Personality: Kyorin is a very curious soul, and seeks to better his understanding of bending. He is also very lighthearted around people, but in a fight, he is as ruthless as ever. He isn't afraid to kill for friends in need, even though he doesn't like it. He can also be quite the dork, acting two thirds his age. He also can't resist a good festival or party, and loves old, traditional music. But be careful, his position in the Dai Li wasn't just handed to him. During his missions and investigations in the Dai Li, he doesn't particularly care about other criminals that he isn't chasing down, like, he would be fine hiring thugs to distract somebody or for information, or letting an illegal immigrant work with him on a case without any legal action against them. Although he has a slight disliking for Firebenders in particular. He prefers sweet and spicy food, ESPECIALLY chocolate. You need chocolate? He's probably your guy. Also prefers sleeping outside, in the elements. Usually underneath a tree, or at least something over his head to keep the bear bats poop out of his face. Adventuring companions also seem to notice him staring at the moon for long periods of time at night or while walking. He is polite to elders and teachers, as he thinks the world has benefited from their existence. He is also fascinated by clocks, compasses, and the like. His biggest concern of all, is the spirit portals opening up across the world. He seeks for answers about them whenever he has enough time to take trips. Who said being in the Dai Li Elite meant constant work?

Abilities: Kyorin traveled to the Si Wong Desert and the Northern Water tribe to study Sand and Water bending. From his travels, he was able to a acquire a very detailed map of the world, and maps of specific regions. He has them all stored very carefully and in separate cases/scrolls. On these maps are marks and locations of current Spirit World portals, including Hei Bei's Forest, Avatar Aangs first encounter with the spirit world. That one he finds most intriguing. He wanted the fluid motions on the water bender in his Earthbending. He went to the Sandbenders first, to control separate particles of Earth. Water Bending second, to get the details down and get better at his technique. He can now move Earth (limited amount, mind you)like water, like a Snake. He can also extend it to a razor sharp spear capable of tearing through armor. Although, when it's snaking around his body like Waterbenders do with their water, the Earth is fragile. Something like a sword or a knife could go right through, unless Kyorin hardens that part of his 'snake'. An airbender could easily blow it into the wind, but that wouldn't stop Kyorin from just making another one. This 'Snake' usually comes from an rock Bo Staff that is his weapon until he needs his snake.

Appearance: Brown long bangs with a straight ponytail that reaches mid-back and eyebrow color to match. His sharp brown,almost red, eyes seem to pierce into you at times, but at others can seem so soft. Fairly built man, for an earthbender of his age. Enough to throw around a solid rock pole and not get tired of it after a few seconds. As an Elite Dai Li agent, he doesn't wear the normal robes, although he is encouraged to wear them to formal activities. He wears more comfortable clothing, with a black and green vest over it, and then heavy steel toed boots instead of simple shoes. His skin tone has been slightly browned due to being in the desert. In his right palm and lower arm, his skin is all scared over, as if it was burnt pretty badly. It's also sensitive to other people touching it. On his back is a large Earth Kingdom Symbol Tattoo, surrounded by the outline of the Earthen Kingdom's borders, showing his dedication to his country and his countrymen. Unlike most Dai Li members, he doesn't wear the rock gloves everywhere. On all signatures, he always makes sure to put his last name, Acer, not just his first name that is required by Dai Li Agents. He also doesn't wear the normal head wear for Dai Li, he likes to be able to see the sun.

Weaponry & Other Gear: He uses a rock Bo Staff that he usually pulls from the ground. He then can use that to make his 'Snake' for fighting.


History: Kyorin was born in Omashu, into a richer family of 4, including him. He had his parents and an older sister, about 5 years older than him, named Lin. At an early age, he found that he could Earthbend. He was the only one that could do so in his family. His father thought it was best for him to be pushed in his gift, so he was enrolled into a high-end Earthbending class. He barely passed. He wasn't even good at making friends. Nevertheless, he was always ready to learn more, despite being a bad student. When he was about 18, he and his family went on a vacation to their vacation home in Gaipan Village, near the borders of the Earth Kingdom and the Fire Nation Colonies. They lived happily for a few weeks, and the day before they were supposed to leave, Firebenders broke into the home, looking for valuables to steal. They thought that the Acer family had left. They killed Mr. and Mrs. Acer, and even Lin, before Kyorin got home from a last walk around in the red forest. When he got there, he was able to see his fathers corpse fall to the ground. In rage and sorrow, he killed the looters, but got badly burned in the process. Something broke inside of him that day. He blamed himself for the death of his parents. If he was stronger, he could have saved them, protected them. He was the only one with Earthbending, it was his duty to protect his parents and little sister. He thought that his half-baked Earthbending wasn't strong enough, that he needed to learn more and new things. He left Gaipan Village under the full moon and traveled back to Omashu, and trained again with the youngsters. His teacher used a Bo staff to help train his students, and after constant pleading from Kyorin, he accepted to teach him how to use it as well as Earthbending. After all that, he went to the Si Wong Desert. There he studied their Sandbending. He then mirrored their moves and kept practicing until he was able to turn solid rock into sand/dust with little effort. After the Sandbenders, he sought after the Northern Water tribe, he learned to bend earth around like the Waterbenders do water. He could separate the rock into smaller pieces, keep them close together but able to move them around his body by mirroring the movements of the Waterbenders. Later, he was able to make the pieces' size consistent throughout his 'Snake'. That's what his teacher called it, a River Snake. During his travels, he found out about the Spirit portals, and acquired a map of the world. The Water Benders told him of the few locations that they knew of. He marked them all down and left. Not sure what to do with his information, or what to do next, he went to Ba Sing Se at the age of 21, and begged to become a Dai Li agent. Reluctantly, he was accepted. He then climbed his way from Novice to his current ranking as an Elite. Even now, his life in the Dai Li reflects that of his childhood. His friends are few and far between. His strange techniques in Earthbending makes the other agents uncomfortable around him. The Novices are straight up scared of him. All the way since the beginning it was like that. He takes his missions seriously, and avoids much of everything else, except any lead on the Spirit Portals.

Sample RP:   The anchor dug deep into the snow as it was dropped from aboard the ship, sticking it to the shore of ice. Many members of the Northern Water Tribe came onto shore, holding their fur coats close to them and pulling their hoods tight as they made it inside the icy city. Some of the people working at the docks looked up at the stranger who stepped off of the ship in black steel-toed boots, his strange green clothing and vest, with almost no sence of cold. He looked up at the rows and rows of houses gradually climbing in altitude, until it reached the top. He set off walking with the small bag of money. It was all he had left after buying his way onto the boat. "I should have took more money out of my bank account.." He thought to himself. This would be all the money he had to get a teacher here and get back home. Unlikely. Nevertheless, daunting obstacles had never stopped him before, why now? He was in friendly territory, even though he suspected that many of the sailors thought he was a Fire Nation spy. He wasn't, of course. Eventually, out of breath, he reached the top of the city. A certain house of a certain someone he wanted to teach him. Zurok Mia Takamatzuk. She was home, by the smell of the food. He decided it would be the polite thing and not walk straight into her home, so he sat cross-legged outside in the cold, waiting for her to come out into view. He waited, and waited, eager to get started. Or, at least ask her. This would be the first time he's seen or spoke with her, and her him. She hadn't even heard of him. But he did of her. Many things. Eventually she had finished eating, and walked through the front of the house, spotting him, sitting there. He was practically asleep, sitting down. Oddest thing was he should have been shivering like a mad. "Who are you? And what are you doing here?" She demanded in a booming voice. The strange man jolted awake and flailed around at the sudden noise. Once her righted himself and stood, then bowed, he stated his buisness. "Zurok, Mia, Takamatzuk. I have come to ask a request of you. I didn't think it wise to come inside of someone such as yourself, so I stayed out here until you came into view." "And what is this request?" She asked. "And straighten your back, for heavens sake." He stood tall, and paused. "I want to study your water bending. Your movements, how you bend your water, the like." She was a little taken back. An Earth Kingdom citizen seeking water bending? Maybe he was born with the gift of water bending? She voiced these questions to him. "No, I am an Earthbender through and through. What I seek is knowledge, like you did so long ago and still do to this day, to protect your large family. My reasons are similar." She considered him, for a moment, wondering how he knew of her thirst of knowledge and about her big family. "It will be fun to see what you can absorb of my teachings. What would your name be?" "Kyorin Acer"

so theoretically, there's nothing inherently *wrong* with this character, only that your word counts would only qualify him for the Beginner-tier. Which, if that's what you want, then that's AOK with me. As long as you are aware of it.

Otherwise, I would also expect that you would write the tier(s) of bending he is at, under the "Training" section (at the top).

So this is not a rejection. I could approve it right now if you wanted to be a beginner-tier character, but otherwise, if you wanted a higher tier, you would need to use the appropriate template.
