The Shades	The Shade had slipped into his true world, from the boring doldrums of the mortal plain. He was a black blob currently, he signed slightly and morphed into his world form, which in the spirit world had two white strips for a reason unknown the malevolent spirit. He began walking through the ethereal forest, not really doing anything. He came upon a small pond, which he lay down next to, content to rest and recover, he sighed, in this world he was a lot more peaceful, not completely peaceful, but not constantly attacking, talking was a option.

Spirit Ahura	In its true form, Ahura roamed the spirit world, as it usually did, venturing far and wide, occasionally peeking into the human realm. For the most part, the minor spirit avoided others, never sure if they were hostile or not. Today, however, as it approached a small spirit pond, another spirit was nearby, apparently napping or resting. Carefully, on its hind legs, Ahura came closer, its hands carefully folded close to its chest, as if ready to both guard, and be at ease. Rather than speaking, the spirit moved its head this way and that, trying to get a better view of the other spirit's face, perhaps to gauge its mood.

The Shades	The Shade lifted his great black head to look at whatever had made the noise. It was some minor spirit, he gauged, and someone he did not care for much. She was looking right at him from the other side of the pond.He cared little for what it did, it could stay or go, The Shade did not mind, much. He spoke, briefly "Can I help you, minor spirit?" His voice was deep, and echoed slightly. He lowered his head to the ground, but kept his eyes on the other spirit.

Spirit Ahura	With a small squeak, Ahura jumped, but then clapped its clawed hands together, bouncing on its haunches. "Hello hello!" It cheered, apparently happy to find an amiable (sort of) spirit to converse with, "Ahura is lonely; are you lonely too?" Despite being so large, this spirit was rather childlike, being so 'young'. Hopping across the lake, fading just before touching the surface, so that it could float on the surface before jumping again, Ahura comes to a rest a foot or two from the elder spirit. Sitting on its haunches once again, it gave a sort of smile, as best it learned how, from watching the humans.

The Shades	The Shade watched the spectacle that the spirit performed to get over to him, he sighed inwardly, before turning too look more closely at the other spirit. Young as he may appear, he understood humans better than practically all spirits. He had seen their minds, how they thought and how they worked, and he had the knowledge they possessed. Kako has a good amount of knowledge, which he used often it seemed. The Shade was about twenty years old mentally, physically he was thousands of years old, he spoke to the spirit. "I have been lonely since the day I died, thousands of years ago, but I do not feel it" It was true, he had no emotion except wrath, he gazed at the spirit, waiting.

Spirit Ahura	"You died?" Ahura asked, tilting its head to the side, "You really died? Like the humans do? Was it fun?" Its eyes widened in curiosity as it waited for the answer. Human concepts were so interesting to it that it couldn't help asking questions, despite the possibility that it might be asking for more than it was privy to. It also did not move, despite any cues that it should leave.

The Shades	The Shade lifted his head again, and locked his blood red eyes on the spirit, such a puny thing. It asked questions like human children, it had a morbid curiosity. The Shade considered for a moment ending the spirit, if he could, but he did not want to spoil his good mood, yet. He thought for a brief moment, remembering so very far back in his memory, to the point of when his mortal life ended, he spoke to the spirit, saying. "Dying... It was nothing but a short burst of excruciating pain before I awoke to the darkness, to... This, I was prey in life, but now I am the ultimate immortal predator." It was all true, it was plain to see. He was built for the hunt, his abilities and his instincts told him this. He wondered why the spirit was so curious about mortal affairs, they were far from interesting, heck, they couldn't even change their shape...

Spirit Ahura	Ahura tilted its head so far over that it was looking at the Spirit Wolf upside-down; one of its favorite things about being twelve feet tall. "Wolves not prey," It said, almost as a question. The minor Spirit was under the impression that it was being tricked, somehow, with this conflicting statement against prior knowledge. Other than that, it remained where it was, making no new sounds or betraying any thoughts.

The Shades	The Shade lazily blinked, once. He wondered why he was talking to this tall yet minor spirit... It was interesting to say the least, he was curious about her story, but he didn't ask out of pure laziness. He spoke, with a yawn. "When I was smaller I was prey to human hunters, who took my pelt. So I took their descendants lives in exchange..." It was his most vidid memory, he blinked again before looking at the upside spirit.

Spirit Ahura	Ahura did not straighten; apparently its curiosity had not been quelled by that answer. This spirit only every had good experiences with humans (or at least not terrible ones), so it didn't really understand revenge or hatred in such a way, as this elder spirit did. It didn't ask directly, however; its eyes only flickered back and forth among the features of the Spirit Wolf. Realistically, Ahura could have become more powerful, rather than watching and interacting with the monks, but this spirit was all about the funtimes.

The Shades	The Shade waited for a moment, just to be sure the spirit opposite him did not speak. When it didn't, he sighed, which came out as a low growl deep on his throat. He looked back over at the spirit. He guessed that it didn't know much about mortal affairs, and he could not blame it. He spoke. "Minor spirit, humans are often filled with greed and anger. They take what they think is theirs, without any regard too other creatures. The only exception is the monks, who preach kindness, Urgh" He shifted his weight, but continued to keep hos gaze on the spirits upside down one.

Spirit Ahura	"Monks are nice!" Ahura informed the other Spirit happily, sitting upright and bouncing on its haunches, "Tea parties and robes and sand with lines!" Yes, the minor spirit definitely liked the monks, and the airbenders. At first, those were the only humans that it had known, but since more and more travelers had come to the Northern Air Temple to visit, Ahura had come to understand that not every human was a monk. Once it thought about the other part of what the elder spirit had said, on that note, it drooped a little. "Mean humans?"

The Shades	The Shade looked deeply at the minor spirit, considering it for a moment. She was clearly familiar with the monks, which meant she must be a spirit associated with the airs, something that The Shade found slightly amusing. The Shade blinked his eyes before standing, rather lethargically. He walked over to the spirit, and looked it in the eyes for a moment, before speaking. "Yes, humans kill each other, all of the time, the fire benders once killed all off the airbenders, all the monks, I would call that mean. Humans fight in wars, I merely observe, unless called upon." It was true, during the one hundred year war The Shade had done very little, just flitted around from kingdom too kingdom, watching the slaughter and poverty go by, in a matter of moments for him, one hundred years was nothing to the elder spirit.

Spirit Ahura	With a sudden sad expression, Ahura moved in closer to the other spirit, hunkering down in a similar fashion to the large wolf form. "Mean humans... It is very sad," It murmured, seeming depressed. This new revelation was nothing short of world-breaking, for the spirit. After all, if there were mean humans, then they might be mean to it! Or to the nice humans who are fun to play tricks on!

The Shades	The Shade briefly paused for a minute, too take in the sounds of the Spirit World. The pace at the current moment wasn't as peaceful as it could have been, and the reason for that was probably the supposed bridge between the two worlds... The chaos had allowed The Shade to fully slip into the mortal realm, which proved very useful. The world being imbalanced would be noticed by few... Something he would have to rectify, he had been doing nothing for far too long now. He turned to the other Spirit, and spoke. "I have matters to attend too, I must leave you now, farewell, Spirit" The energies that flowed through both worlds could prove the key to whatever he did next, and it was these energies that he intended to unbalance in the favor of darkness. The Shade stretched out its gigantic wolf body, before racing away at impossible speeds through the trees, he had to sort the problem, and bring chaos to it's pinnacle in the mortal plain.

Spirit Ahura	Almost completely ignoring the second half of the other spirit's words, Ahura bounded to its feet, giving chase. While the other spirit was faster, the minor spirit was able to keep up; this was, after all, one of its favorite places and it knew the layout quite well. Plus, its size helped it to move faster, rather than slower as it might in the human realm. Whether out of curiosity or playing a game, Ahura followed the other spirit for as long as it might run... perhaps even further than that, if it was interesting.

The Shades	The Shade ignored the minor spirit following him, it was not his priority right now. He continued his way through the forest, slowing down to a fast walking speed. The Shade looked around, he was almost there. The Shade thought deeply while he walked, not really thinking of the other spirits safety. He stopped suddenly, in a clearing. The place seemed to be dark and malevolent, full of things that shunned the light. The Shade stopped in the center of the clearing, and looked back at the other spirit. "If you do not wish to become manifested with the darkness, leave, now" The Shade knew it was time. He raised his head to the sky and closed his blood red eyes. He let out an earsplitting, bone-chilling, howl. The whole forest seemed to reverberate with his anger. From around the area, dark energies began to swirl towards The Shade, circling around him. They were the dark spirits, who would see him to his goal. There were many of them, all born of the chaos of the world, all ready to do his bidding. He stopped howling, and touched his nose to the floor of the clearing. A dark pulse of black energy surged around the clearing, the spirits all appeared before him, an armies worth of them, but none of them as powerful as he was. The Shade stepped back, and let the rift into the human world open. It was a portal to Jang Hui, he stopped, and spoke, his voice booming with power. "Consume their world with me"

Spirit Ahura	"No, no, no!" Ahura exclaimed, realizing exactly what the dark spirits were, dancing along the edges of their spiritual signature in an agitated fashion, "These are bad spirits! Come out, come out!" It hadn't even really understood why the other spirit - now somehow considered a friend, apparently - had wanted to find them at all. Stretching out slightly, as if trying to grab the wolf spirit and pull him back, Ahura quickly shrank back, unwilling to touch the dark energy. "Come out!" It called once more in frantic, hopeful tones.

The Shades	The Shade turned, fixing its blood red eyes upon the minor spirit. It spoke in frantic tones, trying to kid itself. He was a Dark Spirit, one of the most powerful ones in existence. Driven by hate, he would see the human world burn in the flames of anguish. He flicked his head, and the other spirits continued to wait, stretching far back into the forest, behind the solider pines. The Shade advanced on the minor spirit, and lowered his great head. His eyes radiated pure hatred, and his body pulsed out sickeningly dark energies, he was more powerful than ever before, and it was thanks to the Avatar. He looked at the spirit again, as she cowered under the trees, the other spirits had shunned it. No wonder, she still radiated with the light, but if she remained, she would be consumed by darkness. The Shade spoke, in his usual tone. "I to am a Dark Spirit, the most powerful one currently in existance. I drew out these spirits, they are under my control. I will see the human world burn, they have shunned the spirits for far to long. It is the era of the Shade, and we will once again roam freely upon the human plain, as we did in the days of Wan, the first" He may have been evil, and he may have loathed Wan's decision to lock them all away, but he respect the man greatly. He had the power, he had forged the bridge, but look at what his legacy had become. Avatar Aang had been a lot like Wan in some ways, but this new Avatar did not deserve the title of her previous lives. But The Shade would see to it that her lineage would be proud again, he would rip apart the Avatar, and bathe the world in blood and fire. They would learn this lesson, they would bow to him. (With this much energy, he practically had the potential to create another Avatar... But no, he wouldn't. Plus he did not contain the elements... However he would triple any humans normal bending abilities.)

Spirit Ahura	"Noooooo...!" Ahura whined, gripping at handfuls of its fur, almost in anguish, "No bad spirit... good spirit!" It referred to the wolf spirit, of course, "Talk and be good again, yes...?" Desperation, now, to get what it considered to be its friend back. The talk of Wan the First did not ring any bells for the minor spirit, as it had not been around so far back in time. As it was also able to fade in and out of the human realm, talk of existing in the same one did nothing for Ahura either.

The Shades	The Shade growled as the other spirit dared to touch him. What right did it have, to touch him? He thought as much, which stirred the other spirits in the clearing. He growled again at the other spirit, angrily. He had never been good, ever since the day he had died in the human realm. This spirit knew nothing... Of the eternity of darkness he lived in. Dark energy seeped out of The Shade, and would begin to corrupt the other spirit if it did not let go. He growled again, and snapped his jaws in it's face. "Unhand me, if you value your existence." It had a few minutes before The Shade unleashed his full power against her. He had a human realm to destroy, and this spirit, or anyone else for that matter, would not get in his way.

Spirit Ahura	Flinching back, Ahura released the other spirit's fur so that it could grab for its own in both shock and anguish. The minor spirit retreated several feet, afraid to stay, but afraid to leave. It did not feel that its "friend" was beyond saving... even if the wolf spirit believed that it was. "Do not be bad," It almost pleaded with the other, going still as it sat on its haunches, "No need to be bad... Be good?" Feeble, perhaps, but as heartfelt as it could be, under the circumstances.

The Shades	The Shade lowered his head yet again, as the portal behind him cackled with black energy. It looked to the spirit before him, the only one in the clearing not consumed by the darkness he radiated. It was a curious phenomenon, this spirit may be a minor one but it was curious nevertheless. The Shade turned away from the spirit, and prowled over to the portal to Jang Hui. It was time. He turned back towards the other spirit, and spoke. "If you wish to see the true chaos of the human realm, come with me" He turned his head, to look back at the spirit, and growled once.
