Rising Intensity [Closed]

Lau Linh was destroying whatever governmental compound she came across at the moment by destroying its foundation with Lava bending, causing it to collapse. Sure, she encountered Fire Nation soldiers along the way who had tried to stop her, but they were no challenge and Lau easily took them out without much effort. What really caught her mind was the fight up in the sky of the Xuri Airships. Lau wasn't sure what was going on, but she was honeslty impressed at the powerful lightning attack that hit one of the Zeppelins that was fired from the ground. She watched as two of the Xuri airships were taken out from some kind of attack she couldn't see from all the way down here.

She was in the middle of turning the ground around a guard building into lava in order to destroy it as she observed the sky battle. Her attention was suddenly pulled back to the guard tower when a voice called out, "Stop! "There are people trapped in there!"

Lau turned back around and plainly said, not caring for all the people who were going to die in a few minutes, "Yea, I know that. That's part of the reason why I'm doing this. What do you want anyway? Perhaps you would like to join them?"

"I love confident boys," Lau said as she turned the ground in front of her into lava and rose it to create a thick wall and block the incoming fire attacks, "Especially when you watch as their confidence is slowly replaced with dread when they come to realize how futile their skills are against mine!"

Lau then the wall of Lava toward Katsuo literally creating a wave of molten rocks. As the wave of lava approached Katsuo, Lau began to turn the ground all around her into lava, leaving a rock platform just below her feet in the pool of lava. Lau laughed to herself, she was probably the last person her opponent should face if he wanted to survive to see tomorrow. Amongst the Xuri members, Lau was probably one of the toughest, and here in the middle of the city, all earth was her weapon.

"Why would I do that? This is sooo much funner!" Lau laughed sadistically.

Lau simply rose another wall of lava to block the incoming fireballs again. It was clear to the Lava Bender that she had the upper ground against this Fire Bender and she was enjoying it. All of a sudden, from the pool of that circled her, Lau called up a large ball of magma and sent it flying in the air, catapulting in an arc toward Katsuo. To anyone on the recievng end, this would truly be a terrifying sight.

"Now let me see you beg!" Lau called out to him maniacally as the giant ball of lava approached Katsuo from above.

"Show y'erself!" Lau heard a girl nearby call out, "y'wanna challenge" Ah'll give y'a challenge!"

Lau looked over to see the source of the voice only to see it originated from a girl with light brown skin and dark wavy hair. From the current distance, it was a bit difficult to pick out any more physical features on the girl, but it was apparent that she was Earth Bender as she used such abilities to stabilize the building Lau was trying to collapsed.

"Tch" Lau said annoyed at the presence of the new girl in front of her. She didn't like it when people distracted her fights.

With the massive ball of lava still coming down on Katsuo, Lau turned to face Ishikiro and said motioning toward Katsuo's position, "Go away, I'm having fun with this man right here."

Even so, with that said, Lau suddenly sent a small Frisbee size disk of lava flying toward Ishikiro as punishment for distracting her.

"You wish to fight it out?" Lau laughed and taunted, "If that's the case, at least do something more entertaining!"

From the lava trench around her, Lau raised a wall of lava the moment she saw the Isikiro was going to fight back. Upon raising the lava wall, Lau began to instantly cool it, causing the lava wall to turn into a smooth, pitch black rock.

Isikiro's rock barrage was slamming against the lava rock wall. Even though lava rock is more durable then the type of rock Isikiro was attacking with, the lava rock wasn't completely cooled and Isikiro's attack was quickly breaking apart Lau's wall.

In order to stop Isikiro's barrage, Lau would have to put the ex-miner on defense. Lau shot up lava behind her over her head and directly toward Isikiro, with the intention of showering her with molten rocks. Along with the aerial attack, Lau sent a huge, moderately slow moving wave of lava toward Isikiro. Even though the wave was slow and posed no threat at the moment, it would soon become a immense problem for Isikiro.

"Don't you dare back off now!" Lau cackled as she broke down her lava rock wall in front of her. She always enjoyed watching her enemies burn.

The rocks Isikiro had fired up into the air would be difficult to block, but at least they were slower then the previous Earth Bending attacks, it was possible to dodge them.

Using Earthbending, Lau slid the rock platform she was standing on at the moment and sent it backward, skidding across the lava moat. Lau held on to the platform as she sent it backward and used it to safely clear the lava moat. Once it cleared the lava, the rock continued to slide and scrap against normal, solid ground, which eventually caused it to slow down and come to a halt.

Lau was out of the way of the bison sized rocks as the large earth projectiles came crashing into the lava moat, sending lava spraying everywhere. Still, both Isikiro and Lau were to far from the lava for it to actually get caught in any of the splash.

At the moment, a flood of lava was still approaching Isikiro. Even from where she currently was, Lau assisted in the speed of the lava approaching Isikiro and with it, created a huge wave of lava that would in moments soon completely cover Isikiro and drown her in it.

Lau was laughing to herself, even though she couldn't see Isikiro's face, she couldn't help but imagine the look of terror that was probably on the young Earth Bender's face.

In all honesty, Lau wasn't expecting to encounter another lava bender. To find out that Isikiro was one was quite entertaining.

"Unbelievable!" Lau called out as she began to cool and harden the lava wave Isikiro sent toward her, "Who would have thought that I would have ended up fighting another person with a similar ability!?"

With a grin and a laugh, Lau said, "You're only going to make this more fun!"

With a single large arm motion from both arms, Lau sent two cracks in the ground toward Isikiro. As the cracks got closer to Isikiro, the earth began to split wider to reveal a deep ravine with lava at the bottom.

"Show me what you know!" Lau called out, intrigued to see what the young lava bender was capable of.

Lau recognized the technique Isikiro was using. It was a Earth Bending attack, a difficult one to avoid. Simply sidestepping the attack wouldn't work, the user of the technique would still be able to change the aim of the attack to where it would still hurt its target. Simply jumping over it wouldn't work either, the Earth attack usually comes a good 10 or so feet out of the ground. Trying to create a wall wouldn't block the attack either, as it could simply go under the wall.

Perhaps the attack would work on one who was unfamiliar with the technique, but Lau already knew what the technique was, including how to NOT dodge it. Before the fault in the ground Isikiro was using to attack Lau, Lau went ahead and quickly raised the ground at her feet, which propelled Lau and sent her flying into the air. Lau shot herself up backwards at an angle toward a building behind her. Lau was launched at the perfect height that she landed smoothly on the two story building with out getting hurt from the fall.

Standing at the edge of the roof looking down onto the road where Isikiro was, Lau saw that she managed to successfully avoid Isikiro's attack.

All of a sudden, Lau heard explosions in the sky behind her. Looking back, Lau saw that the explosions came from the Xuri Zeppelins that were bombarding the city. From what Lau saw, two of the three Zeppelins had been destroyed and the third surviving airship began to flee the airspace as it wouldn't have been able to handle the Fire Nation Air Fleet on its own.

Lau wasn't sure if the Xuri airships and Tsoi managed to successfully bomb the Fire Nation Palace and if Zhong had managed to successfully assasinate Tarek who was believed to be in the Fire Nation Palace, but the final Xuri airship marked that the invasion would have to be finished now. Lau knew that from all around, the Xuri members would begin to flee the Fire Nation Capital.

Lau sighed to herself, as much as she wanted to end the young Lava Benders in front of her, Lau knew that if she stuck around a bit longer than she should, the other members would leave her behind and Lau alone would have the entire Fire Nation Military upon her.

Still on top of the building looking down on Isikiro, Lau called out, "As much as it pains me, I'm afraid our attack on the city has reached its conclusion!"

Continuing with a smile now on her face, Lau laughed, "I would love to meet up once again, but for your sake, you should probably pray we don't! I say this because if we did, well, I hope you're on good terms with the god of death!"

All of a sudden, Lau preformed a long, rapid series of quick arm movements marking that she was about to preform bending on something.
Lau soon stopped and remarked with a smile, "Just a parting gift."

All of a sudden, the ground began to rumble angrily. During the rumbling, Lau did a small two finger salute and farewelled with a "Later."
With that, Lau turned around and escaped over the other side of the building, fleeing the scene and began to quickly escape the city.

As if to cover her escape, the ground between Isikiro and the building Lau was standing on exploded. Earth and Stone tore and was launched in all directions. Out from the hole in the ground, molten lava was spewing out and spraying anything nearby. By a parting gift, what Lau had done was create a miniature yet violent, volcanic eruption.


[OOC: I hope you don't mind me ending this battle like this. I figured most of the battles should be coming to a close now. In terms of plot, I don't know if you want something once the Fire Nation Invasion ends before I continue the Xuri story.]
