Streets of Gaoling

Gysu had left the Traveler's Tale only moments before. They were all to brash and hotheaded. He simply wanted to get out there and find the best area to go to. He figured that Xue's training would be impossible since she was a waterbender. So, Ba Sing Se would probably be this best place to be for the time being. Other than that, he figured that he should go into the mercenary work again. At least until the Earth Queen brought the bounties back up. He then remembered that the fire nation would most likely be attacking by now. He had warned her. The thought of leaving the Earth Nation still tempted him, as a few beggars came towards him. They then asked him if he had any money. Gysu explained to them that he had no money, despite the fact that he had so much alcohol on his breath. When he had left he decided that it might be a good ideal to sleep in the streets instead of out in the swamps. After all, anyone could be in there waiting for an unlucky passerby. Gysu found a nice quite spot and slept the night away.

The next morning Gysu awakened with a very full bladder. He instantly took off running towards the swamps so that he could urinate to his hearts desire. Once he had finished, he thought about the night before. He realized that he was too weak to survive this new environment. The strong survive and the weak perish, that was the natural order of things. He knew that he needed to perfect his style in order to openly challenge the Dai Li. The problem lied with the method of training. All other ways were meant for traditional earth benders. His style was taken from watching water benders practice. He had already perfected that style as much as his capabilities would allow him. What he needed to do now was to learn another style from another element, and learn from there. Air was definitely out of the question, they were natural opposites. So Gysu figured that fire would be the next best choice. So the problem now, is that there were no fire benders in the Earth Kingdom that weren't fighting in a war. His next destination would be the Fire Nation. So Gysu decided that it was time to head for the coast and find a smuggler ship. They would probably help him if he could provide the coin. Gysu then created a Lyre from the earth around him. Gysu then used his hair to create the strings needed to produce the sound. After a while of tuning, the crudely made instrument was completed. He then went back into town and went back inside The Traveler's Tale to ask about whether he could acquire a position as a means of entertainment for the customers. The owner simply told him "You've saved this shop of mine several times from thugs and bandits. How could I refuse? If you could also keep things from getting to rowdy in here as well, I'll pay you extra." Gysu was extremely relieved to hear that last part. Despite the commotion from last night, Gysu hardly ever made trouble for himself as to not burden others with himself. Xue needed help last night, it only made sense to pull the suspicion away from her and onto himself. "Thank you, Moria. I assure you that last night was a once in a lifetime deal for me." Moria nodded, "I understand, Gysu. Despite your best efforts of keeping under the nose of the Dai Li, they always seem to trouble you." GYsu nodded and went to the corner and began to play the Lyre, the sound of its melody combined with his voice was a powerful sound. His voice was as deep as the earth, and as soft as water. The emotions sprung from his singing brought the noise down for once in The Traveler's Tale, all listened to the song unsure of what it meant or why he was suddenly singing. All they knew was that he was there, and his voice was beautiful. Once he had finished, Gysu stood up and stated that he will take requests. And from there, the people of Gaoling had a new favorite minstrel.

Dai sauntered into The Travelers Tale all half cocked and wanting to hopefully in the long run get into a bar fight. He ordered a weak drink and chugged the entire thing when he heard a horrible Lyre being played by someone very good. It made it sound kind of airy and soft like an airbender and he wasn't fond of most of them although he techniqually was one. the man said he was taking requests. Dai ordered another drink and walked up to the man on the lyre and stated "I don't like that song play another one and walked away how about come marching home, do you know that one?"
