Archer, Avatar, Bender, and Blocker

Kano had been smiling to himself since they had left the docks. He likes this Fire Nation warrior. She was as fiery as he had expected the women of the Fire Nation to be, and then some. Up the mountain path they went, getting an every more spectacular view of the city below them and the bay beyond. It was a beautiful place, even though it was on the side of a volcano. Half way up, they met with a bit of a snag.

Of course, the moment these thugs barred their path, they were kind of doomed to getting their asses kicked one way or another. Kano was fairly content to just stand back a bit and let the others do their thing. There wasn't enough water around to work with anyway. And what a show it was! Zai did his chi-blocking thing on one of them, hiding it as drunkenness. Clever. And then Zulera decided that the best way to deal with them was to give them a peep show and then kick their faces in while they were all slack-jawed. Scary... for more than one reason.

That left only a couple. Two of the ones still standing didn't quite know what to do. They were looking between the four companions as if not sure which to attack. The third, however, had no such issues. He was running at Yumi with a knife pulled from his waistband. He was in her blind spot, so she wasn't likely to see him in time.

Springing into fluid motion, Kano spun on the spot, drawing water from the air just as he had done on the docks. Even up here, the humidity made it a fairly simple thing. Still, he wasn't able to get much. As he spun back around, he issued the water out into a fine whip and brought it across the man's face, staggering him with a stinging hit across the nose and eyes. It was up to Yumi to finish him off...

Kano's eyes darted between the two girls as the conversation heated up. So they managed to deal with the thugs, but it seemed the fight wasn't quite over. And while it was a little scary that the first thought that entered Zulera's mind to get the upper hand was to flash a bunch of people, he was hardly phased by bare breasts. He didn't exactly find unclothed human bodies to be all that unusual. It was kind of funny... he did come from the most over-clothed nation in the world, after all.

Regardless, when Zulera set off back up the road, he followed her, passing their Fire Nation friend with a sympathetic smile. He knew a few of Zulera's many faults and he had nothing but sympathy for people who were the target of them. Still, it was pretty funny.

"You'll want to hurry." he said, stepping over one of the unconscious men. "Don't want those superiors of yours finding you milling around a bunch of 'assault victims'."

Kano followed along, enjoying the view again now that they'd dealt with their would-be muggers. It was a simple enough thing to have a fight and forget about it five minutes later. Bunch of idiots wanting to make some quick scratch by holding up random people on a mountainside road? Yeah. They were asking for someone to kick their business in.

Still, the first thought that came to mind as their argument continued was: Oh yeah. This is going to be relaxing. But one never knew -- there was a chance they'd get dinner AND a show... or at least lunch and a fight.

Kano looked around at them.

I wonder if Zai ever has to clean out his bad eye socket?

Kano took his seat, looking around. They didn't have too many restaurants in the Northern Water Tribe. Nevertheless, it was pretty obvious that this place was on the expensive side. He didn't know how much they were paying soldiers in the fire nation these days, but he seriously doubted it'd buy dinner for four in a place like this.

"So, do you think she's actually coming back?" Kano said, leaning on the table and examining the flowers in the vase at the center of the table. It didn't really matter to him either way. He didn't know how much it would cost to eat at this place for three, but he could afford it. Thus far, a world traveler he was not, but an expert in trading he was. He knew the value of a tribe piece.

"Fire-flake fried chicken-wombat?" Kano read as he scanned the bizarre menu. He didn't know if he believed that. And then his gaze fell on an even more unusual item -- roasted anaconda-beaver in turtle-duck sauce. "Seriously? I guess I'll have the house salad and the grilled eel-hound sandwich. Hold the bear-pig bacon."

He folded his menu and handed it to the waiter who took it with a smile.

"Oh, and water!" he said, almost forgetting. "Lots of water."

In truth, he had a pretty high stamina when it came to spicy foods. He just wanted the liquid close at hand in case someone needed to be doused. They'd been on a fairly narrow path toward Avatar versus Firebender, and if anything could seal the deal, Kano would have guessed it would be dinner conversation.
