Minali Otoyome	Smiling brightly, offering Akhet a wink, Minali moved over to the switch on the wall, starting up the moving, clanking toys. Then, with a flourish, she strode to the door, flipping the sign from 'closed' to 'open'. "Welcome t'Toys of th'West!" She greeted the children and their parents before moving aside. All eight or nine of the kids gave a squeal of joy, rushing into the store. Their parents were much slower, looking around at everything. Then... the madness began. Within five minutes, Minali had pulled two kids off of shelves and reminded three others that there was no running.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet was ready, and so order in the store was kept even better with him around. Perhaps that self-proclaimed title of "Arctic Fox" was suitable. He blended in with his environment, was fast and was quiet and cunning. (And was all soft and fuzzy at the end of the day.) he zipped out of nowhere to keep a few curious souls from wandering back into the the house, and while he meant what he said, his soft voice made him come off as much less imposing when he told people no this or no that. He did also have to deny someone a purchase due to their outstanding tabs, and he followed up with "so you best be paying that sweet lass over there her money instead of going off and wasting it in another gambling ring." But apart from that, he operated smoothly and was hardly considered a nuisance at all. a few times he tried stealing a kiss from Minali when he thought no one was looking; other times he would just bounce her curls, his ever-watcheful eyes making sure things ran the way they were supposed to.

Minali Otoyome	Minali was just as busy, though she usually dealt with the children, rather than the parents. For about an hour, a little after noon, she disappeared into the basement to fix up a toy or two, and to throw another one together before reappearing to the delighted squeal of several children. Once she was done with that, she snuck a sandwich into Akhet's hand with a wink, before taking over the register. Finally, at closing time, she was able to usher out several of the children - though she often had to stop to give more hugs and promises to open the toy store tomorrow - shutting the front door and flipping the sign to closed. With a wave at a couple small girls, she finally turned to the empty store and sighed contentedly. "They're all gone," Minali smiled up at Akhet.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet definitely assisted in the closing up. Not to say he was eager to close... but he was eager to close. He liked his alone time with his dear love Minali. Being very family-geared almost to a fault, like many Water Tribespeople were, he was generally well-received, giving some of the children hugs of his own, and some of the bigger ones he bear hugged till they grunted and laughed. Soon though, they were all out, and other than a little echoing in his ears form the noise dying down, Akhet was perfectly well. "Hey... that they are, sweetie. and my oh my, you still look as fine as ever. What am I going to do with such a beautiful woman like yourself?" he had a few ideas, such as a date night in the park like he had promised, but he wanted her input as always.

Minali Otoyome	"Th'beautiful woman's hungry as an angry saber-tooth moose lion," Minali grinned, moving closer to Aket, "Y'up fer somethin' t'eat?" Moving to take his hand, she began to lead him back into the house, toward the kitchen door. Then, with a softer smile, "Y'were real good with th'kids today, Akhet... Ah was really impressed." She knew that he would be good, of course, but he had been amazing. Constantly, Minali's eyes were drawn to him, lifting one of them up, or carefully admonishing them for climbing on things, or helping another figure out how a toy turned on.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	"Well," he grinned, quite pleased that she had called herself beautiful. "Let's put some food in that beautiful woman's cute belly." he chuckled, patting her stomach and following her into the kitchen. "Aye, I'm up for some eats. I can help cook too if you want to." He did sort of feel bad for her always cooking all the time. He may not have been a professional chef, but he could make a handful of good, solid meals with the right ingredients. "You were too of course... you seemed quite familiar with a lot of 'em. Me... well, my family isn't the only large one in the Water Tribes." It was true of course, that the Water Tribes had always been very family-centric, but as a result, it also meant they had more kids and larger families. Akhet was used to being one of the folks to play with the children. He had healed injuries on a few of them even. "I'm glad I could help though. You make an excellent coworker and probably the best roommate ever." he grinned.

Minali Otoyome	"Most've 'em come 'round a lot," Minali explained with a smile, sifting through the ice box, "Their folks tolerate it, since it keeps 'em busy. An' that means they're more likely t'spend money here." Pulling out a few things, then returning them, she stares down at the food items, her lower lip jutting out slightly, in thought. "What d'ya know how t'make?" She asked, looking over at him, "Ah'd be up fer learnin' t'do somethin' new, if you'd teach me?"

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet smiled. "Nothing wrong with loyal regular customers, I'd say." he indicated, "means a steadier cash flow. Besides... I'm good with kids. it's basically required in the Water Tribes, there are so many of the little buggers running around." he laughed. "well..." he pulled a few things out of the cupboards that he had purchased the day they had gone to the bazaar. "a bit of meat and vegetables." he answered, "I dunno what it's called... but you basically kind of throw them all together with some sauce and seasonings, cook, and enjoy." Looking at her, he asked, "sound good?" It was a common meal back home, although usually had more fish involved and less vegetables, but he figured mixing it up this way would be for the better.

Minali Otoyome	Her eyes grew wide, "Oooh... Ah'd like t'try it!" Anything that Akhet made was likely going to taste great. "How d'ya start?" She was ready to help in any way that was needed; cutting, grating, chopping... Minali bounced on the balls of her feet, waiting for instructions. Doing things with him made her happy, too; far more so than doing them alone. Especially things like this, where she only did them alone because she had been all alone.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	"hmm... any seasonings you can recommend would be good." he nodded, for the Fire Nation had a wider variety due to their access to more herbs than the 'Tribes. "for now..." he motioned towards the vegetables, "aye, chopping would do well. "cut 'em into bite-sized pieces... kinda like kebobs." he was getting out the meat and a pan, firing up the stove to begin cooking it. "And you might like it..." he grinned playfully but lovingly at her, "but I usually sing while I cook. You won't mind that at all, will you?" He knew damn well she wouldn't--if anything it'd make her squeal in delight.

Minali Otoyome	At that, Minali squealed in delight. "Ah'd love that!" She told him truthfully, though she refrained from bouncing, since she had just picked up a sharp knife, "Y'sing as much as y'want, Akhet, an' Ah'll love every second..~" Moving to cut the meat, she started to think about the seasonings. Rattling off a few aloud, she pulled the canisters from her cupboard, so that he wouldn't have to go looking. "Here ya go!" She gestured at them with a bright smile.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	He noted that she had picked up a sharp knife, but still hugged her anyways because she was just too adorable when she was squealing in delight. Nope, he was helpless to resist her adorable charms when she did that. "I assumed as much." he smirked playfully at her. "Alrighty then." releasing her from the hug, he set to work helping her chop the meat so he could get it to brown while they chopped and seasoned the vegetables. Akhet took the spices and seasonings. "Thank you much." he smiled, working on seasoning the meat as it cooked, also stirring together a saucy mixture from a few other ingredients. "we'll toss the veggies into this pan with the meat in a few minutes after it's browned a little more." he smiled at her.

Minali Otoyome	"Why don'tcha put 'em all in, at once?" Minali asked, surprised, tilting her head to the side. In her world, filled only with breakfast food, all of the ingredients went into the pan at approximately the same time. This was a foreign concept, for her. It also seemed like a lot more guesswork... something she wasn't too fond of doing; liking everything precise and measured. At the same time, she moved in a little behind him, peeking around him at the pan, as if it might explode. Really, she just didn't want to block his view of the cooking food.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet smiled at her. "Mostly because the meat cooks the slowest, and so if they all went in at the same time, the other ingredients would get burned, while the meat would just barely be cooked." he explained. He was more of the type of person to make educated guesses and/or make things up as he went. He waited a few more moments, humming softly before pouring the rest of the food in. similarly, he was watching the sauce closely, and within another couple of minutes, he poured it in as well to mix with the meat and vegetables. a pleasant aroma soon began to fill the room.

Minali Otoyome	Minali watched in fascination as the food began to simmer in the sauce, becoming almost like stew or hotpot. She would have bungled the recipe - or the dish in general - for sure, if she had been trying to make it alone. While it was not her way, necessarily, she liked how Akhet was. His confidence was something that she really admired, and wished that she had, as well. Minali felt, most times, like he was the one who was bright, and that she was a rock in the corner.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	It was sort of a saucy dish that was served on plates--the sauce brought out the extra flavor in the meat and the vegetables, and the seasonings added to it quite nicely. it was almost done at this point. Luckily Minali did not say such things though, because Akhet would have had to pull her aside. He was indeed confident, but he was also confident in the skills and appearance of his lover. He did love reminding her of this. "Whatcha thinkin' about, love?" he asked as he hummed. He was mostly just noting that she was awfully quiet. Maybe it came from interest in his cooking, or maybe she was in thought.

Minali Otoyome	"Ah was thinkin' 'bout how y'can throw stuff together without a plan an' have it come out great," She answered, still watching that there food, "An' how Ah have'ta plan an' design an' think, but it still don't come out right." In that sense, she was referring to her machines - specifically her psuedo-airbending device. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, however Minali had actually said it; she just admired that skill in Akhet.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet put a gentle hand on her shoulder, still also watching the nearly-done food. "well I didn't just randomly wing this." he confessed, "I've made it hundreds of times. there were usually different ingredients and less seasonings, but it was ultimately the same thing. Trust me, I'd be more amazed if this was my first try too... so while I may not plan it out... I have trial and error... plenty of error." he laughed, as if remembering some of his past disastrous cooking attempts, of which there were many. a few minutes later, and he took a whiff of the cooking, and smiled at her. "I think it's ready." he told her. "why don't you go ahead and sit down, and I'll be right over?" With the pan in one hand, he was already grabbing two plates and forks out, stacking a couple of cups on them as well.

Minali Otoyome	"Oh yeah? How much error?" Minali laughed, moving over to the table, taking her seat. Then, after a moment, "Y'sure y'don't want me t'help..? Even with th'silverwear?" She wasn't really used to having someone serve her dinner; it wasn't uncomfortable, but she wanted to offer her help, anyway. It did smell really good, and she couldn't wait to eat some of it... though she didn't really know exactly what it was. Akhet made it, and it smelled delicious, so it must be good.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	"More than I'm willing to admit." he laughed in response. "rest assured." as he set the food on the table, she asked a question which Akhet in turn answered. "Well, we'll need something to drink..." he nodded, quite fine with water himself if she was. "Otherwise, I think we're ready to sit down and dig in." Assuming she got the water, he began divvying up the food onto the two plates, giving himself a bit more than her only because they both knew he ate a bit more than she did. He would gladly share some of his though if she felt like she didn't get enough.

"Ah'll set," She announced with a smile, watching him plate the food. There was no need to complain about portions; in fact, she may have more on her plate than she could even eat, and she'd never get upset about it, in the first place, anyway. "Can Ah try it, now?" She asked, bouncing in her seat, picking up a spoon, ready to dig in.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Grinning at her as he sat down beside her with the meal ready in front of them, he couldn't help but chuckle at how excited she was. "one second." he bounced her curls playfully, stealing a kiss on the cheek. "Okay... NOW feel free to dig in." he smiled, doing the same. the sauce seemed to be tomato-based, although the seasonings in it also made it stand out. It was not spicy, but it had a lively flavor to it. the meat was still nice and hot, but not overcooked and dry. the vegetables were fairly crisp and still full of flavor augmented by the sauce. All of it was not enough to burn one's mouth, but was still quite hot given that it had barely been taken out of the pan. "How do ya like it?" he asked her during bites, waiting to see her response.

Minali Otoyome	Minali didn't even stop eating, in order to answer. Instead, she nodded several times, holding her hand out to give him a thumbs up! She didn't speak until she'd finished the entire plate, even though she had been thinking that it would be too much for her to eat. "That was amazin'!!" She told Akhet with a broad smile, "Ah loved it! It was tangy an'... just amazin'!" She was a fan.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet smiled, glad that she liked his food. After seeing the thumbs up, he resumed eating too until it was all gone. He listened to her remarks (as she finished slightly before him) and grinned at her once he finished. "I'm glad you liked it." he chuckled. "I'll have to make it more often it seems." Not that he minded Minali's cooking either though. 'more often' could refer to simply 'more than once' as opposed to every day or something, which even Akhet would consider too much.

Minali Otoyome	"Ah'll have'ta get'cha t'teach me how t'cook," Minali smiled brightly, her accent coming out a lot more, because she's happy - it's happened several times, since he's known her, "So Ah can make more'en breakfast foods... Widen m'horizens an' whatnot." She did love that he cooked, and that he let her help out. It was really sweet, Mina thought, that he would do that for her.
