Granted, but nobody knows how to use a hammock, so they burn them all, emit too much CO2 and the world overheats, icecaps melt, water levels rise thousands of feet and drowns everyone who isn't at least 5,280ft in elevation. Granted. But in remembering, you realize that you have long harbored thoughts of world domination that were never able to come to the surface because you thought it impossible. You become a master manipulator and use your political power to draw many great figures to your banner. Your scientists perfect the bomb and you proceed to use it to destroy and/or give free electricity to millions and are hailed as a slightly nicer second Hitler. The second Nuremberg Trials occur where you are found guilty of genocide, but because your explosives have a debatable humanitarian by-product, your defenders are able to get you off. This starts a massive arms race to produce weapons that both kill and give aid which in turn fuels a whole new generation of tyrants who all spring up upon realizing that even a mass-murderer can get away with it given an appropriately convoluted legal defense.

History remembers you as the father of this trend, called "Friendly Despotism" and eventually political movements arise that see you as the chief historical representation of this particular brand of evil. You are subsequently stricken from all records and every remaining statue of you is replaced with a statue of Pikachu because that is the only other major figure of your time history recalls by that point in the future. Your name from then on is used only to entitle a particular curried dish that is well known to cause night-blindness...
