Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet nodded, being a man who ate quickly, but not messily. He was not done yet, but he was getting there. "alright then. It sounds like a plan to me." he agreed. Akhet's schedule, like most of his life, was flexible, and flowed like water--smoothly, but along the paths of least resistance. He was also observant enough to notice that she seemed to kick her legs when she was happy. he had seen her do it when he had healed her, and she was doing it again now. "well, good cook or not," he chuckled, "as long as it isn't poison or makes me gag... I'll eat just about anything." Maybe it was a male thing, but Akhet was very much like that. he calmly continued to eat, also thinking about what they would do afterwards.

Minali Otoyome	Laughing, Minali reached over and gently shoved his shoulder - a playful response to the indirect teasing. "Mah food ain't gonna make ya sick!" She informed him, with a stifled laugh that came out as a giggle, "Yer a brat, ain'tcha?" Finished with her food, she set her spoon down into the bowl, spinning around on her stool to lean back, her lower back braced against the counter. "So Ah gotta head back with ya, t'get m'Quake Fist, at least," She mused aloud, addressing her companion, "An' then Ah guess... hope m'shop is clear've guards, so Ah can git home." Reaching up, she tugged on one of her curls, pulling it straight before releasing it to bounce back into place. "Gotta try an' get someone ta fix th'wall up fer me, too..."

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet just laughed when she pushed him. "I actually wasn't," he defended, though he could understand where she might have gotten that impression, "and nah... I'm hardly a brat. I just have a sharp wit." he winked playfully at her. "I'm ready to go when you are." he indicated, having cleaned his own bowl as well and finishing with a cool glass of water. "and I guess I'll tag along if you don't mind... if I were an earthbender I'd volunteer to help quickly clean up, although I'm fairly handy with my own hands as well." It was true, although he was no expert in this regard. However, lifting and moving things was fairly easy enough, and so he figured he could at least help her clean up or something. He stood up, glancing towards the exit, ready to return to his room to pick up a few important things first though.

Minali Otoyome	"Y'don't gotta, if y'don't wanna," She offers, sliding off her stool, landing lightly on the floor, "Ah might be able t'find some earthbender t'do it fer me... Fer a hell'ova lot more than a regular contracter'd charge me, m'sure." While Minali didn't hate bending, by any stretch, she was somewhat used to being run through the wringer by benders taking advantage of non-benders (though plenty of craftsmen would do the same, if given the chance). "Ah wouldn't mind ya comin', though," She added, after a moment, "Could show ya th'kinda stuff Ah make, fer m'self an' fer kids?" Her offer was accompanied by a smile.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	he chuckled. "well... I could at least help you clean up instead of having someone swindle you out of a load of silvers to do the same." Such was his logic anyways. He was used to doing odd jobs, usually for money, although was also fine with occasionally volunteering his services as well. He was a good and dilligent worker, and those who knew him could vouch for him. However, he didn't have many references in the Fire Nation, since he was a ways away from home--so he'd just prove it by showing. he grinned at her offer. "I actually would like to see that." he admitted in honesty. "part of the reason I wanted to come back to help you repair the damage was admittedly because I also wanted to see a bit of your shop." This was a remark to be taken at face value, without any secret undertones or anything. Otherwise, with that, he would continue walking till they reached his room.

Minali Otoyome	"Y'don't gotta," Minali told him again, though his offer did seem to make her happy, just the same; there was a slight bounce in her step (though that might also be because she was unencumbered by the Quake Fist). "Ah'd definitely appreciate it, though. Y'ain't gotta know much about buildin' walls, t'clean 'em up, Ah figure..." This time, she didn't walk backward, but beside Akhet, with her hands clasped at the small of her back.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	he chuckled again as he reached his room and unlocked it, also stepping inside to grab a few things in one of his bags. "but I want to." he indicated, "and so I probably will, unless you have any objections?" He would be ready to leave by the time she got her Quake Fist, and would step out with her, locking the door again as he went.

Minali Otoyome	Minali's smile brightened once again, as soon as she'd retrieved her machine and was walking beside Ahket. "Thank ya, fer helpin' me keep m'things safe," She smiled up at him, already heading back to her shop, "M'machines are important, t'me... but y'already knew that." By the time they returned to the store, the guards were, indeed, gone; the large hole in the side of the building had been blocked off by large metal shutters, and on the front door was a 'fix-it ticket'. "Aw, shit," Minali moped, tearing the slip of paper off the wooden door, "An' now this..."

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	"you're welcome." he smiled. "and aye, I did know that, but sometimes repetition is okay. It's good to reaffirm your stance on certain things." he followed her back, assessing the damage silently alongside her. She knew it better than he would, and so he was fine with silently remaining behind her, his bag over his shoulder. "What's that?" he asked, mostly because he was a bit behind her as she picked the slip of paper up off the door, and so he did not get to read what was on it the way she did. He had a feeling he knew, but he'd ask just in case to find out what exactly it said.

Minali Otoyome	"Th'guards're finin' me, fer havin' a hole in m'wall," She tells him, the emotion fading from her voice, "They're sayin' Ah got two days, t'fix it, or m'fine doubles..." Minali turns around, handing him the paper, for him to read. The fine is already pretty hefty, as it is; if it doubled, she could really be in trouble. Brushing her hair back, once again, she sighed before going to unlock the door, pushing it open. It was dark inside, but several odd, fantastic shapes were barely visible in the shadows. "Lemme just hit th'lights," She murmured, moving carefully into the room.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	"hmm..." he mumbled. "if anything, that makes it seem all that much more motivating to make all evidence of this incident... disappear. you shouldn't get fined for something that someone else did to you anyways." he was not entirely sure how to do that just yet, but his mind was already shifting three gears higher so he could start to contemplate his course of action. "Ah... and here's the part I was waiting for..." he grinned as she hit the lights, his eyes already darting around, even in the darkness. He was pretty much set on helping her now, perhaps out of certain feeling for her? Or was he just being a saint? perhaps time would tell.

Minali Otoyome	When the main lights flickered on, a whole host of other things turned on, as well, as if the entire store came to life. A small model steam-engine train started running on miniature tracks around the room, going under bridges or through tiny tree-lined forests. Several clockwork butterflies, which hung down from the rafters on colorful string, started to flap their wings, fluttering in place. Some had red and orange painted wings, while others were blue or green, or purple and even pink. Then, a few smaller, colorful lights started to blink on and off; they ran along the edges of the ceiling, making the entire shop look like a miniature wonderland. The walls were painted to look like a forest, which was actually near the Fire Fountain City. Hundreds of unique toys rested on shelves, atop display tables and inside glass cases. Rather than looking cluttered, however, it all looked very welcoming. "An' here she is," Minali smiled proudly, gesturing a hand at the interior of the toy store, with an air of showing it off, "Whadda'ya think?" There was no need for her to explain anything, or even to say anything else, at all - her work spoke for itself. She waited for Akhet to speak, carefully watching his face, trying to observe him for a reaction.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet stared around the room with wide eyes and a hanging-open jaw. It was not to say that he looked like a kid in awe, but he was certainly in some form of awe and amazement, and was therefore speechless. Briefly, his eyes darted to her as they scanned the entire room, unable to really stay focused on one thing for more than a few seconds because there always seemed to be something that jumped at him from the corner of his eyes. After several long seconds of staring in nearly a 180-degree radius, he was snapped back to reality by Minali opening her mouth again. "It... it's incredible!" was really all he could say. if he had been carrying anything in his hands, he would have likely dropped it from surprise, but his bag was over his shoulder. He did not know where to begin, and so he settled with that small, but effective, two-word answer.

Minali Otoyome	Minali beamed with pride at his compliment. "Ah bought th'building as soon as I was old enough t'put m'name on th'deed," She tells him, moving back toward the large metal cash register, "An' just... started fixin' 'er up. S'got an apartment, upstairs, an' th'workshop in th'basement. Damn nice set-up, Ah think." Reaching over, she gently turned the switch on a dragon toy, causing it to open its jaws in a silent roar, moving its claws around. Minali giggled at it, before looking back at Akhet, smiling brightly, "Th'kids seem t'like it, too, so Ah'm happy t'keep makin' toys, alongside m'machines."

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet looked around, now sort of in admiration now that he had taken it all in. "well... it's a nice little place." he admitted, "all the more reason I'm willing to help you fix it up if needs be." he nodded in the direction of where the hole was, to indicate that that was what he was talking about instead of insinuating that the building itself needed a makeover. "I've got to hand it to you." he smiled at her. "these are some cool toys... machines and all." He knew a lot of inventors that referred to their machines as toys, and while he wasn't sure that Minali did the same, it was a safe guess to say she did. He did not advance further, deciding to see what her course of action would be instead.

Minali Otoyome	Gesturing at the paper in Akhet's hand with a sigh, Minali glances away, "Ah think Ah really do need yer help... Before th'fine, Ah would've tried t'do it all m'self, but two days just ain't enough time fer me t'fix everythin'." This time, it almost seems a little easier for her, to accept his help; either she's really worried about her shop, or she's started to see him as her friend, rather than healing acquaintance. Offering him a smile, she continues, "Ah know it's a lot fer me t'ask... Ain't got too much extra income, but Ah could pay ya a little, fer th'help? Or make ya somethin' special, if y'want it?" More than struggling to repay him, it seems that she's really hoping for him to agree... though he already had offered - she's a goofball.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	he smiled at her. Sure there was still that slight aura of confidence in his expression, but it was much friendlier than it had been when they first met. "You've got yourself a deal." he said softly after she had finished speaking. "We can worry about repayment as we go, but I've got our back on this. last thing I'd want would be to see government interference be the end of a budding business like this." he was fine if he got paid, be it in money or services or goods or whatever else, although he was also fine just helping her, because she was adorable when she was happy, and he liked that about her. he glanced at her again, raising an eyebrow. "So... how do you want to start?" He'd take orders from her during this project, so to speak, but as far as he cared, he was ready to work.

Minali Otoyome	"Y'wanna go ahead an' start now?" She blinks, surprised. Truthfully, Minali had already planned to stay up all night, cleaning the rubble out of her workshop by herself, and have him help her out in the morning. His offer made her feel... funny. She felt happy, of course, and touched - and a little squirmy, kinda. Pushing the squirming feeling away, she treated Akhet to another bright smile. "If y'wanted t'help, Ah was gonna start clearin' th'rubble," She admits, opening the back door, revealing a set of stairs that lead down into the basement workshop, "Ah got a wheelbarrow, unless someone's gone an' filched it, too. S'right below." Because of the way the store was built, on a slant, the basement was half below-ground, and half on the street (where the hole was, now), so they would be working down there. With that, she descends the stairs with little bounces, disappearing into the dark. A flight is flipped on a moment later, illuminating her workshop, and the large iron shutters that obscure the hole. There was, in fact, a large wheelbarrow underneath the wooden basement stairs; Minali grabbed onto the handles, wiggling it out of its spot, "Yeah, 'ere she is!"

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	he shrugged with his nice chuckle. "sure. why not?" He liked her. That was certain. He was not sure if she liked him though, or if she knew he liked her. He was not even sure how much he liked her. He would figure out later. "I assumed that would be where we start. The first step in reparation efforts is cleaning up the damage." He was familiar with it from the war, which, while he did not actually participate in, being young at the time, he did help in the cleanup efforts. He followed Minali downstairs, observing the damage briefly, and watching as she freed the wheelbarrow from its place under the stairs. "Excellent. Looks like we're ready to go then." he nodded at her, already getting to picking up the largest slabs of rock. he was also looking around to see if there was any water damage, because he could fix that with true ease. He had not seen any when he first saw Minali freshly ejected from the workshop, but he was still looking around the interior. "Where are we going to dump it?" he asked her, wondering where she had planned to put the broken materials.

Minali Otoyome	"Um," Seemed that was another good question, "Lessee... Th'garbage dump's outside th'city wall," Minali considered this, stopping what she was doing to survey the rubble, most of which was still solid brickwork, "Seems a damn shame t'junk it all, though." Her wheels were turning. Moving over to a small pile of bricks, she picked one up, holding it in both hands to turn it over and around, carefully. "Wonder if... Ah could make something with it," She muses, chewing on her lower lip. Looking up at Akhet, she blushes, knowing that she was just 'in the zone', "Um - what d'ya think?"

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	He hadn't thought of that, and so her idea was an interesting insight for him. It was a long way to the outside of the city walls, and while Akhet was game for it (having travelled much father across colder, more hostile terrain many times), perhaps she had a point. It wasn't laziness. Laziness was just a derogatory term for efficiency. he glanced over at her, two large chunks of brickwork in his broad hands. his eyes widened with curious interest. "Oh? What sort of thing did you have in mind?" He couldn't think of anything off the top of his head, but this was her forte, so she probably ran metaphorical circles around him when it came to thinking of things to build on the fly.

Minali Otoyome	"Dunno if it'd be good fer a machine," Minali hummed, turning the brick over for a final time, "But maybe Ah could make a table 'r workbench out've 'em?" She looked back up at him, meeting his gaze, "Better'n wasting 'em, right? What d'ya think?" It wasn't mechanics, but it was building something useful! It might even be beautiful, when she was finished; her shop was certainly prettier than most people would have thought.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	Akhet looked at the bricks in his hands and then back at her. "I think it could be done..." he agreed, "A few might need a bit of trimming, but hey... like my sister used to say... if it ain't broken, don't chuck it." he failed to mention that it was in reference to a toboggan sled that looked about to fall apart. during one of Akhet's runs, it did, and he got a facefull of snow. He got back at Zulera for that though, so it was long since good. "you got a broom around here?" he asked, already starting to organize the bricks by their usability, putting the stray chunks that would have minimal use into the wheelbarrow, and looking for a way to get the stone crumbs and dust out of the scene.

Minali Otoyome	"Comin' up," Minali actually winked at him, going back upstairs to retrieve a broom. She had no need to instruct him, since he was already doing exactly what she would do; organizing the bricks and tossing out the few unusable bits. Now in such a good mood, Minali began humming, retrieving the shop broom. Bouncing back down the stairs, she does a twirl, with the broom in her hands, before joining him on the floor. "Gotta get this sorted, first've all, yeah?" Grabbing for bricks, she ordered them according to his system, humming all the while - some soft tune that must've been a song.

Akhet Sumatra Tallarico	"sweet." he nodded, and as she disappeared upstairs, he too began casually humming to himself, to the tune of an old lullaby his mother used to sing him. he had swift and deft hands, the palms of which were actually rather smooth--the hands of a healer. however, physical labor was not foreign to him, as he was demonstrating now. it was, however, why he wore those hand wraps. skillfully tossing the broken bits unceremoniously into either the wheelbarrow or another pile, he was more careful with the intact bricks. occasionally he stopped to break off chunks of one brick from another intact brick. he had 4 piles on the floor around him--whole bricks, almost-whole bricks (such as ones that only had small chips or pieces missing), and then three piles of broken bricks categorized by size, with the smallest pile being the one he threw into the wheelbarrow. "That we do." he nodded as he noticed her return and ask the question. "it should only take a few more minutes to sort the rest of these out." he had not stopped when he replied, and so was still busy sorting the chunks by shape and size.
