Personality: Youta is a very power hungry person who desires nothing more than to be in complete control. Due to this he often has problems when he is not in control of a situation and will not work well in a group if he is not in some type of a leading role. This thirst for power however has lead to Youta being very cunning and tactical. Youta prefers to calculate the situation no matter how little and then decide which would be best before acting. Due to his bringing up he is also of relatively high intelligence. This however contributes greatly to his arrogance and his lack of empathy for those who he deems unworthy, which could be considered a great weakness for him. To achieve his goals he will go to many lengths and is always yearning for change and for something greater. Whilst lacking empathy for those who he deems unworthy he holds great value in those close to him due to their scarceness and justifies his actions, good or bad, by using them as a reason. Youta's main goal is to become one of the most famous names in the world. He enjoys mostly reading and logical games such as chess but also has a weak spot for fighting and the adrenaline rush that he gains from it. Although he tries to hide it he also has an enormous love for animals especially those which he can ride. Youta has a strong hatred for those who do not make use of what they have and instead decide to rely on others. For instance the able-bodied who refuse to work only to receive payments for doing nothing. He also detests those who are immeasurabley weaker or less intelligent than him as they do not allow him to act like he normally would. (304)
Abilities: Youta is a very skilled firebender having spent a year watching people firebend and then 5 years at a dojo training under a firebending master. He has near perfect fundamentals and uses the most basic of skills to his advantage, preffering to expand on the basics instead of leaning complicated advanced moves. Although he spent a long time training he never learnt lightning generation, redirection or any type of special training. Having focused on the fundamentals and the basics however, he was able to use them to ‘create’ new techniques. For example instead of using his swords and firebending apart, he uses his knowledge of the basics and swords to be able to use his swords for firebending allowing for more precise and deadly strikes as well as a longer range on his sword. He has also learnt how to wield and use a katana but did not advance with it very far and his knowledge of it remains quite simple. Relatively quick, Youta prefers to dodge and wear out the opponent before himself attacking. His hand to hand combat is quite good but against somebody with concentrated training in that area he would not stand a chance. Having travelled the world a lot, he also learnt how to incorporate different bending styles into his firebending. For instance instead of just using his firebending for attacking, he will also create multiple walls of fire, much like an earthbender would do with earth, to prevent an attack from reaching him in the first place. That ability though is quite draining so he will only use it if he feels like it is absolutely necessary. His main disadvantage is that he cannot tolerate cold or pain very well. Instead of training his body to take pain and endure it, he preferred to avoid it altogether which means when he does get hit hard, it will be likely that he won’t be able to recover quickly enough to continue fighting. He is also quite distinguishable due to his height and this also makes for an easier target. Couple with the fact that he usually overthinks things and does not act very quickly initially, if a person can strike quickly enough, he will usually go down. Having travelled for around 2 years now he has also learnt to abandon some of his morals and will do whatever is necessary to survive. This consequentely makes him quite suspicious of anybody who attempts to befriend him. (410)

Despite his distinct hair and eyes, Youta does not have any distinguishing features that could make him stand out. At 6”5 feet he seems to stand a little bit higher than most men his age. Due to being a fighter and having trained in a dojo for a long time, he is quite muscular but he can hide this fact by simply wearing baggy clothes. Usually sporting a simple black vest top and baggy trousers, he does not have an interest in his looks that much. Preferring a rough look his hair tends to be messy and spiked up and he will very rarely fix it, preferring to keep it that way. However due to his goals and what he aspires to be, he also has a large knowledge of what he should wear and whilst in large cities he would wear traditional Fire Nation robes which are dark red with black stripes. He lacks any real distinguishing features on his face but he does have a very large scar going down his chest diagonally from his left shoulder to his right hip from a fight with a swords master. His red eyes are often mistaken for being brown due to the shade of his eyes being quite dark and murky and can only be really seen as red when up close. He has very large feet due to his size and his tanned skin often differs depending on which part of the world he is in and how long he has been there. When travelling through the Earth Kingdom he will most likely be found wearing the usual vest top and trousers but will also sport a straw hat and a cloak for the colder nights. (267)

Item Name Dao Swords
Materials:Silver Blade with metal alloy hilt
Description: These two Dao swords were swords made by Youta’s grandfather and were handed down to Youta’s father and eventually Youta. Made out of silver, they allow Youta to use them to bend fire with. Youta’s main weapon of choice, he will usually send fire down the metal hilt and blade which is made of the conductive metal silver to cause more damage to the opponents. He also uses them to cauterise wounds. They have curved edges and are mainly slashing weapons but can be used to stab, usually yielding bad results however. The only distinguishing features on them are the inscriptions on the hilt which read “ Luck favours those who try”
Item Name Straw Hat
Materials: Straw
Description: A simple hat that is used by Youta to conceal his identity or to protect him from the sun. Does not provide any combat purposes and if used during combat with limit Youta’s peripheral view.
History: Youta was born into a very well off family and did not have much trouble throughout his life. His grandfather was a smith and Youta's father was a smith himself until he went onto a university in the capital of the Fire Nation. There he became a scholar where he met Youta's mother and soon thereafter Youta was born. Due to business Youta lived with his Grandmother, Grandfather and Mother for most of his child years with frequent visits from his father. His father earned good money as a professor which meant that Youta never had any troubles with life. He tended to help out with his grandfather in the Blacksmiths and gained quite a knowledge of smithing weapons but he never dared to attempt it, glad to learn about how and what made each thing. Due to his fathers profession Youta was also never short of books to read and this became one of his main hobbies. It was no doubt that Youta was going to become a firebender due to his lineage and it soon showed. Like most of his family before him he was taught what he needed. His grandfather taught him but only the very basics. It would take until Youta left home for him to find a true fire bending master
In school is where his lust for power and control began. His upbringing meant that he had an easy time at school and this meant that he was often surrounded by those who thought he would rub off on them. However Youta soon learned that knowledge was power and soon starting tutoring students for money and favours. He would 'teach' them and they would pass without breaking a sweat. In return he would become richer or somebody would owe him something. For a long time Youta was untouchable and he used his favours very efficiently. However when he left school at the age of 16 he lacked any motivation to carry on his education and simply decided to leave home. Unfortunately the power which he had felt in his school years affected him in ways he did not understand yet and his search for power began.
He however found out that the outside world was not as simple. He managed to get people to owe him but he usually found himself using these favours for petty things such as money for food. He soon found himself using his firebending to steal food and to mug people until one day, 1 year after having left home he mugged his future teacher. The firebender was called Han and agreed to not press charges if Youta worked at his dojo for a year. Youta spent that year watching people at the dojo and cleaning up. He lived at the dojo and did whatever was required of him without payment. However with a roof over his head and 3 meals a day it was better than what he was doing previously
When the year was up Youta pleaded with Han to allow him to stay and begged him to teach him. Under the same conditions as before Youta was allowed to stay. However his workload increased tenfold and the spare time he had before was occupied by training with Han. Youta spent 5 years in the Dojo leaning from Han and helping run the dojo. He soon became one of the top students at the dojo and had a key role in the maintenance of the dojo. Han passed away in Youta’s 5th year and although Youta believed that he would inherit the dojo, it went to another student.
Enraged, Youta challenged the student to a duel but the student refused, telling Youta that his thirst for power was exactly what had prevented this. Youta attempted to kill the student in the night but his attack was expected. Youta and the student fought for a long time and by the time that the fight was over Youta was surrounded and had no choice but to surrender. He attempted to burn down the dojo when surrounded which would have took his life as well as everyone elses. The fire was easily extinguished by the many firebenders in the dojo. For his actions he was banished from the Dojo and ever since he has been travelling around the world, using his bending to try and gain a foothold in the political world. (732)

Youta continued to run away from the bandits. He was in big trouble this time. It was night time and he had decided to continue travelling alone. He could hear their footsteps but couldn't see them. From the sounds it seemed like there were no more than 6 of them but that was still too much for him to handle. He continued to run down the path and then took a sharp turn to the right. He lit a small fireball in his hand no larger than a baseball and dropped it behind him. He continued doing this as he moved along. If he could start a forest fire they wouldn't be able to find him. He could still hear them as her ran deeper into the forest.
He soon found a cave and thought about going in. The fire did not stop the bandits but they were very far behind. Instead of going into the cave he aligned certain rocks in certain places to make the entrance very narrow. He then got a stick and set it on fire and threw into into the now very small entrance. He was very hurt and he wasn't the strongest guy which meant he was very fatigued. The bandits were approaching so Youta quickly dove into a deep bush covered in nettles and broken sticks. He wanted to scream but managed to contain the pain
"In here!" One of the bandits shouted as they saw the light in the cave. Everything was going according to plan until suddenly one of the bandits spread his arms out. The rocks moved out of the way easily and the bandits could tell nobody was inside. It was obvious that the man was an earthbender. It was only a matter of time till they found Youta hiding in the bushes. He didn’t really want to fight against a bunch of bandits of unknown potential. He couldn’t calculate his chances of coming out of this alive but he was sure that they weren’t high.
He jumped out of the bush and tried to make a run for it. He didn’t get very far before he heard shouts and rocks flying at him. He continued to run as fast as he could but as he did the earth shifted beneath him and he tripped. It wasn’t very powerful but it was enough that the bandits could catch up to Youta. Youta stood up and faced the bandits. There was no escaping now. He had to fight if he wanted to continue living. “ We finally got you “ said the earthbender. He was the only one without a weapon. Youta assumed that this meant the others could not bend.
A small rock flew towards Youta suddenly. It hit him in his left shoulder and knocked him back. It was obvious who it came from but Youta was shocked. The earthbenders form was horrendous. It became apparent that he had no formal training. Youta regained his balance and took a deep breath. The bandits looked at him strangely as he entered a fighting stance. All at once they charged at him with their weapons, leaving only the large earthbender in his original spot. Youta swiftly span around the first attacker placing his hand on his back. A blast of fire shot out of his hand onto the attacker causing the bandit to scream in shock. The second attacker snuck up on Youta and before Youta realised his left leg had been pierced. Using his right foot Youta kicked the second attacker. The attacker fell back and as he did fire erupted from Youta’s foot and latched onto the attacker. Youta rolled away from the bandits and stood up, using his right foot mainly. He pulled out the small dagger in his left leg. The earthbender was the only one still there. He was shouting obscenities at his bandits who had abandoned him. Youta quickly punched the air multiple times, fire flying from his hands each time he did. The earthbender raised a wall to protect himself but it was obvious he couldn’t do much. Rocks hit Youta continuously though and he could not do much to avoid it due to his leg. It was simply a matter of who could outpower who and it was becoming apparent that Youta would win. With one final blast Youta punched the air and a giant stream of fire burst through the air and destroyed the wall of earth and then hit the bandit. The bandit screeched as the fire slowly burnt him. Youta quickly turned and ran, well the best he could with an injured leg and multiple bruises. (772)
