Doesn't take no for an answer

Although they'd been connected in every possible way earlier, Rui couldn't help but to jump as he cupped her breast. She shivered as his fingers passed over her exposed nipple. She continued to chat with Zevran, a small stutter in her voice due to his intimate touch, "Y-You talk like t-this is your profession!" She meant this comment harmlessly, and giggled when she said it. This man was just too good to be true. Nonetheless, Rui scooted closer to Zevran, pressing her forehead to his chest. She held on to the hand that was caressing her, enjoying the warmth that was spreading through her.

Stifling a yawn, Rui realized suddenly how tired she was. The young woman knew she needed sleep, but she felt that when she woke up, all of this would disappear. Despite this, she allowed her eyelids to flutter shut. When she spoke again, an edge of tiredness was in her voice,"A massage would be nice.." She trailed off, her usual rapid heartbeat becoming more relaxed.

Beams of sunlight shone through the lone window, causing the eyelids of young Rui to flutter. Once, twice, and finally on the third time the waterbender opened her eyes, letting out an deep, abysmal groan. Why she'd never invested in a pair of curtains was unknown to Rui, but damn was she regretting it now. Stretching out her long, cocoa colored arms, Rui yawned. She peered over to the other side of the bed, where a devilishly handsome man lay fast asleep. Rui considered waking him up, but soon decided against it. I'm going to surprise him with some breakfast.. I think I'm going to make some pastries! Her stomach growled angrily, causing Rui to blush slightly.

Rolling out of bed, Rui meandered over to her vanity. She looked over her naked body, admiring the gentle curves and silkiness of her skin. Moving her thick locks behind her back, Rui tied her hair up in a loose ponytail. She walked over to her closet, picked out a plain silk house robe, and tied it loosely about her curvy waist. Rui took another gander at the handsome Zevran, enjoying the pleasant sight of his partially exposed body. A smile crept on her face as last night's activities raced through her mind. Rui coughed slightly, pushing the thoughts to the back of her head before she became engulfed in them. The waterbender walked out of the room, closing the door gently behind her.

Rui walked into her rather bright kitchen, assessing the 'damage.' Although she'd cleaned up for the most part, there were obvious signs of her cooking; random splatters on the counters, as well as left over herb bits that had been of no use to Rui. Sighing, Rui grabbed a rag from underneath the sink and began to clean. After she'd finished this up, the young woman threw the rag into the sink. Rui grabbed out several pans and placed them on the stove. Meandering over to the fridge, she pulled out several delicacies included eggs, pork, and many quaint-looking fruits. Her father had given to her dozens of strange ingredients when he'd returned from a monthly trip from Ba Sing Se. She turned the heat of her small, black stove on low and began cooking a simple breakfast that consisted of eggs and fried pork.

Rui jumped a little at the sound of Zevran's voice, dropping her spatula into the pan of eggs. She quickly grabbed it out, burning her hand a bit as she did so. "Oww.. Erh, good morning!" Turning around to look at him, Rui flashed Zevran a smile full of warm benevolence. The waterbender turned the stove down and then proceeded to trot over to Zevran. Standing on her tip toes, the young woman pecked Zevran on the cheek almost like a wife would do to her husband.

A blush crept on to her cheeks as Rui returned to cooking. She cut up two rather large fruits, placing them neatly on a sort of platter that she'd inherited after her had passed away. The warm smile remained on Rui's face as she carried the platter over to the table. "I started making some breakfast for us--the eggs and pork will be ready in a couple of minutes." Trotting back over to the stove, Rui continued to sift the eggs and meat around gently with her spatula. "What're your plans for today?" She wondered absentmindedly.

A smile captured Rui's delicate features as he clasped her shoulder. "I've no problems with that!" Rui's face flushed at her over enthusiastic response. They'd been together for approximately three days, though it had felt like a lifetime. Rui enjoyed it nonetheless, realizing she could really get used to having him around. She continued to concentrate on her cooking, occasionally flipping the crackling pieces of meat. Rui reached up to a cupboard in front of her stove, pulling out a simple plate to lay the meat and eggs on.


After everything had finished cooking, Rui carefully placed everything on to the plate and carried it over to the table. She pulled out her simple wooden chair, looking up at Zevran after she'd done so. "Well, breakfast is served!"

Rui continued to eat, her chewing careful and thoughtful. She appeared to be lost in thought, but in reality was just unsure of what to talk about. Rui idly wondered if she should mention the events last night. Should I congratulate him? I don't think I'm supposed to mention it.. What would I even say? 'Job well done?' Rolling her eyes to herself, the young woman brought another bite of food to her mouth. After swallowing, she cleared her throat as if about to speak.

She spoke carefully and deliberately, trying to hide the small amount of anxiety in her voice. "So.. About last night--"Rui trailed off, not exactly knowing where to go with her sentence. I shouldn't expect anything.. It was just a fling! Right? She didn't continue her sentence. Instead, an awkward tension filled the air around her.
