Personality:
Tatsuo is what you can call a normal teenager. He likes to have fun, and he's open to making new friends. His outgoing personality sometimes causes him to be reckless and do things which sends him into situations he -- or someone else-- has to get him out of. He's also very optimistic about things, even when things get dire. If he ever saddens, then you'll know that something has really struck him down to the blues. He is passionate about his bending and does is mostly all the time in some way because he finds it interesting. Sometimes, he rushes into situations without thinking, which can either be followed by a good or bad consequence. If you're a close friend or family to him, he'll be fiercely loyal to you with no questions asked, just don't break his trust. His optimism also dulls his ability to say no to people, which leads to him getting taken advantage of sometimes.

Abilities:
Tatsuo is very skilled in his bending, and is able to icebend as well. He is unable to convert the water into ice, but only manipulate them in their current physical state. His bending also helps his dexterity, which allows him to move water quicker and hit harder with it. He only controls water using hand movements. He is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat, able to defend himself. He isn't an expert in it yet, so he has flaws in his movements, which if able to be detected, would lead to his ultimate defeat in battles. He is able to move quickly whilst attacking in hand-to-hand combat -- though he leaves himself open when he does because he doesn't think much about his guards, and only about attacking and winning. At times, he merges his bending in with his hand-to-hand combat, like coating his fists with water or ice, or even sending water forward to his opponent when he lunges for a jab.

Tatsuo has milky white skin with little acne. He has blue irises, which compliment his medium brown dreadlocks. His dreadlocks is normally tied in a short ponytail, though some of them are left liberated. [See image in character box.] He has a slightly muscular body from his training in combat, but not extremely strong or anything. It is possible to see the lining of his muscles on his arm, and there is a slight forming of abs on his stomach. His skin becomes lighter when exposed to sunlight, and is naturally smooth. He normally wears a light blue shirt with short sleeves that are a white-ish color. It also hangs over his pants. He wears blue pants that are slightly saggy, also being tucked into light brown boots. Around his neck is a necklace with some kind of seashell at the end of it, which rests against his chest most of the time, except for when he's moving excessively.

History:
Tatsuo's life had started without a mother -- she went into cardiac arrest a few minutes after he'd came out of her. The healers of the Northern Water Tribe desperately tried to save her, but she soon succumbed to her death. His father was devastated with the news of his wife not making it, though he didn't have time to grieve because he'd a son who needed to be taken care of. He would have to be both the mother and father to this baby; it was crucial for the baby's future. The first few years of his life were difficult due to the lack of motherly knowledge his father had. He was pitied by citizens of the Tribe, which he didn't understand at the time. As he grew to be a child, he felt a strong connection to water. His father was a non-bender, but one of the things he was told about his mother was that she was a bender.

His father didn't speak about his mother that much, so Tatsuo always got his information from some of her closest friends around the Tribe. He practiced his bending whenever he was around water; it started with trying to move the water. He needed to learn to move it before he could do anything. It took a few days of focus, frustration, and attempts before he was finally able to move the water at a steady pace. Throughout his childhood, he was exploring the Tribe and its way, as well as continuing to practice his bending. His father figured that he needed to teach his child to defend himself, which led to lesson in hand-to-hand-combat up until his pre-teen years. His father died from illness during those years. Left parentless, Tatsuo had no idea what to do with himself. He felt incomplete, like a fragment. And the pieces that would complete him were gone.

Tatsuo drifted through his early teenager years, not really doing much of anything except for eating and sleeping. He was pitied by the Tribe, and always reminded of that each time he would exit his home. He got over his grief eventually when he reached his current age. The depression no longer gripped him, and he was able to act like himself in a long time. The Northern Water Tribe held many memories for him, some good, and some bad. His father used to wear a seashell necklace; Tatsuo always saw him wearing it when he was alive. But now it was passed down to him, and he believed that as long as he wore it, his father's spirit would always be with him.

Rain fell from the sky; thunderclaps boomed, which never failed to scare some of the children of the Northern Water Tribe. The sky was gray, filled with clouds connected to create a wall, which hid the sun behind it. Tatsuo was in his home with his father, who was asleep in his bedroom. His son, on the other hand, made himself some tea and had been taking careful sips, just so he wouldn't burn his tongue too bad. He glanced out the window of his home, his left eyebrow ascending at just how hard it'd been pouring out. But then he'd an idea -- how about he practice his bending out in the rain? It was certainly a new experience; the rain was coming down fast, so would his reflexes be good enough to catch the drops before they met their demise on the ground? Tatsuo finished his tea in a matter of minutes, though he scorched his tongue in his haste to drain the cup of its contents. The male dressed himself in a large blue jacket, where fur decorated the edges of the hood. The rest of the jacket was blue. He headed outside without his hood on, enjoying the feeling of the cold raindrops pattering on his skin, slithering down his face until they dripped from his chin. He raised his hand and moved it to the left, surprised to see some of the raindrops divert their path and follow his hand, which resulted in the other raindrops landing on the ones whose path intersected theirs. The sight caused a laugh to escape him as he tried it again, his eyes lighting up in excitement. He did it a few times before raising both hands and moving them in a circular motion. The raindrops followed his movements, soon connecting in a mid-air moving wheel of water. His hands were sent down, causing the water to slam onto the ground, a little too hard. He winced, though this experience gave him new information: when it was raining, it was better for him to defend himself. He soon headed back inside, running a hand through his wet hair. It was a bit chilly now that the air had reached the wet skin on his face. Tatsuo took off his jacket, hung it up, and resumed his position with watching the rain from the window.
