Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	If she hadn't known that Isi once bore scars across her back, Shi-Hao would never have been able to tell, and she told the other young woman so. While laughing, she also told her friend not to worry about flashing her backside. "The healer here does amazing work," She smiled, a bit softer now rather than from mirth, moving so that the hot mineral-infused water lapped up over her collar bone, "You look wonderful - really." Then, on the subject of hair, she pouted quite slightly, "I always wanted curls, when I was a girl... All I got were waves; even trying for a perm didn't help, since they aren't permanent and I'm not exactly easy on my adventures." The heiress called them adventures, but what she meant were her excursions down into the underground ring, of course.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	Isi relaxed again as the warm water licked her body and some of her longer curls. "Ah... well thank'ee... y'look rather purdy y'erself..." that was about as good of a compliment as Isi could come up with. It wasn't like she had ever had any kind of romantic relationship before, so she certainly didn't know the rules, so to speak. She wasn't looking for one either. She was just speaking her mind--something she did a lot (there was more than one reason she'd get into a lot of fights). "well... it ain't lahk these 'r super curly-curls..." she admitted, tugging lightly on some of her hair between her fingers as she stretched her legs out in the tub. They certainly weren't quite as curly as, say, the curls owned by a certain adorable young engineer living in the Fire Nation at the moment. "they just... kinda curl... y'saw m'family, raht?" They all had the same kind of long, loose, curly hair. her mother's was particularly curly, meaning that maybe her father's had been slightly less so? "y'er waves 'r still kinda cute though..." she reached over to lightly tug one of her friend's wavy locks just to feel it. Hopefully it was not an offensive gesture or anything. "Mahn'll probably be better once they trim it up 'n git rid've all th'knots 'n matted parts." there weren't a whole lot of these though; just a few near the ends. a few of her more lank curls did bounce as she spoke though (although that might have also been becuase her hair was wet) so it was kind of cute.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	Shi-Hao certainly didn't mind, as she had grown up with people who thought it was their right to pinch cheeks and coo over cute little girls whenever they liked. "Thank you very much," She smiled, a little surprised at the compliment actually, since she only ever heard it from randy men or other socialites who usually turned it into a backhanded compliment, or somehow used it to compliment themselves even further. "What are you thinking of all this grandeur, thus far?" She decided to ask, gesturing about the huge, luxurious room. Somehow, based on the gesture and her tone of voice when she said 'grandeur', the young heiress made it clear that she didn't care for it one way or the other.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	"y'er welcome." she nodded with a smile. She didn't really get complimented much other than by her mother and siblings who were grateful for her sacrifices in putting bread on the table for them. Well, and prior to today, she hadn't ever really looked prim and proper, or even very clean. She was humble for a variety of reasons though, this just being one of them. At the question, Isi paused, her brown eyes darting around the room, from the beautiful and benevolent woman next to her, to everything else around her. It was... well, it was overwhelmingly grand to her, almost. "it's... n'tense..." she admitted, "Ah...Ah've never seen such lux'ry in m'n 'tire lahf. Ah lahk it tho..." she smiled as she put her head under to let the minerals flow through her hair and scalp, and the (now much smoother) skin of her face.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	"I think..." Shi-Hao hummed, perhaps thinking about the reasons behind her thoughts for the first time, "That I would appreciate it more if the other patrons here did, as well. Rather; if they appreciated the positions that they earned - or were given - and used them to do more good, in the world." Then, with a sheepish smile, she looked up to meet Isi's gaze, "Though, mind you, I just started feeling that way, myself, after traveling around for a while... I hadn't known much about people in different situations, before that." Then, clearing her throat and glancing away, she added, "I still can't say that I know how difficult things can be, for other people... not empathetically, but - without sounding pretentious - I do really want to help, now." Then, to clarify, "Though, I think I still have a problem with people who waste their potential and wallow in their own self pity. You don't at all, and I think that's why your story touched me so deeply when I heard it." Cat was out of the bag, now. Shi-Hao hoped that Isi would understand, and that nothing she said was... insensitive, considering her background.

Ah kinda useta think that all rich folk were lahk that... 'good to see they ain't. If thar's one thing I'd wanna prove... 'zthat any'un kin make a diff'rence with wut they 'ave... it maht take sum' hard work... but it kin be done." "Ah don't mean t'try 'n wallow 'n any self-pity here..." she admitted, "but mah lahf wuz horrid. Ah hated it... Ah was a bitter li'l shit 'n Ah knew it. Ah jus... well, Ah didn' have nothin' t'be happy 'bout... m'family wuz starvin' Ah was getting' abused on a daily basis, m'hours were long 'n mah pay wuz shit. Ah... well, 'm gladja understand me then..." she smiled. She relaxed again, wondering when it'd be time to go get her hair trimmed up and done, but at the same time, the mineral bath was heavenly and Isi would be hesitant to get out of it even when the time did come.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	Shi-Hao was thankful that she hadn't been misunderstood, because that was more or less how she felt about other wealthy families, at this point. Before she could say anything more on the subject, however, an attendant came up to the two women, announcing that their hair care session was ready to begin. "Time to get out," the heiress chuckled, slowly pulling herself up and out of the water. Towels were nearby, thankfully, and so neither of them would get cold before they were able to cover up. Shi-Hao wrapped hers around herself as she was used to doing, not so much bothering to actually dry off with it. She would wait for Isi to be ready to go, of course, as they were both headed to the same place, now.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	Before she knew it, they had finished their time in the mineral pools, and before getting out, Isi dunked her head in one last time to let the warm water run through her hair and down her face. The stress that had so heavily dominated this poor girl seemed to be almost completely gone, and she looked so much better now. Without all the muck and grime, and without those nasty scars... well, Isikiro did not look too bad naked. Isi followed Shi-Hao even to the point of not drying off when she crawled out and wrapped a towel around her, and instead followed the other woman into where they would get their hair styled. She didn't know what to expect here, although had a loose idea that it'd be for her hair what the healing procedure earlier had been for her skin. She was quiet, from a lack of things to say, but if Shi-Hao started talking to her again, she'd speak of course.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	Once they were seated in their own chairs - which were nearby, but not too close for comfort - it became rather difficult to hold a conversation, and so Shi-Hao didn't push it. Their hair was washed (Isi's was washed twice), conditioned and partway dried, before any mention of cutting came about. The young heiress asked for a mere inch to be taken off the ends, just to even them out, but otherwise allowed the stylist to do their thing. She did glance over from time to time, making sure that Isi was doing okay, but otherwise Shi-Hao allowed her friend to enjoy herself. It was very relaxing, to lean back and hear the scissors clipping away; or, at least it was to her. The whole process didn't take terribly long - much less time than the healing or mineral bath, certainly.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	Isi gave a weak smile Shi-Hao's way before she relaxed and let them do with her hair what they would. Getting it washed... well, and the scalp massage that came with it... she'd definitely be A-OK with doing this again. when asked about it herself, Isi requested just for them to trim off any knots or matted areas, but other otherwise preserve as much of it as possible. She liked her lank curls. they were sometimes fun to play with. Otherwise, Isikiro closed her eyes and seemed to be calm and content with all of this. Part of her wondered what they'd be wearing afterwards (since she'd almost feel dirty going back to her work clothes again, even if her mother had spent hours the previous night making sure they were clean and presentable to "this benevolent benefactor"), but she figured that she'd worry about that when the time came. For now, she was going to enjoy getting her hair done and cleaned up.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	The other girl might be surprised to find out that Shi-Hao had already arranged for clothes to be brought for Isi to wear during the rest of their day out, based on the size of her work clothes (which the spa staff were watching and keeping safe). Nothing too terribly fancy... yet. The fancy clothes would be purchased under the watchful, experienced eye of the young heiress during their shopping spree. In the meantime, their cuts were going quite well and smoothly. Isi's stylist was skilled and experienced enough to keep most of her hair length intact (while apologizing a minimal amount of times for having to stop to untangle a few curls). Once finished, her hair would look mostly the same, though perhaps a tiny bit shorter and somehow... less dense. Perhaps because of the lack of tangles and gnarled locks.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	Isi would not have had any idea that Shi-Hao had gotten her some other clothes to wear. The 'work clothes' that Isi had were her "nice pair" that she had, for times when she had to look presentable. the soot and grime was pretty much ground into all of her other boots and outfits... so she did hope to keep that one (at least somewhere). But she wasn't really thinking about that, despite ironically thinking about the fancy clothes that would probably come after getting her nails done or maybe playing with makeup or cosmetics--just more girly things that Isi had never touched. By the time Isi's hair was finished, Isi gazed at it for a while. "it feelz laht'r!" she flipped it happily, not caring that she had nothing to cover herself with but a towel, "Ah lahk it... 'n it ain't tangled no more... y'all dun good... thank'ee." she smiled at everyone in the room, much happier now. She glanced over at Shi-Hao, wondering what was next. Thus, she popped that very question. "so, uh..." she glanced at her hands, "what's next?"

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	Though the young heiress looked mostly the same, Shi-Hao's hair did look a bit cleaner and neater (not that it looked bad before, of course). "Your hair looks great," Shi-Hao assured her with a smile, and the two stylists nodded in agreement nearby. It was true; Isi was looking prettier and prettier - both as the treatments went on, and as she got happier and happier. "Next is the manicure and pedicure," came the answer, with a slight sigh, "And the inevitable gossip - though," Shi-Hao tilted her head in acknowledgement, "It can be handy sometimes, to know who is partnering up with whom." Though she was born into money, the young heiress was also a smooth business woman.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	"thank'ee." she smiled. maybe it was because she was devoid of the soot and grime that had dominated her face for so long, or maybe it was because it was because she was happier--now that there was a smile on her face and the stress that had dominated her muscles and posture was gone. She didn't look like the hostile and aggressive woman she used to be (although she might still pick fights with people). This was not a bad thing. "Ah'll prolly soun' clueless 'en." she chuckled, "'nless y'all wanna hear 'bout what we coal miners gossip 'bout... ain't much... just 'bout shit lahk rocks 'n chafts 'n carts 'n coal..." she glanced at her fingernails and then down at her toes. yeah, they'd need work. "looks lahk they'll have a fun tahm wit' me too." she chuckled sheepishly, referring to her fingers and toes. it'd be good for her though. Maybe Shi-Hao could even introduce Isikiro to the concept of painting one's nails.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	"After all these years, that might be more interesting than hearing about what Lady Shirogane is up to this month," Shi-Hao laughed, standing up and making sure that her towel was secured. "Shall we?" She asked, then, with a smile, ready to both lead Isi and follow the attendants, herself. The hallway to the nail care area was the same as all the others had been, designed to be soothing and and short as possible. The nail care room, however, was a bit different than the rest. Where the rest had been designated for either single people or very small groups, this room could hold twelve patrons at the same time. "It might be a little noisy," Shi-Hao warned as they entered, "Depending on who might be here." The warning wasn't necessary, however, as there was only one other woman in the room at this time, and she was seated at the other end.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	Isi cracked a sheepish chuckle. "Ah guess that 'pends on what y'all do 'fer fun 'r on y'er spare tahm?" she shrugged, having genuinely no clue herself. At the same time, she couldn't really imagine what the nobility did on their spare time, the concept of spare time still being rather foreign to her. This, for example, would never have been something she would have thought of ever doing with her time. Not that it was bad; just that she had never had this much time off. She ensured her towel was secure, and followed Shi-Hao into the next room. "a'raht." she nodded. she was used to noise, although it was more the noise of heavy equipment and miners at work rather than conversing people, so she wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Luckily for her, the room was mostly empty, and so Isi wasn't bothered at all by the presence of the single other woman. Either way, she followed suit with whatever Shi-Hao did, and was otherwise ready to go full-girly and get her nails done.

Shi-Hao took her place and got into position, explaining it for Isi's benefit. "Go ahead and get comfortable," She began, "And then place your wrists on the pad, like this." Demonstrating her instructions, Shi-Hao showed her companion how that lifted her fingernails for the stylist. "Oh, and your feet soak in these little trays," She mentioned as well, slipping her own into the prepared watery concoction beneath her chair, "It's even more minerals and such to soak in, so that your toenails and the tough skin on the bottoms of your feet soften for the pedicure." It must have seemed strange to someone who had never done this before.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	"mmkay," Isikiro nodded, shifting herself in her seat and laying her hands out as so. her fingernails were in fact a bit rough, but thankfully were not black anymore thanks to all the healing and cleansing that had been done before this. Still... they might need some filing and a bit of smoothening before anything else, but otherwise, they'd be prime for painting before the coal miner knew it. "Ah." she nodded as she glanced at the trays near her feet, "Ah wuz wun'drin'." she dipped her feet in, shuddering a moment before relaxing again. it felt nice, even if it was still a fairly foreign concept for her. She was used to wearing heavy boots herself, since otherwise the coal dust would have permanently painted her soles black, and she couldn't be having that. Otherwise though, she relaxed and let the stylists do their work.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	The nail stylist was just as pleasant as the healer had been - as all of the staff had been, really. Taking Isi's hand carefully, she began with a cuticle treatment and then a quick trim of the nails, smoothing away any chips or uneven tips. It didn't take any time at all for the young miner's nails to be smooth and shiny... and even. "What would you like painted on them?" The girl asked Isi with a smile, opening up part of the desk to reveal all the different polishes they used, "Or would you just like a solid color?" Nearby, Shi-Hao was vaguely listening, even as her own nails were being worked on. This seemed to be one area in which she needed just as much work as Isi did, since the heiress did actual work (unlike most rich women in the highest social circles). Her own nails would soon be painted green, with some golden designs on them.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	If there was one thing that would surely win Isikiro right back to this place on at least a semi-regular basis, it'd be the friendliness and gentleness of the staff. it did feel weird to have someone else working on her fingernails like that. Mostly Isi had just kept them worn down against the rocks in the mines or something. Well... now that she had motivation and time to keep herself and her body clean and tidy... she would be able to take care of herself, including something as minor as her nails. Luckily her toenails weren't as bad since they were protected usually by her sturdy socks and boots, but she wasn't worried about that. it felt nice to dip her feet in that warm water to let them relax. "mmm..." she shrugged, glancing at Shi-Hao as if for suggestions, before simply saying "go 'head 'n surprise me. Ah ain't picky." She truly wasn't. She had no real knowledge of fashion, because as a coal miner... did she really need any? She closed her eyes either way, deciding to let herself be 'surprised' in this regard. she didn't think Shi-Hao or these friendly stylists would make her nails look hideous or anything, after all. She was more trusting than that.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	Because of all her own frequent visits to the spa, Shi-Hao knew the stylist that was currently working on Isi, and she trusted the girl's judgement. Still, she chose to watch her do her thing, since her own nails had undergone such treatment many times before - the young heiress knew that they would be nice, once they were done. Starting with a solid coat of medium-tone green, the stylist soon had each nail covered and drying, during which time she selected other colors and began planning out the initial design. It took a bit of time, as nail art tends to, but soon vines flowering with roses were depicted on Isi's nails, looking elegant but cheerful at the same time, because of the lighter colors thrown in - the roses seemed to be in the sun, rather than shaded. "How do you like them?" The girl asked, setting her tools aside, finally finished.

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	Isikiro trusted Shi-Hao's judgment, and so if her friend trusted this stylists' judgment, it was an a=b=c sort of thing, and thus Isi was okay with it in the long run. So perhaps the coal miner just liked color in general given that she was usually just surrounded with browns, blacks, and greys, but this was genuinely a real treat, when she finally opened her eyes to see it. She did like green a lot--probably actually enough to consider it her favorite color, since it reminded her of greenery, which she did not see very often herself. and to top it off with designs? yeah. Isi was awestruck. "is' beauty'ful." she exclaimed, in almost a hushed whisper, "thank'ee!" she was fixated on her fingernails, wiggling her fingers and stretching them as if making sure that yes, these were in fact still her hands. These, the large, rough hands of a physical laborer... and yet right now she felt so... well, girly. and she liked it. Now she wondered what they'd do to her toenails if they made her fingernails so pretty.

The nails, of course, not whole toes - hopefully that was clear. Shi-Hao's stylist was already starting on her pedicure, but mostly because the heiress had simply asked for her usual. Nothing simpler, really. She did keep an eye on her friend, smiling easily, not at all unhappy about the lack of conversation. It made her feel good to see the other girl so happy over something like this... something that she never would have expected her to like so much. Hopefully that meant that Isi would also be okay with dressing up a bit. Today was going to be about as girly as it got, with the sole exception of perhaps a bridal shower or something (which was not on either girl's agenda).

Isikiro Sherazi Anazalrok	"Ah... uhm, sure!" she replied, glancing at her fingers again and then down at her toes. It was almost a pity she'd be wearing shoes today and thus hiding her toenails... but she supposed it was better than getting the paint chipped or dirty on the first day. She kenw Shi-Hao was just referring to the toenails and not her whole toes. She did figure they'd be pretty though, since Isi had very large feet, and thus large toes and large toenails. And thus, she relaxed as she felt the same treatment on her toes that she had on ehr fingers. Luckily the healer and the mineral baths had cleaned most of her feet, but Isi did have to strain herself a few times to keep from kicking. She was ticklish, after all. (but thankfully there was no apologizing or explaining needed, and so her toenails would get painted without a hitch.) This was definitely a guilty pleasure, or perhaps just a pleasure that she had just never been made aware of. Underneath that mannish brawler was probably one of the girliest girls to ever girl. While she didn't say it, she was ready for anything at this point. Lace, bows, shoes, (heels), dresses, colors, makeup... or whatever else entailed girliness. She was admittedly unfamiliar with it all (this being literally the first time she had done anything like this in her life), and so these were some pretty damn good educated guesses.

Shi-Hao Ni Kaihua	While the pedicures took longer than the manicures - with all the smoothing down and such - it was mostly uneventful. Each of the girls got the same type of designs done on their toenails, and soon they were ready to head to the next area. "Now we go to make-up," Shi-Hao told Isi, rising once again from her seat and ensuring that her towel was secure, "Then... we get dressed and go out shopping." Though it may have sounded like they were almost done, the young heiress knew that shopping usually took the longest. They'd likely be waited upon and followed around at each and every boutique, as well, which tended to drive her a bit batty after a while; let a lady shop in peace!
