The air of the night was crisp and frigid in the darkness of the still hour. Light shone not down from the sky as wispy shadows of clouds blackened the stars. Even the moon, in all her radiant brilliance, dared to do more than peak through the fleeting gaps in space to sneak a glance at her eternal partner below.
Showers of water cascaded from the unlit heavens in even, constant sheets, drowning the silence in disquiet calm. The ever presence patter of rain emanated throughout all of Gaoling, coating the cobble in a mirror of infinity, naught to reflect but the endless shadows above. The very essence that created the mirror broke the surface with each minute amount of water, synthesizing an vast ocean of fluctuating darkness, magnified by-
Zai shook his head as the cool rain eased his aged scars. "Dammit, Zai... Don't get all poetic on me now," clearly he said this to himself, unwary of any bystander who may hap. But he chose his location here in Gaoling so, a dark, abandoned fountain-- left in disuse despite its proximity to the bustling-by-day streets of the developed town. Such a location was sanctum to a man such as the vagrant mercenary; if only the soothing, nearly poetry-worthy scene didn't inspire Zai to reflect on his life so. Least he'd be able to enjoy the cooled drops against his bare skin, though arguably more scars laced his torso than aught else.
He laid slackly against the rigid fountain, ever capable of finding comfort upon or against the earth. By chance this could very well be his only true semblance to the common benders who happened upon being born of such bending. The half-clothed merc tarried little on the thought, and instead pondered to himself queries of his experiences and circumstance. "Back where you started, then..." Rock comforted the base of his head as he tilted it dorsally, catching the least modest amount of rain against the mark that equally stained his past as it did his skin.
He remained reticent, now, allowing the natural sensations to consume his exposed, alabaster form. Athletic muscles relaxed in the microscopic masseuse and her icy touches, only the waist and below did not gain rights to the embrace. Such was regrettably shielded by thick Kiyoshi leathers and cloth, ever a reminder of a present unrecognized, and a future never to be. One could wonder if the rain were a replacement for the tears left unshed by the could-have-been hero. Or maybe his apathy had been true even in his origins.
It all came down to the fact that Lee Hakota-Zai no longer lent but apathy to nearly everything about.

| As fun as it was to burn things and watch things explode in the heat of the day, Zulera found that like most waterbenders, she was a creature of the night. There was nothing like a dimly lit rainy evening for the avatar to feel the most at home.
the streets were mostly deserted, and it was dark anyways. the rain felt good on her face and in her hair, which she had gotten into a habit of wearing down lately. deciding that it was late enough and deserted enough, Zulera stripped completely from the waist up, leaning back to let the rain caress her skin. if anyone was in the area, they'd get a nice view unless they were prudes or something. Zulera had a nice rack anyways.
she kept walking without any encounters until she came across an old fountain... now, water during a drizzle of water was pretty cool, even if the fountain was derelict. She noticed someone sitting there, but that didn't faze her. in fact, she recognized the man as she got closer. in fact, she sat right next to him, because she recognized him.
"well... just the man I thought I'd never see again." she chuckled. her tone was soft, as if she too cared for the quiet intimacy of the moment, be it between the two of them, or simply between nature and the warrior, and between nature and the Avatar. even if Zai did not respond, or even acknowledge her presence, she was still content where she was. she hadn't forgotten the last time they had met, nor had she forgotten her own (mis?)deeds since then.
well, she knew that Zai wasn't really one to judge, just as she wasn't. she was amoral enough as things stood. she leaned back, letting her face and chest take the hits from the raindrops, and it felt good as it caressed her smooth skin and her toned body. if only she could do this more often.

Zai's joy of the rain held no disruption from a voice known to his ears as it's words softly waded through the pattering about them. It might not have been a tone oft heard by the scarred man, he recognized it as if he anticipated hearing it at least once more.
"well... just the man I thought I'd never see again." Zai smiled feintly at the Avatar's worlds; while they had not met often, he still held a strange favor for her presence and it secretly soothed him for her to have seated herself beside him. It took little more than a glance to identify she'd left most of her body revealed already. Being the unmindful man he was, such comforted him more than aught else and he soon brought his arm gently around her shoulders while they enjoyed the coolness of the cascade.
While he did so, he pondered the silence of the moment, and if he should leave her unanswered. Perhaps the reticent moment should remain so, thus he merely grinned in response, turning his twisted visage skyward again to resume his relaxation-- though now, as any man would like, enhanced with a woman close. Zai, however, was rarely one to advance a situation, always comfortable to stay wherever comfortable, and so made little more effort than to delicately pull Zulera closer so she might be against him now. Of course if she were to lack resistance to the somewhat intimate notion, that is.

| She sat there waiting for an answer which never came. at the same time, the prospect didn't bother her as much as she thought it would. if anything, the silence seemed to speak for itself. when he wrapped his arm around her, she did the same, leaning against him as he pulled her in closer. she shook her head as she let the rain caress her face and flow down her hair and down her bare chest. it felt quite nice. She also knew that Zai was not the type to make advances in a situation, but at the same time, she wasn't about to tackle him here and now and do a deed. If anything, she'd take it slowly like last time. the hand around his shoulder softly touched it, her fingers playing along various lines of skin, bone, or muscle. his own touch on her bare skin was still as relaxing as ever, and she almost hoped that he knew the way she hinted at these sorts of things from their little romp last time. "you still have the greatest touch." she giggled in little more than a whisper, her free hand taking his. she wanted another massage from him--quite badly. she wasn't about to throw away all inhibition to get it, but she would put effort into trying either way.

Hakota enjoyed many small pleasures in life, but he often found himself privy to the sins of sloth, that is relaxing and enjoying such peaceful situations as the one before him now. Given as much, he stayed rather laid-back and free of any real drive to progress much of anything, even as Zulera put her arm about him, her fingers brushing his exposed, scarred skin across his shoulder.
"You still have the greatest touch," she said with a giggle, taking his hand in hers.
Zai chuckled, entwining their fingers as he caught another glimpse of her. "Well I've come to find you the only one who's skin is worthwhile to touch." His arm about her began to guide his hand across her skin, taking in how her flesh reacted to the rain, his fingers never once lacking the strangely gentle yet firm touch.
He enjoyed looking over her as much as he did feeling her, almost as if every time he glanced there was something new to observe, something he could admire. The strangest factor was how Zai really hadn't experienced such proclivities for any other; he was oddly enchanted by Zulera, and he'd not go so far as falling head-over-heels for anyone, but still the attraction was there-- much to Hakota's curiosity.

| "well." she chuckled. "I guess I should say I'm flattered. thank you." she kind of was. she leaned her head back and relaxed though, letting his fingers caress her bare skin. he knew her muscular structure, and she knew he did. the only movement from her was her chest going in and out. the rain poured over her face and down her chin, just as it caressed her breasts as it ran down her stomach to her waist.
Zulera's breasts were very exposed right now, but Zai knew full well that this was not a hint of any kind, just that she didn't care about exposing them. occasionally her eyes opened to glance over at Zai, but she always closed them again, not because he was hard on the eyes... she didn't even get bothered by his disfigured side. she thought it was interesting, in fact. it was just because when one tilts their head back when rain is falling, the water tends to hit one's eyes if one leaves them open. thus, Zulera brought her eyelids around her eyes to protect them from the rain.
"and you know what I like," she chuckled, "I guess I might as well just 'fess up right now that I think you should keep this up." she referenced his caress of her skin. she was a sucker for that kind of thing.

Zai chuckled as well, returning his own visage skywards to receive the rain. It grew thicker now, falling in sheets to drive all but two into refuge. Said duo were still close together, their collective warmth driving away the cold grasps of the night and its waters.
"And you know what I like," she said as he caressed her, admitting shamelessly how she desired his touch. He liked her outright approaches, and even might have gone so far as admiration of such. Either way, his fingers found themselves on her high-shoulder, the base of the neck as his digits stole away the tension there.
He had indeed come to discover she enjoyed even the slighter pleasures of flesh, and admittedly he enjoyed granting such. It was merely who he was; he often discovered he cared less for his own than that of those about him-- all in spite of his more selfish tendencies. He put forth no more thought on it as he usually did, likely to further avoid accepting the feelings that he knew were taking root in him in ignorance of his lack of experience with the more poetic side of feelings. Anger, hate, despair, isolation; he knew these well as they had shaped his life up to this point. Yet admiration, attraction and attachment were seeding within him. It confused him even at the most basic level.
But all that really mattered now was the moment, as it always should. It was relaxing and comfortable, even natural. Just two enjoying one-another's company as much as the weather that they found themselves in.

| While Zulera was fond of all four bending disciplines, she still had an affinity and attachment to water, her native element. This rang true even when it was pouring down her face and her exposed upper half. at this point she doubted that she could even put her top back on even if she wanted to, since wet clothes were hard to pull on or off. at the same time, she didn't want to move anyways.
she took another deep breath, exhaling in a relaxing sigh as his fingers relieved the tension in her neck. it had not been terribly tense to begin with, but there was never such a thing as too much tension relief--not to Zulera at least.
she inched closer to him till she was almost pressing into him, also almost leaning against him with the exception of her head, which was still leaning back, her face getting pummelled by the rain. she enjoyed the way the water ran down her face, and down her hair. it was part of the reason she liked wearing it loose nowadays. she liked the way water ran through it, and the way its weight gave a gentle pull at her scalp with how she was leaned back.
times like this usually had Zulera musing about herself and her identity, since whether she liked it or not, she would always be one of a kind in a very noticeable way. However, she had also learned that this did not stop her from having a life of her own, and this misconception had originally been part of her rebellious attitude. here and now though, she was more just contemplating mentally that, for all the glory and fame that the name and identity of the Avatar often got, that at times like this she was simply another nameless woman mingling with other normal people in day-to-day actions.
okay, so maybe stripping topless in a rainstorm in a not necessarily private area wasn't exactly normal, but that was beside the point. it was more the concept that underneath all that spiritual and elemental mumbo-jumbo, she was just another beautiful woman, relaxing and enjoying the moment, including her company and the weather that was throwing itself at them.

Zai's hand lowered it's reach, moving to her shoulders and upper-most back now, dancing with her muscles to sooth her. He knew of her affinity for rain, it was apparent by how relaxed she was in such weather; he could feel it now at the tip of his fingers in her every muscle. It was strange, and sometimes curious how the body could say far more than words, could elaborate near any story if examined or felt. Even now a motion hinted on desire as Zulera put mere inches between them. He shifted lightly, delicately pulling her closer so that their torsos made full contact. Whether she leaned upon him after such was her own choice.
It wasn't Zai's nature to feel attached, or to even feel comfortable when anything but alone. It was this natural fact that made him curious as to his comfort around Zulera. No other woman had really been anything but a mere single moment only really fit for his indulgence. But with this one, he felt something more, like a more mutual comfort than just a satisfaction of primal desires. Though that was, of course, always present in any man or woman.
the fountain was filling now, its waters clearing as the dirt and dust settled at the stoney bed. Its waters caught the wet ends of Zulera's hair as her head leaned back. Zai watched this with that strange intrigue of his ever examining the most minute occurrences.

| Zulera's body was one whose motions made her thoughts very clear. her form, which was literally half-covered, her waist being the line between clothing below or bare skin above. She was very relaxed and motionless, with the only major movement coming from her torso as it slowly expanded and contracted with her breaths.
the water gave Zulera's soft skin an even smoother feel to it, and the cascading rain followed the lines of certain bumps and features of her limbs and torso as gravity pulled it ever closer to the ground. this flow was disrupted only slightly as Zai pulled Zulera closer, but she did not resist this. in fact, Zulera was so relaxed at the moment that Zai could have very well hoisted her up and carried her off, and she wouldn't have even made an effort to grab her discarded clothing, and her arms would have just hung limp. granted, she doubted that that was going to happen, given that both of them were almost sinfully comfortable where they were as things stood, but it went to show just how deep the avatar's state of relaxation was.
The Avatar felt a sudden difference near the tips of her hair, which was hanging back and into the fountain--perhaps it was filling up a bit. Frankly, she didn't mind it, and wouldn't have even if they weren't mostly soaked to the bone anyways. her far hand felt at her side, and for a brief moment, she glanced to her left and realized that she had moved enough since she had sat down that her top, as well as her shirt and everything else she usually adorned her upper body with--were just barely out of her reach.
...not like that mattered or anything. she was practically snuggled up against him, although most of her chest was still exposed to the rain given that her back was somewhat arched and her head was completely leaned back. Zai knew how to spot Zulera's signs of comfort, and with how many she was giving off, it was hard to miss.

With their bodies now against one another, Zai found the warmth in the frigid weather a strange contrast that enhanced the already sinful levels of comfort he felt, and that he knew from merely a glance Zulera felt as well.
Zai's gaze found itself following the pathways of water flowing down her body. It touched her jaw and bosom, traversing her breasts to he toned stomach before being drained by her clothing. The aqua traced her very contour in small streams and random droplets. It tantalized the analytical gaze of his, and he couldn't help but stare, his arm about her still.
A thought caught in the web that was the mind, and Hakota pondered something of inquiry. Was it this slothlike nature of theirs that kept them from really having a blatant connection, or was it their unsure approach to it? Honestly, so long as they enjoyed moments such as these, did it really matter? A vagrant without much possessions nor experience of love easily thought it didn't, and he rested his head upon the fountain's lip next to hers, glad there was one who could equally caress his scar without disgust or repulsion as the unbiased rain.

| Zulera enjoyed the warmth, especially in contrast to the cool rain. the latter was not cold, but it was an interesting contrast to the warmth she felt form their skin touching. while her eyes remained closed most of the time, she occasionally peeked over at him, occasionally also noticing that he was staring. she never minded it, especially not from him. she knew that he liked her not just for her body, and so her concern on the subject was basically zero.
She did sort of wonder how deep their relationship went. she was content with it the way it was, and he seemed the same way, but was this truly the case? it seemed that both of them were fine with the pace they had taken. if it was just a one-night stand--well, two-night stand, was that okay? Zulera was mostly asking herself that, as she was not looking for anyone else's approval or disapproval. well, it wasn't the first time... but still. Zai was different, as he had told her she was. still... it was kind of confusing. she decided not to worry about it. they both knew how to get what they wanted from each other. in fact, Zulera was about to try just that.
"I miss your touch." she whispered, smiling, and without moving her head. "'ldja mind giving me a refresher course on it?" it was just a request and not anything even close to a demand. if he declined, she wouldn't push the issue--okay, well, not too hard anyways--and she'd just go back to laying there. however, she did miss the way he had massaged her, including her torso, breasts and all. as much as that was what she wanted, however, her request was not so much suggestive as much as it was simply a basic desire for a little massage. as for the 'creative' way it came out... that was just how she decided to word it. there was no hidden message to it other than "I'd really like it if you gave me a massage".

"I miss your touch," she said quietly, requesting for Zai to reenact his skills with touch on her. He pondered this for a moment, wondering how she meant her request to be responded to. He shrugged off any real sexual suggestions that could easily be derived from such, and decided that a public place wasn't really somewhere to mirror their earlier... Engagement.
He pulled her comfortably onto his lap, facing him. He knew she was too relaxed to resist any way he might move her. Now with her in his lap, her breasts against his own chest, his hands found their way to her muscles upon her back, massaging deeply, yet gently her flesh and muscles with that excessively knowledgeable touch that knew every fiber of muscle and just how to touch it to paralyze, harm, relax, or stimulate it. Only the latter two were available now. Zai obviously had no intentions to harm her, though knew she was trusting enough to allow the potentially lethal fingers so close.
But such was the irony of a relationship between the Avatar and someone who should have been her sworn enemy given his expertise. But here they were, despite the severe contrast of their existence, enjoying the rain and one another.

| Zulera's request was not anything sexual in nature, though she wouldn't have minded that if it had happened. but, they were in a public place, even if it was a deserted public place. perhaps moving to a better, more private place after a while would be better. But, that would be later--after they had been in this position for long enough, and that was still a ways away.
he knew her too well, knowing that she let all of her guard down when he was in his grasp, and the avatar, the master of all four elements, was as vulnerable as a helpless child in this state--the only difference was that it was voluntary. per usual, she made no resistance when he moved her, the only resistance coming from the friction of her wet clothing on her lower half. even as relaxed as she was, her muscular structure was still firm and well-built as always.
she let out a long, relaxing sigh as he kneaded and caressed her back, enjoying the soothing rain as well as Zai's soothing hands upon her skin. the combination of the two was almost enough to make the avatar melt right into his arms. he just made it so easy for her to relax, and this was one of many things she loved about it.
While she didn't entirely dismiss the thought of finding a deserted alleyway or something in the dimly lit town, that thought was pushed aside for the moment while she relaxed and enjoyed the moment. she laid her head down on Zai's shoulder, closing her eyes and giving another contented sigh. the rain washed through her hair, letting it stick against some of Zai's skin as the water flowed over it. this was bliss.

The moment was comfortable and relaxing, and Zai even began thinking if it needed to go anywhere else. While his body clearly craved more -something easily felt to the beautiful woman in his lap- he felt that he didn't need more. The moment was fine as is, but more than just one thing in him that wanted something more... Intimate. His hands lowered themselves down her back, massaging lower, more sensitive areas now beneath the expert fingers.
His lips found her neck, kissing her skin, and even enjoying the taste of the rain mixed with Zulera's. It was nothing obsessive, just another little detail Zai fancied about Zulera; something he found happened more and more with each of their meetings. He took in her every detail. The look of her form, so relaxed and willing; the smell of her hair, even sweet to Zai through the rain; the sound of her breaths as he accomplished the relief of the already stressless muscles; the softness of her skin under his fingertips. Thinking upon it now, he wondered if he actually was obsessed, but dismissed it as being unusually attached to this woman.

| It was almost strange the unique way these two interacted with each other. they could say so much while saying so little, and that was one of the many aspects of the relationship that Zulera enjoyed. it was funny how they were content with wherever they were, but always seemed fine with more. Zulera felt the same way, but also pleasured enough from the moment that she didn't feel like breaking it.
In what little light there was, Zulera's unique electric-blue eyes seemed to glow slightly--not the Avatar-state glow, but they seemed to have a radiance of their own--when they were open at least. most of the time at this point they were little more than slits. anyone who approached them from behind Zulera would have gotten a plain view of the elaborate tribal tattoos that adorned the avatar's back, but in the dark, and given that Zulera's chest was towards Zai, there was no one to see them now.
All things said, it continued to intrigue the little Avatar how sensitive her skin seemed to be to his touch. he had obviously had experience in doing what he did, and also with her body in particular, but that fact that she was so vulnerable and yet so secure in his embrace was an irony that did not slip her mind.
she let out a deep relaxing sigh when he started kissing her skin. he was familiar with her reactions and knew easily that she very much enjoyed it. she enjoyed being touched; caressed; and she would always expose as much of her neck as she could when he started kissing it. his lips always felt interesting on her skin in her opinion. she knew he was watching her every reaction, and at this point, loved it. he'd always react to her reactions, causing a never-ending chain of motion between to two, so to speak. it was something Zulera loved, even given that both of them were bare from the waist up out in the middle of a nighttime rainstorm. that aspect, including the water's smooth caress, was not forgotten either.

Her eyes, their radiance consumed Zai's thoughts, making even his motions pause a brief moment. Eternally it passed his mind just how brilliant and beautiful Zulera -and her every detail he'd discovered thus far- was to him. Her visage did not need the Avatar state to give her the grand glow she had so passively. It all made Zai only feel more for her, but his mind was lingering too long, even while his lips felt her soft skin, and his chest the feel of her breast, even the soft touch of her nipples were apparent to him.
The mind was a terrible place, and he enjoyed moments like this for even the fact that they fended off thoughts and feelings from the past. The paint, the blood, a shining crimson length of steel; it was on a night with this sheets of rain almost exact to this one. But a kind idea crossed him, and he jumped at the opportunity to further enjoy the moment, instead of let the past lay waste to it. He wrapped his arm tightly around Zulera's lean, toned form, resting her weigh on his other arm as he lifted her, raising them from the ground. The journey from there as he carried her comfortably in his arms was short, to the point of not being a trip at all.
He stepped over the lip of the old fountain's wall, the water there now at a height to act much like a bath. With the fall of his foot, the dust on the bottom of the fountain bed began to cloud outwards, but with a second step in it all was wrenched back to the bottom, solidifying into a soft, comfortable sand. The water was colder than the drops that revived the dead architecture, but the warmth they had cultivated in their embrace was enough to fend the chill as Zai lowered them into its clear depths. Even so close to full it only just peaked their shoulders.
All too easy, it was for Zai that he couldn't help but take the moment to take Zulera's lips unto his own. And for some reason unknown to the both of them, it seemed more sincere than any before.

| There was so much about the moment that she explicitly enjoyed, that she didn't even know where to begin in her mental processing of it all. perhaps it was the rain that made her bare skin seem more alluring, or it was a combination of its caress as it washed over the well-toned, naked features of her upper body. Adding in his touch, both with his fingers as well as his lips (particularly the latter), and it became abundantly obvious how she felt about the matter. very little else was on her mind at the moment, and thus it took her a full 3.5 seconds to register that he had lifted her off the ground. habitually, she reached for her top, though failed to reach it; she didn't want to leave it behind, wherever they were going.
though their "trip" ended before it even began. all Zai had done was step over the fountain, and then lowered the two of them into the water, despite both of them still being half-dressed. Zulera was a woman of simple pleasures. while she was not necessarily impressed with every little thing in existence, there were a few things that were very simple in their nature, that she very much enjoyed. the feeling of water on her body was one of them, but also a simple touch of her skin, be it with hands, fingertips, or even (and especially) lips, was part of a series of easy ways to pacify the avatar.
it was in tranquil times like this that Zulera also stopped to realize the status of her relationship with Zai. it seemed that wherever they were, they were on the same page, but it was hard to tell where they were, exactly. she liked his appearance, and likes his personality. it seemed both of them had had less-than-savory pasts, to put it lightly, and yet, when they were together... there was something different about them. Well, Zulera noticed that there was, anyways. still, it wasn't a bad thing, and it certainly wasn't a bad thing when his lips met hers. ehre they were, submerged to their shoulders in an old fountain, half-dressed, and yet there was something about this meeting of lips that made it feel different than all the others. as was usual, they said nothing at all, and still said so much.

| Surely the situation might have seemed fairly odd; a topless couple sitting in an old fountain, letting the rain and water pour and cascade over their smooth skin, but Zulera didn't find anything too odd about it. Then again, she kind of just did whatever she pleased, without much concern about what others thought. It was for that reason that she was utterly undeterred about any who stood in the way of her attempts to lead the world into a new industrial age.
But that was not exactly what was on her mind at the moment anyways. What *was* on her mind, was something a bit more intimate, and involved the man in front of her with which she was sharing this moment. She was hesitant to break the silence, however--not from fear, but from enjoying the silence too much. However, after a while, she realized that it was for the best if it was done.
"so tell me..." she spoke in little more than a whisper. Her gentle, almost motherly-sounding voice did keep the tone rather calm and sweet, after all. "where do you suppose this is all going? I mean... the two of us?" It was not like she banked her whole life on this relationship or anything, but it did intrigue her enough that she had to ask, Hopefully the question would not turn the situation too awkward.

The question caught Hakota off guard, being in sharp contrast to the usual silence they enjoyed as an appeal of their encounter. The genuine nature of his kiss was even unsettling to him; he hadn't kissed anyone in such a way since... He shook the thought from his mind, choked the flame of it to an ember-- there, still warm and burning, but not in sight.
"I..." Where were they going? He hadn't consulted such introspect in some time. His life often called for a lack of planning and expectations; such was just the natural order as of yet. And the lingering thoughts in the back of his mind threatened to burn him as her pondered the question.
On one hand, something was sparking familiarity in him, feelings he remembered from better times, though a darker version of himself; he still worried facing such loss again, entrusting feelings to another so willfully would doubtlessly bring both fear of what was to come and a scarring fear of loss. On another, she was the Avatar and could handle herself, and certainly knew what she wanted from this --at least more perhaps than Zai did. Still, Anash had been-- no, he couldn't allow himself to think of it.
So much, though, reminded him of those times, and how he was still stuck on what he'd done, letting those events echo with indefinite resolve within him; he'd only ever touched one other woman in such a way, only ever shared such moments with his late wife. Yet, he was here, letting himself indulge in another when his memories were still lingering. It betrayed his memory of her, and it wasn't fair if Zulera wanted more from them than this.
Undoubtedly his hesitation was becoming apparent, and even his steady, masterful fingers began to shake against Zulera's incomparable skin. "I couldn't say... Where is it you wish it to go?" The question was asked in genuine; he was now all too concerned if his own limitations would affect this relationship's outcome.
He had always been so concerned with trying to forget his past, that it seemed to only bear greater fangs when it mattered.

| Zulera listened to his few words, and realized his varying emotions. They had not told each other everything about themselves, but at the same time, she figured that they would do so if their relationship blossomed into something more than this, or they'd go their own separate ways and never say anything about them again, so she did not have too many reservations about her secrets.
On the other hand, with all of the relationships that had involved her partners disappearing on her, this was one that she enjoyed quite a bit. She personally would have liked it to go farther, but on the other hand, were they stable enough for it? Zulera might not have suffered PTSD of any kind apart from the story behind her morbid phobia of heights, but her mind was certainly not a firm and stable one, prone instead to wild dreams and ideas.
But, she had moved on from the past and looked to the future. Nothing exemplified this better than her current ambition--to start a technological revolution. But, she was not one to shove her values on others. if Zai could not get over his past... Zulera could help, but only he could make the final step.
"To be honest?" Zulera said softly, "I... kind of hoped it could continue. If neither of us are ready for the commitment aspect, however, I would still not mind remaining friends... perhaps with benefits if you would like." she chuckled softly. "But..." she put her hands on his jawbones, "you know me. I'm about the least judgmental person on the planet, ironic as that might sound... so perhaps it is up to you ultimately... since I will flow with just about anything." She couldn't figure a way to word it better, so that would have to do.
