Kei	It was late at night in the lower rings Ba Sing Se and a light fog blanketed the city. Due to how late it was, the streets were mostly void of people. Most of the city was asleep at this time. Everything was quiet and at peace. Despite its current tranquility, Kei absolutely hated the lower rings of Ba Sing Se. The poverty here was a huge problem and caused this portion of the city to be unorganized and dirty. The smell in the air was foul and many homeless lived out on the streets. It was the ghetto of Ba Sing Se. Kei heavily disliked poverty and would like to get rid of it, but it was outside of his current power to do so. Poverty was not the reason for Kei’s presence in the Lower Rings of Ba Sing Se. Instead, he was after the bounty on the head of the Super Criminal known as “Daikon” who was wanted for various capital crimes. There was little information on Daikon which made finding him quite troublesome. Kei was patrolling the Lower Ring of the city by rooftop, hoping that he would come across some trouble makers that would be linked to Daikon in some way… Suddenly, Kei heard fighting off in the distance. He quickly made his way in the direction of the fighting leaping from roof top to roof top. Within a minute, Kei had arrived at the scene of the fighting. It was a large alleyway that was behind some buildings. Looking down from the roof top, Kei saw four individuals. Three of them appeared to be knocked out and on the ground. The fourth one was standing and appeared to be in perfect health. The fourth person had noticed Kei and turned to face him. Kei saw that this person wore a mask. The red mask depicted the face of the spirit Noh. Kei recognized the mask and knew what it was. It was the mask that had become legendary throughout the Earth Kingdom. It was the mask of the vigilante known as “Crimson Spirit.”

Noriko Tatsumi	Despite how it may have appeared, particularly at that distance, the Crimson Spirit was only still in the alley because she - for it was a woman behind the mask - was exhausted. These thugs had not gone down easy, despite the heavy injuries they accrued. Each time she broke a bone, they didn't even seem to notice; some new experimental drug must be working its way through the underground circuit... great. Fighting addicts was bad enough, because, in their own way, they were victims as well, but fighting super powered addicts who couldn't feel pain? Yeah; not something one would typically have to deal with. Noriko wasn't sure exactly why she turned around (instinct, she supposed), but her feeling was spot on; there was a man on the rooftop, watching her. He wasn't part of the city defense force, clearly, but regardless, it was probably time to go... just as soon as she caught her breath. Thankfully, the many layers of clothing that she wore when on patrol only added to her disguise; he wouldn't be able to tell that the Crimson Spirit was really a woman. Should he start trouble, however... he would learn that she was a firebender, as well as a very lethal fighter.

Kei	Kei wasn't sure what the Crimson Spirit was planning to do but Kei got the feeling that it wouldn't be a proper introduction. Kei also realized that he should probably say somthing before the Crimson Spirit runs or attacks him, after all, he probably looked like some underwear theif running across rooftops in the middle of the night. Raising the palms of his hands to show he wasn't carrying a weapon Kei called out, "Wait a moment please, don't attack me or run. I am neither the police or a criminal, I'm simply a Jack Of All Trades and I only want to talk."

Noriko Tatsumi	Though he wouldn't see it, Noriko's eyes narrowed behind her mask. She wasn't stupid, but who was he to tell her not to run? The Crimson Spirit didn't exactly stop for tea, crumpets and a chat after each criminal beat-down. Noriko was finally starting to catch her breath, as well, though her muscles still screamed with fatigue. She wasn't sure how well she could run; hopefully farther and faster than this guy (or the authorities, should they show up). So, feeling irked, the Crimson Spirit turned and ran, despite the request that she not. Flitting through the alleyways, Noriko didn't bother looking back, to see if the man was following her - she just assumed that he was. If he wanted to talk so badly then she figured he would, but either way, she had bigger problems just now. The ruckus that the drug addicts had caused was attracting city defense forces now, and she was getting real tired, real fast... Turning into a small alley behind a hotel - a rather sleazy one, truth be told - Noriko removed her mask and began to strip out of her Crimson Spirit costume. Underneath she wore a pair of very short black exercise shorts and a green tank top that showed quite a bit of cleavage. Stuffing the other clothes and her shoes into her bag, Noriko undid her hair, letting the soft black locks flow down her back, obscuring her identity even further. Her pack was then stuffed underneath the dumpster, out of site - that should be enough to get any authorities off her back. However, even as she turned to see if the coast was clear, it became apparent that it was not. That man had followed her quite well - a lot better than she'd thought, anyway. Noriko was silent for a moment, waiting to see if he'd reveal how much he'd seen... or if he'd move on, mistaking her for a floozy.

Kei	Of course, the Crimson Spirit took off and started running. Kei did his best to keep up with the Vigilante, swerving through alleyways and dodging obstacles.When it came to running or chasing people, Kei was great at it, so he was honestly surprised when he wasn't able to catch the Crimson Spirit so soon. Kei followed the Crimson Spirit behind an alleyway behind a hotel. When he got there, he saw that the Crimson Spirit had disappeared, as if it were really a spirit. There was a woman behind the building and Kei decided he would ask her where the Crimson Spirit went. Kei approached the woman and stood in front of her. Admittedly, he did think it was a bit weird for this woman to be back here, but it didn't cross his mind that this was the Crimson Spirit. He just assumed it was some drunkard. "Hey," Kei began, "I don't intend to do anything weird, I just have a question." Kei held his hand flat at about shoulder level, "Have you seen a person about this tall with a mask run by here? And if so, where did they go?"

Kei	The woman said she hadn't seen anybody run by. Kei didn't believe her, there was no way anybody could miss somebody running past unless they were extremely drunk or something. The woman didn't look, sound, or smell drunk. With her current apparel which didn't make sense, was it possible this was the true identity of the Crimson Spirit? Probably not. She was a girl, there was no way the Crimson Spirit was a girl. This girl was probably covering for the Crimson Spirit. Kei would find out, but he knew he couldn't just come out and plainly ask. That would get him no where. *Well,* Kei decided, *There is only one way to tell if she is just some normal civilian out on the streets or not.* "That's too bad that you haven't seen anyone pass by." Kei replied than immediately following with a punch aimed at the woman's forehead.

Noriko Tatsumi	Noriko had gotten the feeling that this man was up to something, just before he spoke and pulled his arm back. He was going for a punch - interesting. Why? If he was expecting a weak woman, or a drunk one, he was about to get the surprise of his life. Even as she was wondering what his game was, Noriko's military training kicked in and she dropped to the ground to avoid the attack. That alone might throw the man's game off; being dodged so easily by such a small, defenseless looking woman. Using her arms for stability, her hands pressed into the ground and she kicked out, trying for a leg-sweep.

Kei	The Leg-sweep completely caught Kei off guard and took his legs out under him, causing him to fall. *Yup,* Kei thought to himself before he hit the ground, Looks like this wasn't some normal civilian after all. Kei hit the ground with an 'oof' and was lying there. The woman appeared as though she was about to proceed with another attack on him. *Well shit.* Kei thought, he didn't mean to start a fight. He hoped he could get out of if just as easily as he started it. "Wait-wait-wait-wait-wait" Kei quickly stammered as he was lying on the ground before the woman attacked him again. He held his palms open to show he meant no harm. Kei laughed nervously, "I made a mistake back there and I apologize. I only wanted to know the truth. I realize now that I probably didn't use the best method." Despite being on his back on the ground, Kei gave a confident smile. "It may have not been the best approach, but I know the truth now. Where is the Crimson Spirit?"

Noriko Tatsumi	Standing up from her crouch - and now looming over the prone figure of the man she'd floored, despite technically being shorter - Noriko narrowed her eyes slightly. Knew the truth? He did not. Otherwise he wouldn't be asking where the Crimson Spirit was. "Don't be stupid," She chastised him without answering, placing her hands on her hips. Noriko would rather chase him off, so that she could reclaim her bag, but since she knew where it was, she could always come back later that day. Before she could tell him to get lost, however, there was a sound at the head of the alley; the city defense forces had started to comb the area. Wonderful. While they likely wouldn't hound her, being that she looked incapable of holding her own in a fight, this guy was suspicious enough that they might decide to search the alley... and find her bag. "Shit," She cursed. Reaching down, she grabbed the stranger by his leather jacket and bodily dragged him up off the ground to slam him against the wall - it was harder than it looked, with her body so fatigued from the previous fight. Rather than punching him again (which is what he might have thought she was up to), Noriko pushed her body in close and kissed him - it wasn't particularly passionate, but this ploy was one of the best that she had, for avoiding damning situations with the authorities or drug dealers that she couldn't handle at the moment. Now, providing that the man didn't do anything stupid, the defense forces should pass them by, assuming them to be lovers in a back alley about to get a bit... frisky. Or, in the worst case, tell them to vacate such a public area and take it somewhere else.

Kei	Apparantly, Kei's tactic to end the fight worked a little TOO well. The woman had pulled Kei up, shoved him against the wall, and much to his surprise, began kissing him. The kiss completely took Kei by surprise. There were a couple of city defense soldiers patrolling around and they began entering the alleyway Kei and the woman were in. Kei wasn't too worried about the soldiers seeing him as there was no way they would recognize him as once being the supposedly dead elite assassin once known as "Death's Hand". Kei overcame the surprise and put both of his hands on the woman's shoulders and pushed her body away from his. Kei spoke extremely embarrassed and caught off guard. "H-h-hold up a second, I'm not mentally prepared to start something like this!" Admittedly, the woman was very beautiful, but Kei was terrible with situations like these.

Noriko Tatsumi	And then the stranger did something stupid (and very attention-drawing). "Shut up," Noriko snapped at him quietly, shoving his pushing hands away, "I don't want them snooping around back here - get them to leave, and I'll tell you about the Crimson Spirit, alright?" Her promise was ambiguous enough, she hoped, that he would accept, but that she wouldn't have to tell him too much, depending on why he wanted to know. The kissing, of course, meant nothing to Noriko; she had used similar tactics to throw off suspicions, in the past. All the guards would see - she hoped - was a scantily clad woman trying to solicit a man who looked to belong in a setting like this, rather than two individuals who needed to be seized and searched. Generally, guardsmen saw what they expected to see, after all, so the ruse didn't have to be perfect, or even hold too much water.

Kei	Kei watched the woman, but he couldn't tell if she was lying or not about revealing the truth if he got rid of the guards Well, Kei thought, its not like it would hurt to try. Kei grabbed the MULDMAL which was hanging around his right thigh and held it out of sight from the guards. Kei had the Flash-Bang loaded as the current shot, so he wasn't too worried about what he was going to do next. Kei pointed the MULDMAL up in the sky a bit angled and pulled the trigger. There was a "clunk" noise as the Flash-Bang was fired out, but the guards probably thought the clunk noise was the sound of something being dropped as they paid little attention to it. A few seconds later, there was a sudden burst of bright light that erupted somewhere behind the guards off in the city followed by a very loud "Ping!" noise. This no doubt caught the guards attention and they hurried to the spot of where the Flash-Bang had landed. Kei holstered the MULDMAL back on his thigh and looked back at the woman. He spoke in a more serious tone then from before. "Now time for you to keep your end of the bargain."

Noriko Tatsumi	"Fine," was her simple response as she turned, fishing her bag out from under the dumpster and throwing it over her shoulder without a thought, "Follow me." Noriko was sick of standing in that alley - she wanted to be back in her apartment - tiny though it was - so that she could get some herbal ointment on her legs and arms, before her muscles began to cramp. "Follow me," She spoke over her shoulder without looking back, gesturing at the same time for the man to follow. That gun, or launcher, or whatever it was... it was definitely worth asking about, as well; Noriko already knew that she'd like to get her own hands on one, if possible. Her little flat was definitely nothing to boast about, being on the second floor of a green grocer and all. She lead the man following her up the stairs and then inside, locking the door behind them out of sheer habit. "You can sit anywhere," She mentioned, though the only options were the bed in the corner, a single chair, or the floor, "I'll be with you in a moment." Only a minute later, Noriko perched on the edge of her bed, applying the rather nice smelling ointment to her body, regarding the man with a raised brow. "Why do you want to know about the Crimson Spirit?" She asked, first, but then assured him, "I'll keep my promise, but I want to know." Should the man be a foe, she'd give him the bare bones and send him on his way. Should he be a friend... well, perhaps she'd consider telling him most of the story.

Kei	Kei followed the woman back to her apartment. He didn't know what was in the bag she grabbed from behind the dumpster, but he had a feeling it was important. Kei followed the woman back to what he assumed was her apartment. The apartment was located above a grocery store (Kei decided he was going to check it later if there were any decent prices on vegetables or fruits). Kei took a seat in the woman's single chair in her not so grand room. Though Kei wasn't really one to talk, his apartment was not so impressive either. Kei wasn't sure why the woman brought him up here for some information, all Kei had wanted to know was where the Crimson Spirit was at. The woman asked Kei why he wanted to know about the Crimson Spirit. Kei replied in a hushed voice, almost as if he were worried somebody might be eavesdropping. "I've been trying to get a lead on the Super Criminal who goes by the name of Daikon. Information on him is very scarce making it impossible to find the criminal. I've been patrolling the town all through the night, searching for people who may have information regarding Daikon. The only person who I ran into who may have known something was the Crimson Spirit. Of course, the Vigilante took off when I tried to speak to him. I lost his trail and came upon you. You seemed to be hiding something concerning the Crimson Spirit, so that's why I asked you. It seems I was right in that regard."

Noriko Tatsumi	Noriko gave a soft snort, still working on rubbing the herbs into her skin to assist her relaxing muscles. Of course; this man thought that the Crimson Spirit was another man. Though, that was why she wore her costume with so many layers of clothing, so Noriko supposed that she should be happy, rather than annoyed. The mention of Daikon, however... that was worth noting. She didn't know much about the criminal, herself - except that he was more a madman than a drug lord. Why would the Crimson Spirit know about someone like that? Obviously the masked vigilante wouldn't be an accomplice. "The Crimson Spirit doesn't care to talk when," she gave an almost imperceptible pause, " - he has his mask on... Spoils the point of hiding one's identity when you let someone hear something as distinguishable as your voice, right?" At this point, the man would probably think that she was the Crimson Spirit's lover, or something, but that was fine. On that note, however, she added, with a bit of a furtive look at the stranger sitting in her home, "If... you aren't going to cause trouble for him, I could give the Crimson Spirit a message for you." That pretty much synched the 'lovers' bit, she figured, but again, Noriko didn't so much care - she still didn't trust this man enough to tell the whole truth of the matter.

Kei	Kei spoke, "I suppose it won't be too much to set up a meeting between me and the Crimson Spirit? I would like to talk to him directly. I don't see why he would keep information regarding a criminal away from me, after all, I could potentially be removing a serious danger from the city." Kei also said with a smile, "Plus, I think it would be pretty cool to meet the legend himself in person."

Noriko Tatsumi	Once again, Noriko chose to take the man's certainty that the Crimson spirit was also a man as a sign that she was a good actress and fighter (however untrue the actress bit might actually be). Now finished with the ointment, and feeling much better, she nodded in reply, dragging her fingers through her long, mussed up hair. "I'll pass the message along," she promised, "There's a restaurant in the Southern part of town with a green chimney... head there after the sun sets. Sound okay?" Noriko didn't even know the name of the restaurant, but she knew that it was a restaurant, because the green chimney always smelled like barely seasoned meat. This guy make take it was a bit of a test, to make sure he was worthy, or something. Speaking of which... "By the way," Noriko asked, rising from the bed and heading for the door, in order to let him out, "What's your name? Or, what should I tell him to call you?"

Kei	Kei replied, "Soungs good, I will be there." "My name," Kei said walking out the door, "is Kei." The following day, Kei sought out the building the woman told him to find. A Restaurant with a green chimney in the south part of town. It wasn't the greatest directions of all time, but Kei wasn't too worried, a green chimney would stand in a city... right? Unfortunately, that wasn't the case and it took Kei nearly an hour longer than he had expected to find the restaurant. This annoyed him a bit. Kei wasn't late however as the sun had just set as he entered the restaurant. Kei knew that the Crimson Spirit probably wouldn't wear his mask in the restaurant, so Kei simply ordered a table and waited for the Crimson Spirit to come to him as he didn't know what the Crimson Spirit looked like.

Noriko Tatsumi	After Kei was seated, he might notice that the restaurant was fairly empty; there were no other patrons, and only the one waiter that had gotten him seated with a glass of water. After a few moments, however, the waiter slipped through the kitchen door, leaving the entire dining room area deserted. The next person to walk through the kitchen doors was, in fact, the Crimson Spirit - fully clad in the gear and the mask. Approaching Kei from behind, the masked vigilante placed a full platter directly in the center of the wooden tabletop before slipping into the opposite chair, entirely silent, save for a nod of greeting. Noriko hadn't really been sure of what to do, when he'd first asked for a meeting, but the owner of this restaurant was extremely easy to bribe. For almost no money at all, the restaurant would be empty for one hour; plenty of time for an initial meeting, at least. She only hoped that Kei wouldn't recognize her voice when she spoke - if he did, she'd have to slip off the mask and reveal herself (though that might be interesting enough as it was).

Kei	Kei saw the Crimoson Spirit enter the empty dining hall and he sat across from Kei. Kei picked up a couple of chopsticks and began eating noodles some kind that had been on the platter. The Crimson Spirit obviously didn't join in on the meal as doing so would mean removing his mask. After about a minute of eating, Kei spoke, skipping introductions as they already knew who they each were. "You may remember me as the one who was chasing you last night, but I assure, that was not because I was an enemy wanting you dead." Kei took a another mouthful of noodles and ate them before continuing to talk. "All I want is information, information regarding Daikon. I know that a master criminal such as him would have caught your eye and I felt that you may have done some research into him. There is a big bounty on his head and I intend to get it." Once again, Kei stopped talking for another mouthful of noodles. "I see no problem why you wouldn't share any information, if I deal with him, you could consider it one less thing you need to deal with.

Noriko Tatsumi	The Crimson Spirit nodded once as Kei spoke, perhaps only to show the man that he had her attention. Of course it was Noriko behind the mask - who else would it be? - but she still hadn't come to a decision about revealing herself or not. She already knew why Kei had sought out the Crimson Spirit, as well, since he had told her earlier that day. Daikon. Before today, she had known only that he was insane. After Kei's request, she had looked into the mad man criminal, using every contact she was able to find on such short notice. The results... were not pretty. Daikon (likely an assumed name) had recently kidnapped and murdered at least ten children over in Gaoling, just so that he could send a message to the guard captain there. It was said that he had dozens of agents, each one brainwashed to follow his every order and whim. He was also a chi-blocker of unrivaled skill, they said, able to take a person's bending away with a single touch. There were other disturbing whispers concerning what his face really looked like, but Noriko had heard plenty of those about her own Masked Persona, so she didn't pay them much heed. Keeping her voice low - though not trying anything stupid like deepening her voice to sound like a 'macho man' - Noriko answered, "I have no problem telling you what I know, but you'll forgive me if I doubt your ability; I'd never heard of you before today. Giving you information may only make my city a target for Daikon, if you're caught and tortured."

Kei	"I'm... new to the area. So many people haven't heard of me yet." Kei simply said. He was not going to reveal that he was once the assassin known as "Death's Hand." He was sure the Crimson Spirit wouldn't approve of such thing. Kei continued, "I realize you want to keep Daikon out of your city, but the only way to permanently ensure this is through his defeat. Whether he does or doesn't find out that the Crimson Spirit gave up information regarding him, Daikon will eventually come here." Kei smiled, "I know this because it is clear to me what kind of man Daikon is based on his actions and rumors. Daikon is someone who likes to show off and create a spectacle for all to 'enjoy'. Daikon won't forever keep his 'show' limited for the people in Gaoling. He will eventually spread, seeking out a larger audience to 'entertain'."

Sad as that was, it was the truth. The Crimson Spirit was only one person, and one person could easily find themselves spread too thin trying to right every wrong. Before anything else could be said, however, there was a ruckus in the kitchen, and suddenly the entire staff emerged, babbling quickly. It seemed that the city defense forces were on their way. Rising quickly, the masked vigilante muttered, "We should leave." Before turning to leave, however, a folded slip of paper was held out in Kei's direction, "This is everything I know about Daikon... rumors or otherwise. It's yours." As soon as the paper was taken, the Crimson Spirit would disappear out the front door, down the alleyway and to the rooftops, heading away at top speed.

Kei	Kei left the building shortly after the Crimson Spirit left, taking with him a couple of biscuit rolls from the restaurant. The paper the Crimson Spirit had given Kei didn't have too much on Daikon and Kei sighed. It seemed that he would have to continue his search for information on Daikon. Kei didn't want to spend another night patrolling, so he decided that he would rest that night. Kei reached inside his coat to grab his coin purse, but he saw that he had no money. Crap Kei thought to himself. He didn't want to spend the night out on the streets and he didn't know anyone who lived in this area. Everyone except the woman who had set up his meeting with the Crimson Spirit. Upon arriving at the front door of her apartment Kei walked straight in forgetting to knock.
