Full Name: Hun-Hun "No Last Name"
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Element: Air
Birthplace: Northern Water Tribe [Until she was 5 years old]
Position: Airbending Warrior in Training
Personality:
The personification of air itself, the only thing Hun-Hun possesses from her Water Tribe heritage would be her stubborn nature. But more to the point, HunHun is humorous, inquisitive, brave, lively, very driven and carries a big heart with her always. She's sometimes very thickheaded and may not always follow instructions...and is known to sometimes take matters into her own hands to make a difference (Meaning that, like Air, HunHun tends to do her own thing, fairly independent you could say). Whenever Hun-Hun sets her mind on something she'll work to achieve it until it kills her, and it's hard to sway her convictions. Interestingly, she doesn't stick her nose in other people's business unless asked. She does things with a purpose..... Her motto is that "No One Gets Left Behind"; Hun-Hun would take a blade to the heart where her "family" is concerned....when she actually finds herself in one....let her know. XD She can be considered self-sacrificing and cares alot for people. Her main thing is to hear laughter and smiles; if HunHun could put a smile on your face it'd make her day. Mostly.
On a side note, she's prone to subjecting others to abuse, random bouts of sheer dense-ness and hysterics. There's just something about sea jerky and dumplings that drives her NUTS.
Ironically, the little nomad is not very skilled at expressing her feelings. Make no mistake about it, when her toes are stepped on HunHun
will get you told, she just does not address what hurts her most. She keeps it to herself and hides it behind humor and sheepishness. The less she relented her problems, the better.
That's gotta be self destructive, right?
Interests-Aside from traveling (via Mei-Mei the hardcore bison of course), HunHun is fond of performing with her lacquered flute and making crafts. Usually she plays music/dances for herself but she can be found performing for crowds, every now and then. In her spare time HunHun will design crafts such as jewelry and little knick-knacks and will sometimes sell them.
Most of the time she just makes them for family and friends or will keep them for herself. Usually they represent her travelings from wherever she was in the world.
Abilities:
She doesn't have her arrow tattoos yet, and as such HunHun is still in training. In spite of that she is quite the talented Airbender and is currently working on passing the final tiers (while perfecting her secret technique) to become a master. Her style of airbending is very much like her ancestors : Explosive, swift, versatile and full of gusto. Unfortunately, she's extremely direct with her airbending and it unnerved the monks in the beginning because her Water Tribe nature renders her......quite violent. But like the air that changes direction HunHun and her teachers adapted and helped to make her style her own. Aside from that HunHun was also taught a feasible amount of hand-to-hand combat from her father, in the case that she be caught in a situation where "Airbending would not save her". The only weapon she possesses is her glider staff which, when Priestess Lihua designed it, carved a spear at the tail end for her defense.
As of yet her technique, which she has only shown Master Niu, is under-wraps. Hun-Hun
only uses it when absolutely necessary and practices it on insectoids mostly during training, as per Niu's adamant orders.
Though her mentor would prefer it if she didn't really practice the technique at all.Appearance:
Miss HunHun is an even 5"0, petite, and weighs at an even 100 lbs with bone-straight hair the color of ink that falls right to her elbows. Her skin borders on a creamy tan and a glare from her cat-like eyes could pierce a soul.
She can be stylish when the mood strikes her, and if you squint you just might catch HunHun in a schnazzy gypsy dress or two.
If you squint. Her main attire consists of comfortable sleeveless/billow-sleeved tunics over shorts or parachute pants (sans all her accessories accept for her tribal hair ties and nomad headband). She really prefers anything light and airy because she can't stand furs unless she's in the Tribes, and even then she's itchy. HunHun does NOT do dresses; she'd kill herself before she's caught dead in one. More importantly HunHun doesn't really go for cutesy, she'd rather sport "flowy" and 'Kick ***'.
History:
Mother: Lihua, 35 Priestess/Master Airbender
Father: Anokki, 37 Warrior/Nonbender
Brother: Mikka, 18 Waterbender
Sister: Kipa, 15 Waterbender
Brother: Yaozu 12, Airbender
Sister: Panya, 6 Airbender
Master Teacher: Niu 42, Master Airbender
Fly Bison: Mei-Mei, Female, 7
If you'd ask them, they would swear that it was fated by the powers that be themselves. Anokki was young, adventurous, and an up and coming formidable warrior well spoken of in his tribe. Because of his station he often traveled the extremities of the lands, and time and again he would always bump into Lihua, the girl he considered to be the most beautiful airbender in the world. (At least that's what his hormones told him.) When he wasn't busy showing off in front of her, Lihua was busy saving his hide. After one stunt that nearly killed him, Anokki and Lihua found themselves bound to each other indefinitely.
By the time he was 18 and she was 16 the two of them had already courted each other and were married. Lihua segued her priestess duties through service in the Spirit Oasis and Anokki continued through his warrior training, at a glance everything was good and fine.
When their oldest son Mikka was born, things couldn't have gotten better for them. He was healthy and they were happy. By the time Mikka was 2 Anokki and Lihua found themselves expecting again....but this was something they weren't prepared for.
HunHun startled the midwives at birth; instead of mocha colored skin her tanned flesh was so faint it bordered on yellow. Her hair was the color of ink without a single wave, and the only thing that connected her to Tui and La were her eyes and even then they teetered between bluish-grey. Anokki and Lihua loved both of their children dearly but, often they prayed to the spirits that HunHun be a Waterbender or none at all....to spare her further ridicule.
It was at this time that 4 year old HunHun stumbled upon little Kano the troublemaker. As fortune would have it, HunHun was currently being shunned from games with the rest of children. Fortunately, Kano apparently didn't go by the status quo. He was the only one that didn't make fun of her and even tried to teach her a water bending trick or two.
Which resulted in her accidental airbending.
HunHun remembered sitting in on a Water Bending lesson (to encourage her "water bending blood" of course). It was basic, seeing as they were between the ages of 5 and 8. All they had to do was connect with the water and try to get it to push and pull. HunHun tried so hard that day, but it just didn't FEEL right. The water wasn't calling to her, something else was. Regardless, she copied her Sifu anyway and did the motions. The effect was that she ended up accidentally blowing the water from the barrel.
Several events fell after that and blurred together in HunHun's memory. She recalled the stares, the open mouths, the running and hiding and her parents arguing. She remembered suddenly being whisked away to the Eastern Temple for a few weeks and then back home again. Anokki and Lihua made the painful decision to send her there, because in the NWT she simply could not thrive as an airbender. Her windstorm personality was too much for the static tradition of the Water Tribe. She was too bouncy, to troublesome and too much like Air. When she was 6 years old she had to make the move indefinitely.
HunHun did not like that at all.
Her training there was extensive and intense, it's purpose to curve her aggressive Water Tribe nature (which did not go well) and assimilate her into the nomad ways. Regardless of that she ate meat, she played the drums and her style remained like a warrior's, albeit a fast, nearly intangible and flexible one. Due to her battle-oriented nature, HunHun had been assigned to Master Niu, who was renown for her insurmountable patience and "out-of-the-box" attitude. Despite all of that HunHun was home, and it
felt right. She had to admit that she honestly enjoyed her life at the temples and identified with the Air Nomads the most. She pulled pranks, she played music, she ate fruit pies, she studied the bending arts without let-up and visited her family at the NWT regularly and faithfully. HunHun even formed the closest relationship she could ever have with her flying bison, Mei-Mei, whom she's been in cahoots with ever since HunHun was 9 years old. Whenever she returned to the NWT she always presented her family with hand-crafted gifts and told them stories of her life at the Air Temples and the places she'd seen around the world. Make no mistake, HunHun was always close with her family (excluding the wedge between her and Mikka) but she,Yaozu, and Panya were
very close. HunHun loved spending time with her little brother & sister, and showing them cool airbending moves; she gave them little trinkets from the Air Temples and a Bison whistle that was identical to hers.
As of late, Hun-Hun continues to reside in the Eastern Temple but frequently travels the world. She continues to perform on occasions, and meets her bestfriend Jiaojie the earthbender in Ba Sing Se for the yearly bazaars to sell her crafts. Currently she's returned to complete the next segment of her training, tiers 17-22. under the tutelage of Master Niu. Unbeknownst to her, not only is she going to get a surprise, but it's from her fabled cousin that she's heard many stories about as a small child. And to this day, Hun-Hun still manages to wreak havoc wherever she goes.
