Ryuu Takeshi	It wasn’t common knowledge, but Ryuu had a crush on Xi since they were kids. Though with Xi’s dedication to training, the Tekina-Kaze and the Air Nomads, as well as the fact that Ryuu was secretly a hooded mercenary for hire, prevented him from ever acting on his feelings. Xi’s straightforwardness had Ryuu at a loss for words. “W…what?” he said with eyes bigger than dinner plates. Inside the ship, Ryuu pondered Xi’s words. He was always analytical, accustomed to planning and devising intricate traps and set ups to eliminate his targets for his secret life as an assassin. He still doubted that just bursting into a room full of firebenders was the best course of action. He reached onto his leather pelt and pulled out a few small leather pouches, with little fuses attached to them. “Smoke bombs,” he said holding them up. “Here’s what I’m thinking, we open the doors, but hide, so that they don’t see us. They will be confused as to why the doors just randomly opened and start trying to figure out amongst themselves what the hell is going on. That’s when we toss a couple of these in and take them out!” He grinned at her. “What do you think?”

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	Xi just chuckled. "you heard me." for a moment, she seemed very different, her voice and expression sounding very feminine for once, and instead of the boyish warrior that Ryuu was probably so used to seeing, he would see a woman underneath it. He was one of the only people that Xilingshi would joke with like that, becuase she secretly liked him. However, since she was not his superior on the battlefield, or really even his comrade-in-arms, she was much too shy to ever say anything. She listened to his plan. "Smoke bombs, mm?" she cooed, "I like that thought. let's do it." That was all that she felt needed to be said. She waited for his movements from here, as he was the one making the plan.

Ryuu Takeshi	Ryuu blinked once and then awkwardly spoke. “I...er…wouldn’t know...um…sorry, after you…” he said gesturing for the door. As Xi walked in he slapped his forehead and cursed under his breath for acting like such an idiot. Her voice, which sounded softer and more feminine, threw him off completely. He wished he could have the moment back, maybe to say something kind, maybe to even hint at his intentions or feelings, but he had to shake off those thoughts and get back to the fight. Ryuu grabbed one side of the door, and motioned for Xi to grab the other after he tossed her a couple of grenades. He gave her a nod and began pulling the door back. Sure enough he could hear the general’s inside standing up and begin asking each other questions, wondering why the doors just mysteriously opened. Ryuu looked to Xi and whispered, “I’m sorry,” as he rolled two smoke grenades into the room and drew his bow. He shut his eyes and took long deep breaths, bringing his heart rate down to make his shots more accurate. He knew that what he was about to do went completely against the airbender code, and although he knew that Xi wouldn’t judge him, he felt guilty. Nonetheless, he knew that these Generals had to die. He counted down the ten second fuses in his mind, and as soon as the smoke bombs detonated, he stood up, turned and launched a lightning fast arrow at one of the silhouettes in the smoke. The arrow struck the closest General to the door, who posed the most immediate threat, in the right eye, killing him before he hit the ground. Ryuu instantly rolled to the side to avoid the randomly aimed fireblasts which now littered the room. He got up onto his knee directly after his roll, with an arrow already set in his bow, which he launched instantly, striking a second General in the right eye as well. Three Generals remained, shooting anywhere they heard a noise from, they had absolutely zero visibility.

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	"Entirely my fault." she confessed as they went down the hall. Xi was notoriously selfless most of the time, sometimes to the point where she endangered herself, her safety, her health, or even just her general well-being. Perhaps this was an explanation for why she looked so stressed or tired all the time behind those commanding eyes. Whatever the case, she was not about to bring that up. Her problems were not important, and she liked to ignore them as well. She grabbed the door with one hand and the grenades with the other. "It's better that a few men be killed than those men be allowed to lead hundreds or thousands of men and women to their deaths." she responded stoically. after they had launched their grenades into the room, Ryuu took aim and shot the nearest general. Xilingshi's attack was a bit more violent, as she sprung right into the room and into the smoke. she swirled some winds around her head to prevent herself from inhaling the smoke, and from her position, which was on the large table in the middle of the room, she jumped onto her hands, kicking her bare feet in opposite directions, pushing two generals aside.She aimed for a third one, and this one looked like one of the highest-ranked men in the room, based on the slight silhouette of his decorated figure. she shot him at nearly point-blank range with a powerful combustion attack, and knew it had left her mark. blood splattered all over her front, and she felt more blood splatter behind her. Ryuu had hit another one of the men, but she was not sure where, and the man seemed to still be alive. in the hazy smoke, Xi used her swift reflexes to avoid the fireballs, but a few almost singed her. Xi aimed a powerful air blast that was essentially a cutting edge of wind, and it left its mark on another man, given his cut-off screams and the sound of more blood spurting. That meant there was only one general left. Xilingshi ignored whatever injuries she had taken, but suddenly the vision in her left eye clouded, and Xi felt blood ooze into it. Apparently a cut on her forehead was leaking down into her eye, so the eye itself was thankfully okay. She continued her fight, also feeling a fireball singe so close to her feet that she felt if she had been wearing shoes, the soles would have been burned right off. the heat from the flames did make her feet feet a bit sensitive, but they were not burned, per se. She soon found herself back to back with Ryuu. she recognized the way he stood and moved in the haze. "there's one left." she whispered, "we gotta finish him off."

Ryuu Takeshi	Ryuu watched as Xi re-emerged from the smoke filled room. From the looks of it, she had taken two Generals down as well. He turned to her when she spoke, but hardly heard a word of what she said as he noticed that her head was badly cut, and that blood was all over the front of her body. She also seemed to be a little tired and her feet looked quite injured judging by how she was moving. “Xi!?” he shouted as he jumped towards her, holding her shoulders in her hand, and inspecting her closely for any more injuries, “You’re hurt!?” he said in a very worried tone. Oblivious to the fact that the last General was now making his way to the door, and that this General, was the one who had bested him earlier. A crackling sound emanated from the room and quickly snapped Ryuu out of his stupor. It was the unmistakable sound of lightning being charged up. Ryuu quickly grabbed Xi with one hand, pulling her against him, while he thrust his other hand forward, releasing a massive gust of wind down the passage. They were instantly propelled in the opposite direction and Ryuu shut his eyes tightly as they narrowly avoided a deadly bolt of purple lightning. As they came to a standstill, Ryuu held Xi at arm’s length. “Xi, are you okay?” he asked as, standing up and helped her do the same. A cackle erupted from the other end of the hall and Ryuu looked up to find the last General approaching, smiling confidently as he began charging up more lightning at his fingertips. “You two have interfered enough for one day I think!” he roared.

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	Xi managed to shrug it off. "don't worry about me. we got bigger fish to fry." She always said that, regardless of if her pains were major or minor. in this case, they were rather significant, but the last thing she wanted at the moment was him worrying enough over her that he forgot about the main objective. Luckily Ryuu caught on and propelled them backwards down the hallway with a powerful airbending move. However, this was not the end of their troubles. "Yeah... I'm fi..." then the general of all people showed up. Xi sprung up instantly and had an attack prepared herself. she took a deep breath, concentrated her hand, and soon a popping noise was heard as well. She was going to launch her combustion attack, ideally before the general shot his lightning. it was the only way to really avoid the attack, as running or trying to block through other methods would not work this time.

Ryuu Takeshi	Ryuu’s eyes widened and he braced himself; he knew how destructive Xi’s combustion attack could be and almost felt sorry for the General on the receiving end of it. However, as the combustion attack was fired off, the General quickly slipped into one of the many rooms that lay along the passage. As the combustion attacked passed, the General flew out of the room and shot out a bolt of lightning, which luckily missed the two airbenders, if only slightly. Ryuu launched a massive spinning ball of air down the passage towards the General, who once again just jumped into a room to take cover from it, charging up his lightning again. “We need to move Xi! There is no room to maneuver in here!” he said gesturing to a nearby ladder which led up to the deck. “Go quickly! I’ll cover you!” he said as he released blast upon blast of air down the passage, trying to keep the General pinned down. As he said this the sound of lightning charging up filled the passage once more.

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	The fact that she missed did not leave her fazed, and Xilingshi continued to press her attack to buy them some much needed time and distance. soon they came to a dilemma. Xilingshi would not have any of this 'fleeing first' business. "a good leader never leaves a soldier behind!" she replied, "you go, I'll cover for you. I'm used to things like this." Xilingshi's heritage was unclear, but she seemed to have a lot of Fire Nation influence in her life, and even in her airbending styles. She was fierce and forward, with powerful, dangerous swipes and attacks launched from her hands and feet like an Agni Kai. "Go! I'll be right behind you!"

Ryuu Takeshi	Ryuu facepalmed, once again their very different styles were at odds with each other. One thing that both Ryuu and Xi shared however was incredible stubbornness. “Xi! There isn’t time to argue!” he said loudly, he wondered if she would even follow him up to the deck, part of him thought that she would sooner run down the hall and attack the General head on, no matter the risk. He quickly realized that he wouldn’t be able to change her mind. “Fine,” he sighed pulling an arrow back in his bow and aiming it down the passage, “just…be careful…” he continued with a slight whisper. He knew they could do this, but they were in a bad position, a dead end with very little room to manoeuvre, and although the passage helped them focus their bending, it didn’t help much against the approaching lightning-spewing general who just took cover in one of the many rooms that littered the passage every time the airbenders tried to attack. “Get ready,” he whispered to Xi as he aimed down the hall, waiting for the exact moment the General would attack. Suddenly the general leapt out of cover, launching a bolt of lightning towards the airbenders, at the very same time, Ryuu launched an arrow. The General just missed his target, but Ryuu didn’t, his arrow finding the General’s right shoulder, seriously limiting the General’s ability to bend from his right arm, which he seemed to favor for bending. The General lurched to the side from the arrow’s impact and let out an agonizing roar, he just managed to launch a deadly, lightning-fast ball of fire from his other hand in Ryuu’s direction. Before he could react, the fireball hit Ryuu squarely in the chest. The force of the attack threw him of his feet, and completely burned a large smoldering hole through his sturdy leather armor, leaving a painful burn on his chest. He let out a groan, and only hoped that he bought Xi enough time, to finish the injured General off.

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	"I know!" she replied, "So shut up and listen to me, dammit! I've been doing this for years!" She knew that she technically had no real authority over him, but she hated when people didn't follow her orders in a setting like this. Xi might have had a direct approach and a straightforward method of attack, but she had been in the business long enough to have at least a basic idea of how to strategize. "I will be. I ain't got time to be afraid, so just hush and meet me up there." this was no time for chivalry. this was life and death here. Soon it happened. Lightning was shot. an arrow fired. Xi launched her winds to distort the general, averting his lightning shot and sending it down one of the passages. Ryuu was hit. the general was down for a brief moment. "idiot!" she swore to herself, muttering out loud, a string of around 230 swearwords in rapid succession that could have made a sailor blush. "this is why I tell you to listen to me! I knew what I was doing! idiot! idiot! idiot!" in her anger, however, she was swift in approaching the general head on, and began relentlessly attacking him with such speed and ferocity that he would have little, if any, time to fight and strike back. He was probably fighting back, but Xi was too blinded by her own fury to notice the cuts and bruises that she got, or that her right arm was aching and it hurt to walk. soon, he finally stopped moving. fuming, she stamped her way over to Ryuu to assess the damage, completely ignoring her own numerous injuries.

Ryuu Takeshi	Ryuu pulled a frustrated face. “So have I…” he paused, his secret life as an assassin was not one he wanted to really share with Xi. “This isn’t an army, this is one man!” he thought to himself, he was very accustomed to taking down single targets. The airbenders advantage was speed and maneuverability, if they were in an open area, the General wouldn’t have a prayer. At least, this was Ryuu’s thinking. However, he fell in with Xi’s plan; she had never let him down before. He rolled around in pain, clenching his chest, as he saw Xi attack the General. She was obviously injured, though she completely ignored them. Ryuu managed to pull out a throwing knife and after taking careful aim, managed to hit the General in the leg, helping Xi out. As she finally took the bastard down, Ryuu relaxed and closed his eyes, lying on the floor. “I’m fine!” he said irritably, “what the hell is the matter with you!?” he asked in a loud, angry voice. “You could have gotten yourself killed!”

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	Xilingshi shrugged. she wasn't sure if he had a secret life of leading warriors into battle or not, but that wasn't her concern at the moment. she had much more important things on her mind. She continued her attack until the man stopped moving. she was a diverse woman in terms of her abilities and maneuvers, and had trained herself to be adept in almost any setting. It was common sense, really, to say that fights would not always be in advantageous terrain, so the least she could do is teach herself in the ways of places such as confined hallways, so that she could remove the disadvantage she had. based on the results here, it seemed that that had paid off. the leaders of the ship were now dead, and other than perhaps the crew or a stray soldier here or there, they were alone again. she staggered back, and slowly lowered herself into a kneeling position. She looked pretty grizzly, given that she was covered in blood and looked like she had been lacerated in several unholy ways. however, while plenty of that blood was hers, most of it was the blood of the soldiers and generals she had been forced to kill. she spun her head around when she heard Ryuu's voice. "YOU!" she screeched, "WHY DIDN'T YOU LISTEN TO ME YOU @#$%!" she unleashed a string of about 9 or 10 vulgar adjectives before ending with "IDIOT!" She continued to go on a rant (full of vulgar words) explaining that if he had just listened to her, this wouldn't have happened, and how she could have easily handled it on her own, as she had just done. her face, or what little of it that could be seen from all the blood, (particularly a massive pair of gashes on her right cheek) was turning purple because she wasn't breathing. "AND NOW WE'RE BOTH HERE ON THE VERGE OF DEATH AND WHO'S GONNA COME SAVE US NOW!?!" she finished, her voice so high-pitched that it was almost a screech. she slowed down and caught her breath, still staring daggers at him.

Ryuu Takeshi	An angry and frustrated look suddenly flashed across Ryuu’s face. “WHAT?! I DID! I DID LISTEN TO YOU!” he snapped, “I STAYED DOWN HERE JUST LIKE YOU SAID; AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED…TO BOTH OF US!” He sat up, wincing in pain as he did so. “Look at you Xi! You are badly hurt, you say you could have taken him alone, but he done THAT to you with an arrow lodged in his shoulder joint and knife just above his knee!” He groaned slightly as leaned too far forward, “why do you have to be so damn reckless, we could have taken that guy down easily in an open area, but NOOO!” He paused momentarily, out of breath from the shouting. “And it looks like it’ll have to be me who has to save us! AGAIN!” he remarked with a frustrated voice as he tried standing, leaning against the wall.

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	"NO!" she shrieked, "I told you to take the exit! but NOOOOOOO! you just HAD to try and play the hero, and look where that got you. I didn't need help. it was a nice gesture, but I'd rather you be on your feet and in one piece than lying there burning to death!" "UGH!" she groaned, "why do you have to be so STUPID!?! he had the advantage here, and I don't think he would have taken our bait. what were we going to do? leer him to death? war doesn't work that way, Ry. you can't always lure your enemies into places where it would work to your advantage. Sometimes, there is no running. sometimes there is no retreat. she staggered over to him. her feet seemed okay, and she could stand alright. it was the other injuries that were weighing her down. "stop moving; you're gonna hurt yourself even more. I'll save our sorry asses, because you're clearly not going to get anywhere before this ship sinks..." luckily for them, the ship wasn't actually sinking (to her knowledge anyways), and so unless they had a bad encounter with some of the crew or whatnot, they were not in any rush.

Ryuu Takeshi	Ryuu was furious; Xi was just as stubborn as he was. To him, she was wrong, and to her, he was wrong. He wanted to shout right back at her, telling her that she couldn’t have taken that General on alone, or that the General was so arrogant he would have followed them anywhere. But the words never came out; something else was building inside of him, a strange feeling that mingled with his rage. He gave her an angry stare and started shaking his head, he was about to explode. He suddenly grabbed the collar of her shirt and violently pulled her against him, locking his lips with hers. Time seemed to stop as his lips made contact with hers and he was completely oblivious to everything around them. It wasn’t long, however, before he snapped out of his stupor and quickly pulled away from Xi. He had no idea what came over him and why he just done that. He looked at her with a confused and slightly embarrassed face for a moment, before looking away, avoiding any eye contact.

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	Xilingshi was mumbling things under her breath. she glared wickedly at him, almost daring him to challenge what she had said. Xilingshi was a stubborn and proud creature. Her story had been somewhat of a complex one, and so she was often difficult to figure out, despite her blunt and straightforward attitude to everything. When he kissed her, her eyes went wide, but her left eye quickly closed again, as blood covered it, and almost made it look like she had lost the eye. however, a good wash and it would be seen that her eye was perfectly fine. the way he had grabbed the neck of her shirt though did almost expose some cleavage. when they pulled back and Ryuu turned away, Xili was speechless. she swore as she felt blood drip into her right eye as well, but she blinked most of it away. "Ryuu, I..." she didn't finish.

Ryuu Takeshi	Ryuu didn’t know what do or say after the kiss, and had no idea what was going on or why he did what he just did. He still felt angry, but he also felt embarrassed and exhilarated at the same time. No matter what he was feeling, however, now wasn’t the time for it and he quickly shook it off. He gave her an almost defiant look, noticing the blood dripping into her eye. “Just…just shut it Xi,” he said bluntly, obviously his pride had been a little hurt by all this. He tore off a piece of cloth from his undershirt and wrapped it around her head to stop the bleeding. He then took her arm and slung it over his shoulders, slowly standing up, supporting her as he did. “We need to get moving,” he whispered, still in pain himself, “just lean on me and I’ll see if I can find us a way out.” He said looking around for a way out.

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	She grumbled, and hissed at him for a moment. "you're SUCH an ass..." she mumbled as he wrapped a cloth around her head. her left eye still looked pretty grizzly, and until the blood was cleaned off, there was no telling if she had lost it or not. "don't kill yourself then, Mister Hero..." she quipped sarcastically. "I can walk too, ya know..." and she did as they hobbled around trying to find the exit. Also luckily for him, Xi was light. She had too many other thoughts running through her mind to say much else.

Ryuu Takeshi	Ryuu gave Xi a dirty look as he hobbled around with her, looking for some way off of the ship. “Would you just SHUT UP!” he said angrily, “you are so…INFURIATING!” he shouted with frustration. Suddenly the whole ship rocked and jolted violently, throwing Ryuu and Xi against a nearby wall. Ryuu quickly looked around and checked up on Xi, he knew the Tekina Kaze must have damaged the ship, which meant they didn’t have much time before it sank. “Let’s just focus on getting out of here alive, and THEN we can kill each other ourselves!” he said in a callous tone. He started limping forwards with her again, picking up his pace as he did. As luck would have it, they eventually stumbled upon the life boats, which were mounted against the side of the massive ship. Ryuu grabbed hold of the wheel that operated the chain pulley system. “Xi, get on!” he demanded, ready to lower the small life boat into the water

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	Xilingshi groaned loudly and dramatically. and they said that women were hard to deal with... "If I'm so infuriating, why don't you do yourself a damn favor and leave me the hell here?" before he could answer, she ship rocked, and Xi slammed the back of her head against the wall. it hurt, but no more than the other 159 injuries she already had. one more wouldn't kill her, would it? "FINE." she growled, "let's get the hell out of here so I can punch a few more of your teeth out." she grumbled. as they stumbled onto the deck and towards the lifeboat, Xi almost simply rolled in, and was soon waiting for him to do the same.

Ryuu Takeshi	Ryuu watched as Xi simply rolled into the lifeboat. He instantly began working on getting the boat down into the water, but the pulley mechanism was stuck. He took a deep breath and began pulling on the lever that would lower the boat into the water with all his might, which was a lot, since he was a very strong man. Without warning, a bright flash, which was unmistakably a fireball, whizzed past his face. He quickly looked down the hall and saw a group of Fire Nation Soldiers approaching. “Why now!” he shouted in frustration as he unsheathed his Katana and gave a quick, almost sad glance back at Xi. Before she would be able to react, he sliced through the chain with a lightning-fast movement, causing the lifeboat to hurtle down towards the waters below, with Xi still on board. He wasted no time after he had let Xi down to safety. He firmly gripped his blade and, ignoring his other injuries, dashed down the passage, charging down the firebenders who were obviously also heading for the lifeboats. He used his own special airbending technique to move unnaturally fast as he avoided his enemies’ fireblasts and hacked them down in droves, at a blistering pace and with unmatched precision. However, more and more Firebenders started appearing and he was starting to get overwhelmed in the confined hallway which offered him little room to manoeuvre. But hey, what were a few more burns? If he was going down with the ship, he was going to take every single one of these bastards with him.

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	Xilingshi was neither blind nor deaf, despite a ringing in her ears and currently being unable to see out of her left eye. she knew the sight and sound of a fireball, and she wasn't stupid. Xi was an interesting creature. While she was more than willing to put her own life at risk for her friends, one of the last things she would ever allow would be for someone else to try and do the same for her. Thus, before the boat even hit the water, she launched herself back onto the deck with a skilled and precise airbending movement. she landed less than gracefully, but was on her feet. Luckily for her, her shins and ankles were probably the least damaged parts of her body. in one of her hands was her staff that she had held onto the entire time, as it was a treasure that she could never leave behind. "You didn't think you could get rid of me that easily, did you?" she quipped. The fact that these loonies were trying to kill them instead of trying to escape the sinking ship on their own meant that they did not wish or deserve to live. Also not necessarily one to stay far away, Xi surprised the group by launching herself straight into the fray. a few mot cuts, bruises, or burns weren't going to kill her either. she launched a couple of powerful blasts into the fray, but her combustion attack was much slower than it was normally because Xilingshi's focus was limited because of the pain she was in. However, her sheer willpower managed to keep her focused enough to execute it. Soon they were finishing off the rest of them, while a few of the other soldiers realized that they were not easy targets and began to flee for their own lives. These, Xilingshi would spare. Another reason was because the ship began to list, which made keeping an even footing trickier than it should have been. it was doing so slowly, but by the time the fight had subsided, it was a noticable slant. "Let's blow this joint!" She snapped, racing towards the lifeboat. she launched herself over the deck of the ship, using her airbending to direct herself into the boat. normally she would be fine with jumping right into the water, but saltwater in an open wound would probably kill her from the agony. all those cuts would have shot pain through her entire body. "I'm not going to let you sacrifice yourself for me, Ry, so get your ass in the boat!" she called out.

Ryuu Takeshi	Ryuu was a selfish man. In truth, he wouldn’t risk his life for anyone in the world but Xi. Of course he was surprised when a group of firebenders in front of him suddenly started flying in different directions. He immediately knew that Xi had left the boat and had come to join him. He quickly turned to her. “Xi! You’re hurt! Get back on the boat, I am doing fine!” he demanded, though he quickly realised that he was wasting his breath, and continued fighting. They easily finished the hordes of soldiers off, despite their injuries, and it wasn’t long before the remaining soldiers started fleeing, realising that these two grizzly looking, beaten up airbenders were more than they had bargained for. Xi seemed to want to spare those who decided to run, and made a run for the lifeboat down the now heavily slanted hall. "I'm not going to let you sacrifice yourself for me, Ry, so get your ass in the boat!" she called out. Ryuu however, was pissed off, and now that she was safely off the ship, he flat ignored her. He relentlessly started chasing down the runners and brutally killed them one by one in a fit of rage, blatantly disregarding his own life or his friend’s request to bail out. All he felt was his growing rage and he was letting it out the remaining crew of the ship, who were desperately trying to escape. He was planning on killing every last one of these bastards, and would continue if it meant the death of him.

Xilingshi Nailah Zoraki	"Fuck you!" was her response as she carved her way through the firebenders. First off, she only took orders from her superiors, and second off, she was not one to run until she saw that the battle was over. However, after the attackers had turned into people simply fleeing for their lives, she had left. Now, Xilingshi had known for over 30 years that Ryuu was an idiot, but this pretty much just re-iced the cake for her. She glanced around to observe her surroundings. they were far from the temple itself, which was still in the air above them, though there were small beaches and islands near the bottom of the sheer cliff from which the Air Temple had been carved. Her hazy vision couldn't tell her if they were clear, but at this point, she wanted to try. The last thing she wanted to do was be a sitting duck in a little lifeboat bobbing among the waves, especially when there were firebenders everywhere. The Tekina-Kaze knew their orders, and those that had survived were starting to pull back as they had forced the Fire Navy to retreat. here were a few on each side that were still actively engaged in combat, but they were slowly beginning a retreat just as well. Slowly, Xilingshi stood up in the boat, shakily because of it not being a sturdy surface, and she opened her glider. taking a deep breath, and mostly using power from her legs, which were the least injured parts of her body at the moment, she took off into the skies--away from Ryuu and the sinking ship, and away from the boat. If Ryuu wanted to reach her, she wasn't sure how he'd do it, since his glider had been destroyed, and she hadn't seen any other airbenders on the ship during this "final fight". Deciding to flush him from her already aggravated mind at the moment, she flew towards the temple... However, fate had decided that she was not to make it back. her vision grew hazier, blood from her forehead dripping into her remaining eye. slowly her altitude gain began to diminish, and soon she found herself falling back towards the beach and the ocean. her clouded mind told her that she was falling, and so reflexively, she took a huge breath and blew towards the ground, forming a powerful gust the slowed her fall. when she was only a few meters from the ground, her breath ended, and she landed with a rather unceremonious 'plop!' in the sand, a few feet from the water, and several hundred meters from where the sinking battleship was. She lay there, motionless apart from the rise and fall of her blood-covered chest. slowly, her eye closed as well.

Ryuu Takeshi	As the last one of the fleeing firebenders lay dead at Ryuu’s feet, his raging haze started to subside. He had no idea why he had become so angry and why he had acted like he did. He was known to have a bad temper, but in fights he was usually calm. A part of him realised that seeing Xi again after he essentially abandoned her and the air nomads, and seeing her get so badly hurt because off him, had thrown his thoughts and emotions into a state of turmoil. And on top of it all, there was that kiss. Ryuu quickly shook these thoughts off, not wanting to believe that someone could make him feel so confused and conflicted within himself. The ship was now at a very steep angle and Ryuu struggled to climb up the smooth metal corridors that led up to the deck. After a couple of times slipping right back down to where he had started, he quickly decided another course of action was in order. He started bending bursts of air underneath him, the thin corridor helping him contain and focus his bending as he made his way up towards the exit. It was only a matter of time before he shot out of the ship’s interior and landed safely up on the ship’s main deck. He wasn’t out of danger yet, however. The ship was sinking fast and he had no means of escape, he looked over the side for Xi’s boat, but alas, it was empty. Ryuu cursed, why the hell did she always have to be so stubborn and argue with him about everything! A large jolt interrupted his thoughts however, and he knew it was time to leave. He looked around frantically, knowing he would have to think fast if he were to escape with his life. With only a few seconds to spare, Ryuu grabbed hold of a large Fire Nation flag which was attached to the massive, sinking ship. He quickly pulled it of the rail that held it, placing all four corners of it in his hand before clenching it tightly. His free arm began bending a strong current of air into and in the next instant, he was airborne. He managed to keep altitude as he soared through the air and decided to make straight for the temple, where he had assumed Xi had gone. It was exhausting work and his arm was beginning to get tired, but he had to push on, he had to make it. It was at that moment that his keen, archer eyes, spotted a familiar orange clad figure, lying motionless on the beach a few hundred meters away from him. “XI!?” he yelled out desperately, instantly changing his course, turning towards her and moving as fast as he could. All that was on his mind at that moment was getting to her. Ryuu landed awkwardly a few meters away from her, and immediately scrambled towards her. He slid onto his knees as he got beside her and grabbed her motionless body. “Xi!? XI!?” he shouted, tapping her cheek with his hand, also wiping off what sand and blood he could, “Xi! Talk to me!” he shouted, his voice slightly panicked.
