Personality: Kiyoto is a very easily excited, and just as easy to bore young boy with a big thirst for adventure and exploration, feeling very restricted by his water tribe location at times. He’s usually the type to jump right into things that are fun, and barely displays any shyness about himself, being really confident, almost dangerously so in himself. While he’s young and weak, he definitely has a lot of fire and a will to learn waterbending, having a very big love over the cooling feeling of water and it’s properties. From a very young age, Kiyoto was definitely determined in most things and getting his own way, almost spoiled to some extent, not giving up until he got what he wanted in a lot of cases.

However, despite his usual personalities in the presence of older people he definitely shows a lot of respect and admiration in bending masters, and will also not be so confident if he’s clearly outnumbered or outmatched in some sort of fight. …Though he’d definitely try to persuade as many masters out there that he’s the single greatest thing that’s ever happened to the planet and that he’s definitely willing to learn more about his bending or other people’s cultures.

Kiyoto is also VERY easy to frustrate and will often throw tantrums almost at not being able to perform certain advanced techniques, getting disappointed at himself for not being good enough despite being far better than his average age group at what he does.

Abilities: Waterbending ~ For his age, Kiyoto shows a very high capability in the art of waterbending, being able to manipulate water in such a way that people usually show when they’re two-five years older than his age, as he constantly practices the art and spends a lot of free time doing it. He is capable of a lot of intermediate techniques and has a very good feel for how water works and just what’s possible, however pulling off advanced tricks and certain intermediate level things are still quite difficult for the young bender. He is capable of lifting more than his body’s weight of water in one go, though the more he tries to move the harder it is to actually manipulate the way he wants to.

Appearance:
Height: 4’7”.
Weight: Kiyoto is quite thin, having a very good metabolism and not overeating. Pretty much average, if not even slightly below, weight for his age.
Eyes: A very deep, hazel brown colour, matching his mother’s.
Hair: Slightly darker than his eyes, and is quite long for a boy.
Skin: The typical, slightly tanned brown skin that most waterbenders share the trait of. Pretty much exactly like his parent’s skin colour.

Standing at 4’7 and having a very average physique for his age, Kiyoto is a very healthy looking boy. His hair is pretty long for a boy, often times covering his eyes almost completely and making his ears a forgotten memory usually. His skin is the normal colour for a waterbender; a gentle tan, and his eyes and hair are a dark brown, hair being darker than his eyes.

Normally he’s seen sporting the normal casual wear water tribe clothing, blue in colour. He has a very furry necked jacket, with sleeves that go down to his wrists, almost a bit too far. On his hands he has fingerless gloves which he wears since they’re enough to keep his hands warm, but also let him ‘feel’ the water easier somehow, he says. He has thick water tribe pants and leather, strapped boots which go up to his shins, as well as sometimes some metallic knee and elbow protection as a means of defence. Not specifically HIS, but he wears them since they’re cool to him. And if he was to leave the water tribe at some point he’d take them with him.

Around his neck he has a string with a single tooth from a wild water tribe animal attached to it which he got from his father, signifying courage.

Weaponry & Other Gear:

Item Name Shin and elbow protection pads. (Not commonly with him, unless outside of water tribe)
Materials: Metal.
Description: Standard kind of protection pads for protecting waterbenders’ knees and elbows from shock damage. Made of very sturdy material; difficult to break and can definitely take a few nasty impacts in exchange for the bones of the wearers.

History: Kiyoto was born into an average family as a second child in the Southern Water Tribe. His parents were caring and always there for him as he grew up, giving him a very good upbringing with great manners and respect. At a very young age, he showed the ability to waterbend, much to his mother and sister’s interest. He was very intrigued by the water, and loved to make it do what he wanted, finding it to be a really fun way to spend time and play around, often experimenting in ways that his mind saw fit.

As soon as he was old enough to actually take things in properly and learn, however, his mother decided to teach him some waterbending basics as well as his sister every now and then who showed some slightly more advanced techniques, not expecting Kiyoto to pick up on them at all and just showing them as a means of bragging rights, almost. Much to their surprise, he picked it up really quickly like a kid picks up crayons, and began to develop his waterbending skills rapidly, becoming very talented for his age.

His father wasn’t too big on waterbending and was slightly disappointed that their son was also a waterbender, but still loved both the siblings equally as much as he should, and oftentimes tried to get Kiyoto interested in the idea of hunting and protecting things, though to not much success. He did show some interest, but not nearly as much as he did in the art of waterbending.

Because of his sheer determination which he seemed to get from his father, and his almost natural fluidity he seemingly got from his mother, he got recognition from a few waterbending teachers and learned from them, taking things to a next level and besting people that were older than him.

However, the very slight recognition from people wasn’t quite enough, and ever since he’s just been on a mission to become the greatest waterbender he can possibly be, and wants to explore the world and see it for what it is, outside of his actual tribe someday.

Still living with his parents and sister, however, he hasn’t got a huge chance in that happening yet. Though, he definitely still tries and persists, seeking out guidance from other waterbenders he can find and also flaunts his abilities wherever he can, being extremely confident and cocky.

((I despite making backstories oh my god help what am I doing I hope this is good enough as a remake, I can’t help but feel there are plot holes everywhere.))

Kiyoto	“Let’s… try this again…” Crunch, crunch, crunch… The snow underneath the young waterbender’s feet shifted with every single movement he made, hands outstretched and palms facing the water. Kiyoto used his left hand quickly to brush his hair out of his eyes so he could see and concentrate on what was going on before him. He was mumbling to himself quite aggressively, almost, and began to bend the water very fluidly, lifting up a large mass of the water with ease. Something he really struggled with was the water whip, something that he just couldn’t get the hang of. Moving water so fast from one direction to another was a lot more complicated than it looked to him. He moved the water bit by bit, standing firmly on the ground, in a pose that looked sturdy and prepared, and he moved his hands really fast and quickly, forward and backwards, the mass of water contracting slightly and quickly surging forwards. However it didn’t make the satisfying crack of a whip and Kiyoto knew he messed it up, and before he could vent that bit of frustration, to make matters worse he got splashed by the backlash of water, soaked completely. “GH-STUPID WATER!” He kicked some snow with force, sending up a white cloud of it. “Why can’t you JUST do a simple water whip?!” He said out loud to himself, knowing, almost praying that no-one was around to see him mess up and shout angrily. Sat down, sulked, and quickly bended the water out of his clothes before it made too much of an impact on him. He threw it onto the floor, and grumbled, arms folded, staring at his feet. “Stupid… waterbending. Mrehh.” He got up, and looked towards his home, before glancing back to the pool of water. “I’ll be back. And I WILL do the water whip!” He said, taking mental note that it was his destiny to come back and learn that move in that spot. For now though, he was hungry and tired, and it was late. Best that he headed home before his parents got worried or something.
