Zhin Lyautey	Akiyo's recent promotion to Tribal Chief had suddenly made him very busy. Zhin and Chiyo were able to cope with the changes of schedule fairly well, although perhaps because of a large case that was going on at the moment, he wasn't able to afford much time with them, much to his regret. Both girls understood it and that his duty to the Water Tribe was important, but at the same time, it meant he was gone a lot. it was around this time that Zhin made the suggestion of taking herself and Chiyo and heading up to the Earth Kingdom for a few days--just for a little vacation away from the grind. It would be different, as it would be one of the first real times that Chiyo was away from Akiyo and alone with Zhin. Zhin did not even need to promise Akiyo that Chiyo was in good hands--that went unsaid (although she promised him such anyways). Hopefully things would go as Zhin planned them. Chiyo had become slightly more of an uptight perfectionist after Akiyo's promotion, which Zhin understood, given her position now as Chief's Daughter. However, one of Zhin's secret goals on this trip was to teach Chiyo how to unwind a bit and have fun. Zhin was living proof that this was possible, for she remained very professional and courteous in public; while in private she was often playful and silly, and often without pants. After their waves and kisses goodbye, it was a long boat ride up to the northern earth kingdom, but they managed to make it up there with little real event apart from the normal seafaring matters. It was late in the evening by the time they got there (after several days of sailing of course) and so as they faced the titanic Earth Kingdom Capital, Zhin's first order of business was to find them a room. Chiyo looked alright from the sailing; Zhin would expect that from hardy stock like her. the sky was black from the evening; the lights of the city drowning out most of the stars. "It is certainly very different from the Southern Water Tribe... I like it. it reminds me of home almost, except with more rocks and greens than reds and flames. I wonder how Chiyo will handle it. Either way... I promised dear Akiyo that his little girl was safe in my hands, and I intend to keep that promise quite well." Zhin and Chiyo small-talked their way to an inn, where Zhin got them a room for the night. Unless they were going out for a midnight rampage across the town, there wasn't much else for them to do this late at night. as they checked into their room and started to unwind for the night, Zhin turned to Chiyo with a smile. "so..." she chuckled, "how do you like it, now that we are actually here?" It had been a lot of travelling, but they wouldn't have to do that again for a while. Zhin was just in her usual clothes, jacket and all. She ran her fingers through her hair, shaking some out of her face. Zhin did seem more laid back when she was alone, mostly because here, she didn't have anyone she needed to impress. there was no reputation at stake; no people to appear in front of; nothing. It was just her and Chiyo, and both of them knew each other well enough that that wouldn't be an issue, Zhin thought.

Chiyo Tenshi	Chiyo would admit that while tired from the journey, it had been very new and fun. Being out on the waters wasn't really anything new to her; she'd grown up around waves and ice her whole life, so she really didn't have any trouble with her sister element. Her father did joke that because she was an earthbender, she was better suited for the harshness of the 'Tribes than even he was. It made her roll her eyes, but it was probably true. Earthbenders were toughies. That didn't mean Chiyo wanted to be alone in this vast and beautiful city though; she was suddenly craving the familiarity of home, because while extremely excited to be here, the noise of the city's night life and lack of the sound of the ocean were making her feel very out of place. As they entered the inn, Chiyo gratefully plunked down on one of the two beds, burying her face in a pillow for a moment before looking up to converse with Ms. Zhin-Zhin. "so...how do you like it, now that we are actually here?" Zhin asked. Chiyo smiled, taking a moment to think. "It's definitely a change of pace. I really do love the new sights and experiences; at the same time, I miss the cold!" she laughed, before pausing. "It's definitely way more safe back at home, too," she yawned widely as she spoke.

Zhin Lyautey	Zhin was an observant fellow by default, and so throughout the whole journey she kept an eye on Chiyo. It was not to the point of being intrusive; but she did watch the younger girl's emotions and attitudes to see how she was handling the changes. on the seas, this was not a very big change; but once they landed, she could tell that Chiyo felt a little bit out of place. It was late tonight, and so she was quite fine with retreating the two of them inside for the evening, where the quiet confines of their room would shut out most of the noise. adjusting to a new place, even temporarily, was always difficult the first time. As they entered the room and Zhin closed the door behind them, she chuckled as Chiyo flopped unceremoniously onto one of the beds. she was still staring at the back of Chiyo's head when the younger girl finally looked up. "you miss the cold?" Zhin chuckled playfully, "I almost thought you'd be grateful to shed some layers." Zhin was contemplating doing just that actually, starting with her pants. She remained fully dressed for the time being though, instead sitting next to Chiyo on the side of the bed. "the Tribe was certainly safer. Although... almost anywhere is safer than here... except the Lower Ring." Zhin had actually liked the safeness of the water tribes, and was even okay with the cold. that inner firebender in her kept her body warm, even if she was not a bender of the element. Zhin stretched as well, almost ready for bed herself. "well... the good news is, is that for the next few days, it's just you and me and whatever we feel like doing." she smiled, "so when we go to sleep, you better start thinking of things you want to do." she chuckled. This was not by any means an attempt to simply try to please Chiyo and gain favor for her. No, this was genuine interest in Chiyo's likes and dislikes, in an amiable attempt to have some girl-time together. "I'm sure we'll have a great time. Ba Sing Se is certainly large enough for us to be able to most likely find easily what we are searching for, whatever it may be. Besides... Chiyo deserves a bit of fun on the town where she can just be a lady. The more we speak, the more I realize that we both are very, very female... I quite like it." Zhin yawned, sitting over on her bed and gently kicking off her shoes; wiggling her sock covered feet, before she undid and removed her pants. This was mostly just a force of habit rather than something with an end goal. Any reaction Chiyo might have made though could snap her out of it.

Chiyo Tenshi	"Well, the cold is more... comforting. Homely. Y'know?" Chiyo said with a small smile. Chiyo laughed when Zhin did, already thinking about the adventures she wanted to have in Ba Sing Se. She sat up, getting pajamas out of her pack before noting Zhin removing her pants. "Where are your pajamas?" she asked as she changed into shorts and a tank top.

[OOC--I am honestly surprised that I was able to get so much from a small post. ^.^]

Zhin Lyautey	"it certainly makes you feel more cozy and comfortable when you're indoors, yes?" Zhin smiled, definitely agreeing with the statement herself. The nice cozy warmth of a house always felt good in comparison to the raging storms of the south pole during a blizzard. Even when it was calm outside, the frigid temperatures made Zhin feel quite at home when she was indoors. When she was with Akiyo and Chiyo... she felt even happier and cozier. Zhin's mind was deep in thought as to what she'd do here with Chiyo, other than getting the younger girl's input. "her input is important for obvious reasons." I didn't bring her all this way solely for my enjoyment. I'm going to allow her to enjoy... well... being a girl. It's quite a lovely thing, really. I certainly very much enjoy it. All ladies should do it at least once, anyways." And thus were her thoughts on the matter. as she removed her pants, Chiyo popped the question. Zhin slid off her jacket, staying in her undershirt, socks, and underwear. "Oh... I usually sleep like this," she confessed, "I can cover up if it bothers you?" Zhin may have had lacy underpants, but she was not at all trying to be suggestive; that was just how she normally slept. Sometimes when she was home alone, she'd go the whole day without wearing any pants. She was fine with adjusting that habit though, especially if it made Chiyo uncomfortable. After all, they'd obviously be rooming together for these next several days, so it'd be important to ensure that Zhin didn't make Chiyo feel awkward. Until then though, she was keeping her legs bare. She had sort of watched Chiyo change, although that was mostly just because she had been paying attention to her before she had started undressing. Besides, she wasn't staring. Obviously the only sort of relationship Zhin had with the youngster was that of a motherly one. Well, that and best friends. Zhin also secretly hoped to teach Chiyo a bit about unwinding and being silly. She would talk about it to her tomorrow, but Zhin had noticed that she always seemed a bit tense or uptight. She hid it well by keeping a positive and upbeat attitude, and Zhin had to admire that sort of self control. Still... from what she knew of Akiyo and Chiyo, she had deduced that the latter had not been given much time to be "young". Zhin wanted to help change that. "every girl deserves that privilege... the privilege to be young... to be a girl; to be a child. these are such delicate years of her life. Akiyo has raised her well... but just as there are things about men that women surely don't understand, there are things about women that men do not understand either. Hopefully, I can help her learn and embrace a few of these while we're here... I feel that she'd love it." She yawned and stretched again, giving Chiyo a friendly smile, hoping (and assuming) that the younger girl would be honest with her. Zhin frankly saw no reason why Chiyo wouldn't be, after all.
