Akira Shirogane II	Once the tea had been finished, along with the ridiculous tiny cakes, Akira rose and performed the most flowery of social niceties for two young people parting ways. He escorted Varsha all the way home - despite any and all protests - and promised to meet her the next day near the city square, for a run as they'd discussed. With that, he finally bid the lovely (and likely annoyed) Varsha farewell and made his own way home, with Li-Li's leash in hand. The following day was overcast and chilly, but a promise had been made, and thus Akira could be found near the exact center of the city square, bright and early. He was surprisingly bright eyed and bushy tailed, all things considered, though his clothes were of the variety that seem too nice to be training clothes - that was the most popular and impractical style, of course.

Varsha Zere Zakau	Some might have said it was surprising, but whatever the case, Varsha did allow Akira to lead her home. She was surprised that he could find where she lived, but otherwise did not say anything on the subject. She was noble and dignified, after all, and was not about to blow all of that off. Varsha was surprisingly, a morning person, perhaps from the inner firebender in her or something cheesy like that, but whatever the case, she was there right at the specified time, dressed in her red and black training garb, which left her massive hands and feet bare, as well as her wild hair which trailed down her back. While the clothing was very loose, it was clear that it was concealing a very athletic physique. "Good morning," she greeted him."I am a woman of my word, and thus here I am."

Akira Shirogane II	"Here you are!" Akira agreed cheerfully. He was, thankfully, without his 'faithful' pet - who would want a poodle-monkey screeching or nipping at their heels while they ran? His reasoning, however, was that running made Li-Li tired, and she was too delicate to do such a thing every day. He'd tried it. Waiting for Varsha to stretch or whatnot, he ventured, "How far do you usually run in the morning, my lady?" It was clear that the answer he expected wouldn't be very impressive.

Varsha Zere Zakau	As Akira spoke, sure enough, Varsha was stretching, bending and contorting her body into various gymnastical poses to keep ehr flexibility up. Her back and a few joints popped now and again, and she once bent far enough backwards that her sweeping black hair literally touched the ground. Granted, it was about 3 feet long (on a 6-foot-tall woman). "I usually run about 14 miles." she answered, "well, 7 miles there and 7 back... so just a quick 2, 2½-hour workout to start my day and get me energized." she explained simply. She was certainly not trying to show off, and the way her tone came out made it seem like this was perfectly normal. "and how about you?" she asked, simply curious.

Akira Shirogane II	A little taken aback at the sheer distance Varsha mentioned running every day for her warmup, Akira plastered a grin across his face, trying to figure out what to say. He generally ran only two miles out and then back, for a total of four... but he did not want to admit to running less than a noblewoman did. That, and in only two and a half hours?? The 'master swordsman' didn't think that it was even possible. "Well," he began, trying to inject a note of pride and confidence into his voice, apparently deluding himself into believing the words about to spew forth from his mouth, "You know, I usually only run a handful of miles to start, followed by some weights and cardio and - haha, you know." The charismatic grin was trained on Varsha, and Akira hoped that she either believed him, or wouldn't know what those words meant and thus took him at his word anyway. No such luck, of course, but it was worth a shot. Bluffing had always worked for him with the young ladies before.

Varsha Zere Zakau	Varsha admittedly did push herself in this regard, for her morning workout routine was much more of a run rather than a job. But on the other hand, no one could really argue with the results. Under that dress (or in this case, her athletic attire), was a finely sculpted body, and a very healthy one at that. "well..." she decided to play lenient, wondering what exactly he meant by his words (knowing full well what they meant of course), "did you want to show me your workout routine instead then?" She was kind of anticipating one-upping him at it if it even existed at all (okay, so maybe she was a teeeeeny bit insulted still from the previous day), but at the same time, she did want an insight on what he did do...

Akira Shirogane II	Well shit, that hadn't worked. Puffing out his chest to appear more manly - both to Varsha (hopefully) and to himself - Akira spoke once again, in his most gallant tone of voice, "I wouldn't dream of subjecting such a beautiful young lady to such a harsh training regiment; particularly one as magnificent as you are, Lady Varsha." Reaching up to brush at his bangs, "Though... I suppose that it would be alright, if I took it easy for you." He'd do no such thing, of course, since her workout was far more strenuous than his own. No matter what Akira did, Varsha was running circles around him with ease (so to speak, though they did begin with running). Starting off in a very slow jog, Akira led the way around the city, looking as though he intended to chat the entire way.

Varsha Zere Zakau	"don't worry, princess. I think I can handle it." she reassured him. And sure enough... after tehy started, Varsha quickly found herself bored with... well, how slow they were going. She normally kept a fairly brisk pace, and so instead of complaining, she simply made it a challenge for herself, and actually DID begin running circles around him. He was pretty much slow enough that it was not a real difficulty on her end anyways. On the other hand, her breathing was so calm and controlled, that she was willing to chat as if this was nothing. "so where do you usually jog to?" she asked, for this was not her usual 14-mile round trip (but she'd make the best of it). "Not that I care too much; just curious to know which way you're headed..." she was still running circles around him, but at the same time, willing to see how this made him react.

Akira Shirogane II	Though his pride was becoming more and more bruised by the moment, Akira tried to keep the same expression on his face - that 'charismatic' grin (that made most people want to punch his lights out). "Just around this beautiful city," He answered, managing to keep from huffing or puffing; he wasn't quite that unathletic. How was this woman doing so much better than he was? He was Akira Shirogane the Second! Master swordsman! Firebending extraodinaire! No mere woman could best him in any fair competition! ...Maybe he was sick? That thought made him both nervous and relieved, at the same time. If he was sick, that explained everythi -- oh, wait, no... Not quite everything. Well, maybe she was cheating? But how?

Varsha Zere Zakau	Varsha did not seem very interested in "rubbing it in", so to speak, if her reaction was anything to go by. She was calm and content. This was a cakewalk, even running circles around this young man. He was definitely all talk and no action, but frankly, as long as he wasn't talking shit about her or demeaning her talents and abilities, she was fine with that. If he wanted to boast and puff up his own skills to be a legend equivalent of the Avatar herself or something... so be it. Just as long as he left her out of his comparisons. But, whatever the case, soon they had made the full round trip and were back at their destination, and frankly... well, it was a disappointment. she was just getting started, and so was now all pumped up. Hopefully there was more to it. "So is this it?" she asked, trying to stay polite, "or is there more to it?" she was hopping lightly from one foot to another as if trying to maintain a jog. If this was it, she'd probably run a few more miles before going home to start her day.

Akira Shirogane II	By this point, the peacock's feathers were quite ruffled, so to speak. Regardless of how polite Varsha might be, Akira was now seeing her very presence as an insult to his masculinity and pride. Though there was no accusatory or derogatory tone in the young woman's voice, Akira imagined it there, and thus became quite offended (not that he wasn't already). "Well, I am going inside to complete my workout," He told her, with an air of dignity that he had no right to possess, "Until we meet again, Lady Varsha." With a small bow, Akira made his way back into his home with as much of that false dignity as he could muster - it must've looked quite funny.

Varsha Zere Zakau	Maybe she was in the wrong for this, but she felt offended hat his rudeness, especially since she felt she had been rather polite thus far--or tried to be. So many times she had just given him the benefit of the doubt, before finalyl realizing that he really was as hopelessly pathetic as she had theorized on that first day. "are you serious?" she scoffed, "that's awfully rude..." but she did not follow after him. in fact, if he turned around, she would probably turn and slug him in the face... left-handed, as not to go full overkill on him or anything. But frankly, she was a little huffy herself too, feeling like this had become personal and that he had offended her without provocation. But, she would not lose her cool. she had to remain civil or she'd be dragged down to his level.
