A chance meeting. (!!!LOKI!!!)

Mako hadn't been to Makapu in a long time. He'd almost forgotten how many different types of people you could meet here. Airbender, Earthbenders, Firebenders, even a few Waterbenders from both tribes. It was always an amazing sight.

He managed not to run into any familiar faces, which he would have liked, but he was soon lost in the crowds. He stopped by a vendor, paying for something, and then a woman appeared, a rather large woman, and pushed him aside, once again, he was caught in a group. This time, a group of girls, all of whom were staring at Mako. They were about his age, about half of them were married, the others drifted closer than he was comfortable with.

He took a step to the edge of the small group, and slipped away into an alley. He could hear the women whispering as he vanished. He walked down to the beach nearby to escape the crowds, only to find that the beach too, was crowded, but with people tanning, swimming, and building sand castles instead of shopping. He smiled, and shook his head, 'Can't catch a break.', he thought.

Loki

Loki was always looking for relaxing distractions. She constantly felt the need to be entertained, but she didn't want to be robbing people of their riches all the time. Then it would become a job. So today, she was taking up the brand new sport of windsurfing. This basically consisted of Loki capturing wind in the sail she used to fly and skating on the turbulent waters. Loki was the only visible person out in the water besides a few children wading in it, and was therefore pretty noticeable from the crowd. Loki had finally gotten past the steep learning curve her new activity seemed to have, and was windsurfing with much finesse. So she decided to up the ante. Loki skated up a particularly large wave and tried to do a backflip off of it. Her natural acrobatics let her do this with ease, and she was pleased with her accomplishment. Better kick it up a notch, she thought. She used her airbending to rocket herself off a decent wave, but she'd underestimated how much air she could get into the sail. She flew into the sky, her sail ripping out of her hands as she did, and Loki began hurtling toward the beach. She didn't yell or scream, Loki was very accustomed to falling, but the crowd below her might have cause to worry. In order to stop her impending doom, Loki blasted the beach with a clap of her hands, the wind she shot out slowed her fall significantly. But the air, well, shot sand in every direction and got gritty dirt all over everything and everyone. Children wailed as they rubbed the sand from their eyes. "Heh, sorry." Loki said, her hand on the back of her head as she smirked a big, mischievousness grin. She saw her sail floating in the air, and used her bending to get it back.

Mood: Having Fun Condition: Fine

Mako stared at the water, the people. Some stared back. He watched with slightly more interest as a woman, likely an airbender, began performing tricks on the water with a sail. He hardly had time to really appreciate it before she was airbourne, dropping to the ground. He saw the blast coming, and, just as the air-wave slammed into the ground, he threw a wall of fire up between him, and the oncoming sand.

He didn't even need to dust himself off, and approached the woman at a lazy pace. "Pretty impressive moves,.", he commented, "But I'd have to give you a 7 outta 10, messy landing.", his tone was joking, and he smiled lightly. "My name is Mako.", he said, offering a hand, "What's your name?"

Loki

Loki had expected a mother or something to come up to Loki and complain about their children being harmed by the sand, but instead a man came up and mocked her crash landing. His name was Mako apparently, and he must be bored to go around introducing himself to random people. "Uhh...name's Loki," she responded. Her face was confused at first but turned into her classic mischievous grin. "What're you doin' at the beach in every day clothes?" she asked. She was also wearing her everyday clothes, but it still stood out in the crowd of swimsuits. Loki tied her sail around her waist as she waited for a response.

Mood: Having Fun Condition: Fine

Mako shrugged, glancing back at the town, "It's nice to meet you." He tried to ignore the grin, he had already seen others with similar one's, usually troublemakers. He smiled, "It's better to be down here in regular clothes rather than be up there getting shoved around by groups of people." He looked at you, "Besides, you're down here in everyday clothes too, maybe I'm just not much of a beach person."

Loki

Loki looked at her own clothes as Mako pointed out that she too was in everyday clothes. "Well, I guess." she said with a shrug. She didn't really have any tie to this man, so she quickly announced, "Well, I'm gonna go back to windsurfing," She started walking to the water, undoing the knot so she could open the sail once more and catch the wind. Maybe Mako would try to join her? She didn't bother inviting him though.

Mood: Having Fun Condition: Fine

Mako nodded, unfortunately at a slight disadvantage. He watched Loki wander back toward the water, and took a seat in the sand. He hadn't ever really had much attraction to air, it always was just there. He watched silently, maybe he'd try it someday when he felt like making a fool of himself.

[Oh yes, because Firebenders are notoriously good at wind surfing. XD]

Loki

Loki noticed that this Mako guy had sat down. Guess he wasn't daring enough to try windsurfing. Then again, she hadn't really explained it or told him that he could join her by holding onto the other half of the sail. No matter, this was her time to have fun, not his. Loki opened the sail and made the wind carry her on the waves. She shot off of one of them and did a quick spin and then landed back on the wave. Her balance was easier to keep now. Her balance was easy to keep...unless a giant fish was trying to eat her! Jumping out of the wave, what looked like a giant mouth put itself around Loki. From the shore, Mako would able to see a giant catfish with billowing whiskers, and what seemed to be two legs sticking out of it's mouth. Loki's screams were too muffled to be heard from inside the beast.

Mood: Aaaaaaahh! Condition: Fine

Mako glanced watch Loki with interest, and was somewhat surprised when a giant catfish decided to eat her. He stood slowly, and then broke into a run. He got to the edge of the water, and propelled himself toward the fish with two massive jets of flame. He was smiling, it had been quite a long time since he'd even seen a fish this size. Mostly, he'd only read about them.
