, she thinks the time is near, but at the same time, jokes that she is immortal, which she might actually be.
These were just a few of the many things that helped shape Kaede into the fine young lady that she is today.
